Please PD, please

Why do you make us purchase and tune that many road cars if the only things we need for online are an Atenza Gr4 and an RCZ Gr3....

Why go from one extreme to the other from full tuning to full BOP ?

Can't there be fun online for everyone ?

Can't you add race D for a road cars and tuning allowed ??? Not complicated.

Let's find a balanced middle ground so that everyone can have fun please.

The D level races for Race A are really intense if you are in the front half. Everyone seems to be pretty sensible into the braking zone. Seems most understand you trying to send someone likely means you're also done.

Had some really intense battles for P2, P3 and even P1 coming down to the last laps. Also the closest I've been to the front by far lmao

Yes, while I prefer BoP I wouldn't mind some tuning races. You can't even tune brake bias on BoP cars now, which seems like a step back (one I assume they will rectify eventually). One race for street cars with tuning would be a nice addition.
 
Can one of you handsome chaps please remind me how penalties change as you move up through the safety ratings?

I went from C where it felt like you got a 2 second penalty for farting to B where it actually seems to be more forgiving and I've witnessed more ghosting of sideway cars.

I don't believe they do change, at all.
 
it's pretty common in higher lobbies for people to flash their lights before they go for an overtake, I never feel disrespected by it unless they are obviously being intentionally irritating. It's particularly useful if you've been following in somebody's slipstream for awhile and choosing to not go for the move, then when you're finally ready to overtake, a little flash of the lights will signal your intentions. This isn't mandatory, and obviously there are situations where you might not want to let your intentions be so clearly known, but it's a useful tool when the conditions are right.

Penalties change based on your DR. The higher your DR the more likely it is you get a penalty and the higher the penalty amount is. When a higher player hits / gets hit by a lower DR player, the blame shifts to the higher DR player.

Ghosting changes based on SR, which also of course removes a lot of instances where penalties would be issued. No contact, no penalty. But indeed also force of impact needed to trigger a penalty changes based on SR. The lower your SR, the harder you can rub before triggering a penalty.
 
Just watch a race on Miyabi with kart and I almost not recognize the track. A lot have change in the close proximity of the track. PD had to cut a lot of trees to fit the dynamic weather. It feel empty.

No, as @Mc_Yavel said, it's based on experience of nearly 15,000 online races in GT Sport in all possible combinations of DR and SR

And it's speculation on my part that it's all been carried over to GT7, like DR and SR were carried over. Plus I'm not seeing anything different happening in GT7 sport mode. Just that PD turned the penalty system back on which seems to be a combination of GT Sport 1.55 and prior attempts. Still based on what happens after contact instead of taking any context into account. Plus I've seen the higher penalties based on DR in action in GT7 as well.
 
Race A was great but my DR was clearly climbing as I got put in a C lobby and I was actually hanging in there, but then someone hit into the back of me and I got a 1s time penalty for it :)
 
Race A - Karts. Took a bad line on exit out of the chicane, jumped the curb, and promptly spun myself INTO PIT LANE! To add insult to injury, this happened right in front of Kie while he was on his U.S account, so I assume it's on his stream. I lol'd for 5 solid minutes. Also I feel karts are easier to drive in chase cam (I usually use bumper).

i agree with you,the truth is,more player need pp300 daily race came back!

now the daily race is too serios and too boring.we don't want play gtsport again, we need relax and fun。

please add a new mode for free race in daily race!
 
I love this week's C race. I do however share the concerns of others, regarding the repetitiveness of the car selection. I couldn't resist buying a RCZ Gr3 specifically for Sport mode, which shouldn't really be a thing. It's not that I'm not competitive with my AMG GT3 (I'm a cheapskate at this game, for now), but life is just SO much easier with a RCZ Gr3 that it is absurd. I forbid myself from even trying out, sometime, the Atenza.

I really hope this game doesn't have its meta established so early on. Ah well, regardless - I adore Brands Hatch. It is such a pick and go type of fun track.

I rear-ended your car at one of the hard braking zones at Interlagos last week (I was in a Corvette). I didn't mean to. I braked just a tad later than you did, and it looked like you got spun out. I think my mistake cost you about 3 spots.

I wanted to send you an apology after the race, but discovered that you can't tag a player's name anymore, and apparently there aren't any preset messages to send. By the time I figured out that none of that existed anymore, and I would need to type all of it manually, you had left.

We've always complained that the races are too short here - A and B this week are absurd. I was able to repeatedly jump between them on a 10 min cycle last night. I was getting 1min to spare after race A, but only had 20-30sec after B (countdowns on the entry timer after joining).

I don't know whether it is possible with the loading times of a PS4, but that is irrelevant - each race should have 12-13min track time, not 6-7.
 
Yeah the Atenza is a menace, I refuse to run it and use the WRX instead. The problem with the new physics is RWD cars are going to be super uncompetitive in classes with AWD because the rear is so much more secure on the AWD cars and TC1 is way, way too trigger happy.
 
I had a couple of these races as well, but the majority, at least for me, have been super close races. Four of us finished within one second of the winner yesterday in one race.

I should have mentioned in my post above that I also find this race hysterical! The first lap is definitely choas! Karts going full speed to instantly veering off (full speed) at a 90 degree angle is also common. The replays with the karts is really cool too, especially the music replay.
Ive only done the one race so far so will try a few more. I think the problem is I got stuck in a race where everyone was pretty equal on time, and the only one breaking zone doesn’t help.
I can see kart races been fun if they get the right tracks or they add some real world & some specific go kart tracks.
 
Turns out I can’t drive brands hatch at all! Not sure why I’m struggling so much. I think I just can’t pick my turning points and am terrified of touching the grass for fear if instant death. I’m about 1.5 seconds of middle A pace whereas at interlagos last week I was about a second quicker than most A pace qualifiers. Pride comes before a fall and all that I guess.
 
My Suzuki Swift Gr4 is remarkably competitive against the onslaught of Atenzas. BoP isn't working very well it seems, they need to hurt the Atenzas more for it to actually be balanced, bit more weight in the front should do it.

No worries at all, I don't even remember that happening.

I also wish we had the ability to communicate easier with each other before and after races. I'm hoping PD adds this back like in GT Sport. The presets were quick and easy to use vs now having to type as fast as possible before everyone bails.
 
Ich liebe das C-Rennen dieser Woche. Ich teile jedoch die Bedenken anderer, was die Wiederholung der Autoauswahl betrifft. Ich konnte nicht widerstehen, einen RCZ Gr3 speziell für den Sportmodus zu kaufen, was nicht wirklich etwas sein sollte. Es ist nicht so, dass ich nicht mit meinem AMG GT3 konkurriere (ich bin im Moment ein Cheapskate bei diesem Spiel), aber das Leben ist einfach SO viel einfacher mit einem RCZ Gr3, dass es absurd ist. Ich verbiete mir, dass ich irgendwann die Atenza ausprobiert.

Ich hoffe wirklich, dass dieses Spiel seine Meta nicht so früh etabliert hat, wie es egal - ich bezare Brands Hatch. Es ist so eine Pick und geht eine Art lustige Spur.

Ja, die Atenza ist ein Menü, ich weigere mich, sie zu betreiben und stattdessen das WRX zu nutzen. Das Problem mit der neuen Physik ist, dass RWD-Autos in den Klassen mit AWD super unkompletitiv sein werden, weil die Rückseite auf den AWD-Autos so viel sicherer ist und TC1 ist, viel zu auslösen glücklich.
I'm so right with you Guys.. i hate that "****" Race C 16 Drivers and 12 use the RCZ ( a ugly little Pig ) and 2-3 the 911.. others like me look around and start to.. 🤮

Unpopular opinion: I love the Atenza.

However I do think it needs to be nerf'd. I've just always enjoyed driving it even in GTS where I competed for Mazda for 4 or 5 Manu seasons. The WRX and Lancer handle slightly better through the corners but the Atenza just pulls away on the straights and it seems you can still brake very late despite the additional straight line speed.
