Turns out I can’t drive brands hatch at all! Not sure why I’m struggling so much. I think I just can’t pick my turning points and am terrified of touching the grass for fear if instant death. I’m about 1.5 seconds of middle A pace whereas at interlagos last week I was about a second quicker than most A pace qualifiers. Pride comes before a fall and all that I guess.
They seem to have improved the track grip, or else players of GT7 are better - on GTS I used to start close to last, and always made up a good number of places from people spinning out, or quitting.

Ran 3 Race Cs yesterday, started close to the back, as usual, but finished last in all 3 of them!

I knew there was a win in this bloody silly kart race if only I could avoid the chaos. First GT7 win! They don't come often so I'll take them however they're given.

The meta situation isn’t helped by a couple of things in gt7 imo. First is that presumably to encourage tuning, the default setups of the cars is appalling. So of course we’re going to choose from the small pool of cars that aren’t undriveable stock. The second is the obsession with racing hard tyres. If we had softer compounds some of the other cars might have a chance of making it all the way round a corner.

Managed a 1:38.8 last night in the Atenza (car isn't that fun to race tbh, bit of a boat round corners, but it's got that straight line speed). Slowly getting the hang of Gardens now. Still struggling to nail those consecutive corners before the hairpin. And the chicane is still a bit touch and go.

Got a 1:26.5 in the old Supra GT500 @ Brands Hatch. Had some good racing there too.

Race B is on RM's. Oh and they need bring back brake balance on BoP races.

Sorry, should have clarified I specifically meant GR3. The gr4 atenza situation is a legitimate problem / borderline bug. And dull as dishwater to drive to boot. I spent a little while with race b qualy but it was a slog

I was in a race yesterday where it was all Atenza (and a couple of WRX), and the 3 other cars (I think a Supra, AMG, and Lexus) were all at the back on the grid, and they finished at the back too lol. No doubt they'll nerf the Atenza.

It is heaps of fun to drive the Suzuki Swift in race B, just to see how many Atenzas you can beat. What makes the Atenza so op is that it's just too stable; you can get the power down almost immediately without any fear of spinning it.

I just had a race C race where the guy starting in p2, I was p3, has the jump start bug. His first lap was 1.17 😂

Somehow he managed to finish 2nd. What a noob 😆

Um.....I'm really struggling with Race C, i know where i'm going wrong.... i'm just not good/brave enough to exploit the oversteer all the cars have, and Brands is a track you really need to be confident at....your literally usually only cms from binning it. Race B i'm miles better had some good results but only when i was in the Atenza, tried other 4wd cars but it was just impossible to compete with the Mazda. Hopefully PD take all the data they are getting and sort out the BOP

For me it´s pure marketing (What brand is on the cover of the Game?)
Same happens with the stupid VGT Mazda rx vision Gr3. OP af
In GTS was the Toyota Supra concept, now is mazda.

I've personally been having a blast in Race C, Winning 3 in total, even though the game glitched and froze during the finishing screen and I had to restart, adding insult to injury, it did not record the win. I've been using the Aston and so far it seems to be miles faster than the RCZ on Brands Hatch.

I did just have this amazing race with a F. Garcia this morning. Video below. Probably one of my best and most intense races. I started in 3rd and managed to get around 2nd pretty quickly. Garcia was a solid 1.3 seconds ahead for a few laps and I waited patiently for my chance to attack which came around lap 3 or 4. I put the pressure on as hard as I could, sitting on his bumper at every corner, but that man did not cave at all. I attempted to attack at "West Field" twice and both times, I had to back out. I knew where I was faster than he was, but then he attempted to try and Under cut me and pit last second on lap 6, (I normally pit during Lap 7/8) which ended up with me tapping his car as he pulled in. I received a 4 second penalty for that little kiss, smh. This momentarily threw my attention off and I put down the slowest lap of my race pitting on this lap.

Lucky for me, his undercut didnt work as planned as he ended up in tons of traffic and I came flying out the pits right behind Garcia, who was behind a Z4 that spun out and hit him in corner 1, slowing him down considerably. I took the opportunity and charged ahead, only to put myself into the dirt and barely saving it a few laps later. From there It was once again a tight race till the very end...

TLDR: It was a super intense battle for 1st with a pit strategy gone wrong...

The difference is in the kerbs and grass. In GT Sport touching an inch of grass was often a death sentence. In GT7 you still have most of your grip on the grass and don't easily spin out. The banana peel kerbs are also gone. A lot of cars in GT Sport were instant goners when touching a kerb in the wrong place.

It's not the settings either, I do a lot of custom races with track grip set to real and it's much more forgiving than in GT Sport.

Did another Brands Hatch race today, was the fastest non RCZ car (Ford GT) in terms of qualifying (P6), and finished P6. Had a good battle with an aggressive 911 RSR who pounced when I'd least expect it.

Also, am I the only one who does a tire change with the typical refueling? I like fresh rubber and going all out.

Did 2 races and changed tires on both. This is not a track I want to mess with bad tires.

Both races were really fun and competitive. I’m loving this game right now. I wish I was home playing it 😆

Had two goes at race B earlier. Got my q time down to a 1:39, which normally sees me starting somewhere between 3rd and 7th. Managed to pick up a 2nd and a third after lurking menacingly in people's mirrors, and then capitalising on their mistakes. Also, three wide around turn one is ... fun.

Having loads of fun despite the mediocrity on Race B using either my GR.4 Supra (very fun drive, never did try it in GTS), or my recently acquired via ticket GR.4 Mustang. Quali is stuck at 1.39.4 but I know I can beat that in the newer car,i just need to link up all my best sectors.

Clean, hard racing all around in low-A/high B lobbies. Genuinely competitive in the middle of the pack and constantly proving that consistency is the only way in a non meta car. Mostly been going up positions each race thanks to mistakes by the others.

That Mazda might be fast but it doesn't go anywhere in the sand!

I got 2 race B wins last night simply by not crashing.
First one I started 3rd. Pole binned it between the two parts of the chicane on lap one and the guy who inherited the lead binned it at the left before the quad right on lap 2. I was driving quite poorly, so the guy behind was all over me until he binned it on lap 3 at the same spot the previous guy. Easy win!
Next race started second and watched pole spin coming out of the chicane on lap two. The guy behind kept making mistakes and got caught in a battle, so easy win for me again.

Oh u guys dont have to refuel? Ive been using the C7 and absolutely need to refuel.
I tried a no stopper once driving like grandma, extreme short shifting, slipstreaming and coasting and still was short 2 laps worth of fuel.

Fourth time trying an online race and managed to do a qualifying lap 1.5 seconds faster than the next guy, so starting first was very satisfying! This was in race B with the Viper Gr4.

Held onto 1st the whole 4 laps and 2nd place only got to within 2 seconds of me the whole time. Very happy man here 😄🥳🥳
