Wow, I realized just now that there are some tuning parts that can only be obtained through a dose of luck. I thought that those gifts were just supposed to save you a little money here and there, but it turns out there's more to it than that. I guess that's why some tuning parts have no recommended retail price and are labelled "Not for sale".I see on average about 2 per race but usually they are mid pack since they need roulette parts to be way overpowered.
But how realistic is the physics of the road cars? Find it hard to believe a modern GT-R would be as loose as it was at Watkins Glen in Race A a few weeks ago. Or maybe it’s that PD keeps running them on non-sticky tires (like the Vette in the recent time trial)?
We are running these at the very ragged edge of grip all the time. I don't think anyone pushes as hard as in a video game so it might be realisticBut how realistic is the physics of the road cars? Probably the best person to answer the question of realism would be someone who actually owns one of the cars in the game.Valid question.
Personally the realism aspect is kind of irrelevant because I have nothing to compare it to.
If I'm totally honest, I enjoy the challenge and I like to pretend it's realistic because I don't see myself having the chance to throw a GT-R around The Glen anytime soon.

Yes, and I'm loving it. I just now, a few minutes ago, broke the 1:52 barrier (1:51.978). Then I did a race, and missed beating my previous best QT by on-tenth of a second - during the actual race!Have you had a go at trial mountain race b?
Started with chase cam, moved to bonnet and now am on bumper cam.Logged on today to do a couple of daily races but actually spent my time doing daily b timetrial as I decided to try the other camera views.
I normally use chase cam as I like the fact I can see where cars are around me on track.
Ive switched to bumper cam and I’ve actually found this to be quite a good camera. I feel like I have way more control of the car, and I can ride the curbs the better and the big thing I feel like I’m using all the track now. In chase cam I would sometimes not use the full track width in fear of running wide into the grass. My laps times aren’t any quicker but Im guessing they might get a little quicker.
Anyone else recently changed camera view and found it’s made them better or faster?
Also what views do people use?
A - chase cam
B - cockpit (I do like cockpit view but some cars it’s horrible)
C - bonnet (or “hood”) cam
D - bumper (or “fender”) cam

I’m guessing their go-to answer would be that they are going for realism and that there is no rear view mirror on the hood. But then again, riding on the bumper to steer the car isn’t very realistic either, and you get a mirror in that view, so who the heck knows why they make these decisions?!Bonnet cam. With bumper cam I have the feeling of not seeing far enough ahead. But yes, no idea why there is no rear view mirror in bonnet cam, that really sucks.

Probably would've stuck with bonnet cam but the lack of a mirror is a killer, it's not so bad in chase cam because you can see around you but it got me in a lot of avoidable trouble in bonnet cam.
Bumper cam also uses cockpit sounds which are quite frankly stunning.
Not tried bonnet cam yet, but so far I’m finding in bumper cam with the rear view mirror is so valuable, but then the trade off (like Leon says) im struggling a bit to see past cars when I’m right on the bumper. Having move off the racing line before a corner or lift of the gas earlier.Bonnet cam. With bumper cam I have the feeling of not seeing far enough ahead. I do love cockpit cam. Like you say the immersive experience is brilliant. Been using cockpit cam in my custom championship season I made.Cockpit cam all the way, just a way more authentic and immersive experience.
Used to race in bonnet cam but tried the bumper view and it's much more accurate in the corners and helped me get fasterLogged on today to do a couple of daily races but actually spent my time doing daily b timetrial as I decided to try the other camera views.

Cockpit cam since I promised myself years ago I would once we had the level pf graphics we have now and it was implemented in detail for every car. Have done since Sport and do now in every racing game. It might take some time off me, I haven't tested, but it makes up for it in immersion IMO.Logged on today to do a couple of daily races but actually spent my time doing daily b timetrial as I decided to try the other camera views.

Streaming daily race B all day
A — chase camera. Should be noted I’m on the DualSense. Was most attracted to this view back in the day since I got to see the car while driving. Cockpit is also amazing for immersion and I love using it while hotlapping cars around Nordschleife and the like on my own. Not capable of using it competitively though, losing way too much time.Logged on today to do a couple of daily races but actually spent my time doing daily b timetrial as I decided to try the other camera views.

Pausing mid race puts your car in auto drive which has little to no impact on your time on most straights. It’ll impact your time heavily in corners but usually, whoever chats during a race is someone who’s crashed so it doesn’t matter for them. Generally, just avoid chatting mid race, I think it’s pretty poor class because it’s disturbing for whoever’s still racing. Can someone explain how chatting works, during a race? I mean, I know you bring up the menu with Continue and Chat on it, then select chat. But what happens to your car while you're typing? I'm guessing there are places on the track where your car keeps up your pace on its own?
And yes, I know, never text and drive. (It had to be said, right?)

Yeah I feel so much more in tune and part of the car now in bumper cam. Ive noticed since the switch that I’m able to save errors more easily. When in chase cam, if I get on the grass and start to lose control, I was over correcting and end up oversteering and then into a barrier. Since I’m able to control the skid and recover.Used to race in bonnet cam but tried the bumper view and it's much more accurate in the corners and helped me get faster
Anybody know if fuel will be a factor in race C next week? I was thinking the McLaren could work round there, but I seem to recall it’s terrible on fuel consumption.

1. The sensation of speed is unrivalled.
2. Rear view mirror
3. Cockpit sounds
4. Central HUD placement
Saying that... Judging distances in front can be a bit hit-and-miss
