Oh u guys dont have to refuel? Ive been using the C7 and absolutely need to refuel.
I tried a no stopper once driving like grandma, extreme short shifting, slipstreaming and coasting and still was short 2 laps worth of fuel.
I definitely refill and swap to fresh tires.

It is heaps of fun to drive the Suzuki Swift in race B, just to see how many Atenzas you can beat. What makes the Atenza so op is that it's just too stable; you can get the power down almost immediately without any fear of spinning it.
I love the Swift in these races, it's mega quick in the middle sector against the Atenzas. I came 3rd in a B level race earlier and was the only non Atenza in the top 10.

Got my qualifying time into the 1.39s as well which makes me happy.

Did my first couple of daily races today and like I expected the game makes no effort when it comes to introducing the player to this section of the game.

A couple of things:

1. The first thing that throws you off is that apparently you can set a qualifying time that is permanent for the duration of the day. This is horrible for a beginner in the sense that some people put an ungodly amount of time into setting the best lap. I ended up being last or second to last in the races even though I had pretty good race pace. I was never further back than 7 sec from the leader.

2. There are lots of rules in place that come out of nowhere. Someone takes a bad line and rams into your side and suddenly there’s a big red text on the screen that just displays ”penalty” followed by a set amount of time. Of course my first instinct was to slow down to get rid of the penalty but apparently the game decides when that is going to happen? The information for this scenario shows up way later without any warning, making you lose places needlessly.

3. There seems to be no licenses tests regarding actual racing prorocol? How the hell is this possible when there seems to be so many guidelines built into the game on how you should or shouldn’t race? The campaign itself teaches you to cut corners, smash into opponents and tune your car so that no one poses a challenge. Sport mode is the complete opposite of this yet there is nothing in place to help the player transition to this challenging environment.

4. Why are there only 3 daily races and two of them Gr.4 and 3 races? 90% of the campaign is spent racing road cars with various characteristics. Why is only 1 single race dedicated to the people that arguably like the most popular car experience of the game? Not to speak of the fact that you might nog even own these racing cars if you haven’t been lucky with your spins.

1. The quali lap lasts for the whole week

Manufacturers cup at the Nuburgring 24h. 3 laps with fuel management. Was beaten by a no-stopper 😫 in a Lambo Huracan GT3

No idea how he pulled off the fuel management but fair play! He was also spun out on lap 1 but finished in the lead 8 seconds up the road.

Optimum strategy???

This!!
We a encounter fast drivers who have no idea how to race at all levels in this game (it's the main reason I'm dreading ever dropping back into DR B). The licence tests are all very good at showing how quick you can drive and absolutely NOTHING about fair race craft. I agree this needs a complete overhaul.

Beginners should probably put in a lot of time for their qualifying.
It would help them to be better equipped for the race. During a long qualifying session, you can try different techniques, learning what sort of things will make you faster and what things may cause you to crash.

Almost won my first race so now I’ve cooled down a bit. Was a blast from beginning to end. xD

Still, there’s so many things I want them to adress over the coming months. So far this doesn’t seem like a proper continuation of GTS, but more like a straight replica of that functionality. I just can’t figure out if PD has any ambitions with this game mode or if this is exactly how they want competitive play to be presented.

I think they'll probably fix this stuff after singleplayer. It's super frustrating, but I guess the writing was on the wall with no more than 2 sentences devoted to sport mode in the buildup to the game.

In hindsight, I guess we see why. Not only is it not the same stuff, it's an actual regression.

This guy tried to punt someone and tried to block me. Even through all that, he DC’ed lol

Dud mad because he ran right into me after I was recovering from going off track. He saw me go off and had plenty of time to slow down and react. He tried to kill me later…

My best race of the week. The 911 is good here despite everyone running the RCZ.

Don't choose Ford GT race car 18', if tuning/setups is off. I just finished 13th/16 in manu, best GT driver in race lobby.

PD needs to fix this, car is almost undrivable sadly the default tune that is.

The game doesn't decide when its going to happen. There are yellow markers on each side of the track. On race B, it is right after the 4 right handers. You will get a message reminding you that you will automatically be forced to take the penalty at that time.

If you get a penalty on the last lap, the seconds are added on at the end of the race.

Trying to drive the kart with gyro is crazy hard. It's so sensitive and snaps all the time. I managed a 43.038 quali time with 1TCS after about 150 laps. I've noticed the aliens are using countersteer assist which must help on the curbs. On the gyro I can't even keep it in a straight line easily... There's no dead zone at all.

The last corner is a nightmare and really hard to get consistent.. Maybe I'll try with the analog stick instead...

Hi, I have been playing GTS for two years and have participated in the daily race discussion.

I am ready to pull the trigger on GT7. I have a PS4 and will buy and download a copy. I understand based on my PS4/GT7 purchase, when I buy a PS5, I can download GT7 for PS5 for $10.

That feels like a pretty sweet deal. Does that feel about right?

My Source:

Upgrading From PS4 Download

This one is a bit more straightforward. No physical media is required whatsoever. You don’t even need to currently have the game installed on your system. As long as you own the digital PS4 version of the game, the game’s page on the PS Store will always give you the option of upgrading to the PS5 version for $10. This upgrade can be done at any time that works for you. There’s no rush since this is not a limited-time offer.

That’s all there is to know about how to upgrade Gran Turismo 7 from PS4 to PS5. If you haven’t yet picked up the game and you’re still deciding which version to grab, then check out our review where we got hands-on with the PS5 version.

Never do a no stopper. Just asking if anyone else stops for tires along with refueling.

I'm doing Manu races on N24. Great fun, but I was in B/S from Interlagos, too easy with all my experience on N24.

I qualified for the first two, both pole, FL and CRB, easy win with no stop. I never lost the lead in the second race. First one I switched strategy mid way and had to save extra so I 'borrowed' fuel from 2nd place in lap 2. He pitted, no race.

Third race I didn't qualify, started from last which is only 16th now? I won despite 9 sec in penalties in lap 2. First a 4 sec penalty from a track re-entry nicking me. Apparently I forced him off the road with my psychic powers lol. Second penalty was 5 sec from a car that stomped on the brakes 100 meters too early while he had been consistent all the way to the incident. He went in the sand, passed me on the straight while I was serving the penalty and I passed him contact free after.

What was annoying is I couldn't apologize to him after since apparently his name is inappropriate content and GT7 blocks the whole message :banghead: By the time I had figured out it was his user name he had left...

I did the first two races on PS5, the third from the back on PS4. PS4 Pro does have a lot of frame drops in traffic on N24. Pop in isn't that noticeable yet the unsteady frame rate makes it a bit trickier to race. The odd thing, it looks better on ps4  The colors are nicer, the sunset more pronounced. Both connected to the same 4K HDR tv. Very weird, but instantly noticeable playing back to back. Not sure what can be calibrated differently on PS5.

Sitting out qualifying again on the next one. Trying again for CRB. First two wins were 137K, third 91.7K

Edit: The difference in color was just the dynamic skies being different that race. Not a difference between ps4 and ps5.

4th race, CRB and FL from last to 2nd, last was 14th this time. Rooms getting smaller. I was right behind first at the end of lap 3 after making up 15 seconds on him during the lap. Yet he either struggled or intentionally slowed down on to the straight so he could draft pass me in the BMW sprint model. It's indeed a sprint mode, despite my better exit onto the finish straight in FM1 full power, the BMW simply pulled away.

More fun from the back for sure. 93K for 2nd place with CRB, 2K more than 1st place without CRB.

Last one, another victory from last (14th again) with FL, CRB, no stop win. DR reacts far too slowly, stuck in B/S. But it seems to lock you into one DR category for the whole season?

Well done.

Too easy you write? Why didn't you pick Ford then? That GT race car 18' was horrendous to drive 😁😅 I was like 8-14 per lap slower in quali/race, than I would be with say Aston or Corvette, unpredictable rear end on GT due to 0 brake bias and imo horrible default setup. I picked GT due to wanting to get practice for a league (thankfully tuning is on), well it was a good practice race anyway.

Finished 13th/16, best GT driver, two other GT drivers in my lobby, who finished behind me. I almost spun half a dozen times that race. With better strategy I could have been a fantastic 12th 🥳 I know the track very well, so I will blame the car 100% on this.

Looking forward to Interlagos and Daytona, those should be more in my wheelhouse despite the default tune troubles with GT. Not sure how Tokyo or Monza will be, fast turns/sharp fast turns feel scary in GT. At least Mustang will be ok for two of the faster track gr4 races, on paper at least 🤔

I ran a couple of daily C races. During qualifying the car drives differently then when actually racing. Would this have something to do with the BoP? I did qualifying within the session not general practice.

Also during the race I'm required to do a pit stop like most. I swap tires for the same type and you see it get swapped but it still feels like they did not swap it.
Anyone else experience this during the daily races?

Your qualification will be run with an empty tank on fresh but warm tyres.
But in the race you have a full tank, which makes a big difference, and the tire temperature isn't right at first either.

Yes I change tires at Brands, the time lost is nothing compared to the struggle I'd have with it with faded rubber, it's already a difficult track to keep all 4 wheels on tarmac lap after lap.

Fair play to those who can manage it and gain an advantage, but for me it's safety first.

That would clarify the issue that I noticed. Thanks for the information.

Wait… ”daily” races are actually ”weekly” races?

(Hahaha! Why am I not surprised)

Ok, here’s the bare minimum of suggestions PD: Have 3 actual daily races displayed on top and 3 weekly races down below. BAM! - the sport mode just got twice as interesting (and logical)!
Yeah I thought they would have fixed this from sport tbh, at the very least give it a new name

It did initially say they would change at 'irregular intervals' which I guess, 7 days can technically count as.

It's one of those GT things...

I am confident we'll see some changes to Sport mode though, once they've ironed out the single player issues. I think we'll see return of tuning options in the dailies for 1 or more races, and maybe even a refresh of how they're done and organised completely but I imagine it's a case of just getting something in there for people to play for the time being while all hands on deck to solve the biggest complaints currently in the press etc.

I just ran into that guy tonight!

Yes, I'll admit what I did in retaliation is MY FAULT, but that doesn't justify his action by turning into me originally. I went and finished third this race here.

P.S. He tried to say I couldn't handle being passed, yet he passed me when I spun off into the grass and barrier. Then he proceeded to call me dirty and DC'ed from the lobby. Guess we see he's not a first timer here.

To each their own as we say. I've been using the Ford GT all of this week and at first it felt awful and slippery. Once you get used to the car it's perhaps one of the most dangerous Group 3 cars in the game on the straights. Keep practicing on certain tracks and get a feel for it!

I have practiced for hours on Dragon Trail but I can't get beyond 1:39.400 - any tips? I feel like I'm pushing the (meta) car to the edge already. I have tried to follow one of the ghosts but they are useless because they just drive off into the distance... why can't we watch replays like we could in GTS?! Another step backwards.

Got my Q time for race B down to a 1:38.8; I love this combination. So much that I went up to Dr A without even noticing. That's really going to hurt when it changes over to the next combination.
