Anyone think the penalties should be toughened up? Obviously, SR is taking hits for contact, but maybe a few 1/2 sec penalties here and there would clean these races up.

People aren't even trying to avoid contact. They don't care about SR, just the finishing position.

Interesting that an S15 is now second on the leaderboards. If that time had been set on Monday maybe the reception of this race C could've been different since people would've been able to go to brand central and buy the car. Potentially there might have been a different meta, but even if the sileighty eventually still turned out to be better and the meta car, at least people would've thought the s15 was viable and worth using initially. And most importantly I think some of the streamers which completely skipped this one would've given it a try, and their influence on the small daily race community shouldn't be underestimated. Such a shame the race got leaked and people spent the weekend tuning cars, and it ended up being the sileighty they got the most out of, and all the talk was about how you would need glitches or engine swaps to compete. Shame on pd for not having all the cars in the UCD and allowing daily races to be leaked in the first place though I guess.

Seems like only just over 17000 have set a time for daily race c so far. Seems low but not sure what's normal to he honest.

GT7 has affected my IRL driving in weird ways. I’m always looking for the best line around any corner now, and I sometimes get a little too close to people and instinctively want to bump them out of my way, but the worst is whenever it rains: I’m expecting my car to randomly fly off the road for no reason at all! White knuckle driving when there’s ANY moisture on the road!

In other news, I’ve been fiddling with the Sileighty tune from @praiano63 for a couple of days. The first day I couldn’t figure out why I wasn’t able to come anywhere near the right settings, so I gave up an ran the car as I had it, only to realize once I got in the race that it was the wrong car d been working on!

I did eventually tune my Sileighty and it’s turned out pretty well. I’ve got a little bit mor performance in a couple of minor ways, and I’ve significantly softened the rear suspension because I prefer a softer rear end (heh heh heh). I can’t touch @Leon Kowalski but I’m chipping away at his time.

Regardless, my racing has been pretty horrid. I randomly fly off the road for no reason other than I lose focus. I lost a couple sure P1 finishes because I was so far ahead I got bored and forgot what I was doing! But I think today I’ve found some consistency and was able to get a trifecta in my most recent race.

By the way, has anyone seen the races for next week yet?

Earlier a guy was jutting in and out of traffic and went into the shoulder. Was waiting for the little red 1.0 second penalty to appear above his car but....nothing.

PD get your **** together.

I think the problem is that SR isn't actually tied to anything meaningful. Like yes, I can't increase my DR ahead of my SR but that doesn't stop me from setting a fast time and tanking my SR so that my DR puts me in lobbies where I'm P1 because of my time.

You can farm wins/credits pretty handily that way. I think if SR was meaningful in some way to gameplay/credits earned people would probably care more.
Ultimately I don't think there's a fix. People with a lower SR clearly don't care that much about improving it. People with an already high SR are naturally gravitating towards whichever lobbies their natural DR lands them in.

Next weeks Daily Races are supposedly

Daily A - Brands Hatch GP
Daily B - Dragons Trail Reverse
Daily C - Willow Springs - Big Willy

I don’t know what cars or groups will be used as they not released that yet.

Well I tried to beat the META again :)

I think Beat The Meta works best when there's a race limit. It does run counter to the idea that you're going for race victories in each of the available cars in GR.3 and GR.4 but there should be enough dailies across the year that it won't really matter. And it'll make end of year even more spicy if you're not quite there yet.

Thanks for the great content, fun as always!

After doing the Manufacturers race last weekend, I’m wondering if requiring a qualification phase before the dailies would teach people to clean things up. If they try to do their crazy rubs during qualifications they’ll get horrible positions from losing time. Maybe people will eventually learn that clean racing is faster.

Or not.

What's your source? Nothing from Nenkai, yet.

In-built qualifying would fit in nicely with a 40-45 minute long Daily D - but of course more dailies is long sought after, and yet never granted.

I have the S15 but I was having trouble getting a good tune. Currently it is a 507HP 365 ft-lb 688PP monster. I can tune it down to 345hp and approx 301 ft-lb but can't seem to get the PP below 617 now... So instead I'm racing a 180SX which is currently proving top be fairly competitive. I'm liking the race C. Happy all the fast guys are on race b which leaves the the opportunity to get some good spots :)

Don’t know how reliable it is as I only found this site today

For Daily Race C I would like to see a 5 mins qualifying session, but it won’t happen. The only downside to adding quali is you will lose 2/3 laps from the races to make them fit into the half hour slots.
It only occurred to me last week at Le Mans why the race was only 5 laps.
Firstly you have to set a race distance that will allow the slower players in the game to complete the race within the 30 mins. E.g. 10 laps race. DR A+ driver will finish in 20mins but your DR D could finish the race in 25 mins. Adding a quali session or even a few extra laps would mean A+ finish in 25 mins, which is fine, but your lower ranks could take it over the 30mins.
Also the other issue if dynamic weather is going to be used now, again PD will have to make races shorter as laps are increased and will have to cater for the lower DR’s.
Daily C should stay as it is but add a Daily D race that runs every hour. Quali and 40 mins race.

@GOTMAXPOWER is known for watching NASCAR on a different screen while racing.
Does that count?
I know people for whom that would definitely count!
I feel like they're totally different things, you don't need any hands free for watching sport 😂
I've got a great reply to that, but I don't think the moderators would appreciate it.
Been enjoying Race B a lot this week. Had this close call happen last night, talk about being in the right place at the right time.
That was awesome! Just sliiiide right on by. 👋

Dragon Trail Gardens Gr3 again (on hards, again) and another Fuel Saver Gr.4 race.. on hards!

Yeah, see you the week after. What an absolute miss after the past 2 weeks of creativity.

Weeks like this to me are immensely disheartening for the game as a whole. It has genuinely nothing going for it for me except the online races (of which there are three..) and so when they suck I just don't really have a game to play. They can do so much better than what they actually do.

I'll see some of you on A probably, me and Kowalski normally have a fun leaderboard competition.

That S15 is a most definitely an outlier. But again, all seven cars this week have tunes, swapped and non-swapped, that can be broken and make them competitive, the Sil80 just happens to be the fastest.

Racing at race B with an A/B rating, the game isn't really sure what to do with me.
They'll put me with the A+/S crowd, where I start around 13th, then with the B/B crowd, where I start in the top 3.
It's an adjustment. Those two races are definitely not the same. :scared:
This has been my situation for daily races since this game game out except with me at B rank. Whatever DR I gain in regular B lobbies puts in the higher lobbies. I start in the back where I lose the DR I gained. Then get put back in the regular B lobbies and then repeat that cycle. I also seem to be collateral damage like in the video clip you posted yesterday. I'll get out of B one day.

As for next weeks races, I think it's time I learn Big Willow. The track is fine, but I've had struggles there with daily races on GT Sport. I'm sure it will be a fuel saving race in the end, which is fine, but a bit annoying trying to do.

Switched to the 155 for race B finally because I felt like it had better precision in tight crowds and quicker when pace was knocked down due to traffic. WRX was a miserable experience last night as I was not feeling it and after two races I stopped to regroup and keep from ruining others races due to control issues up through the tunnels when taking it offline due to traffic.

Started off with 20 or so Q laps and felt ready to go since I was running consistently within.5 or less of my best time from the WRX.

Did 5 races and enjoyed the 155 for what it could do and did my best to draft down the straight when possible.
First two races were top 5 and then I got caught in too much carnage in the next two races with p16 (punted by the former p16 on the final lap because he was special) and then a hard fought p11.
Wanted to finish on a high note and during qualifying before the next race I did a new best time that awarded me with a p3 start. The race was fun but somewhat uneventful as I chased p1 & p2 for the first 3 laps but by lap 4 they pulled enough to break the slipstream so I had to push harder to not end up with a WRX drag racing to the finish on the final lap. I ran consistently and kept the gap finishing p3 for the night and fun time racing in all of the races tonight no matter the end results.

Grumpy now has work to do because his Q time is now a notch lower than he was earlier this evening 😉
Thanks for the incentive.

Now it’s time to go practice for manu race tomorrow.

You should try the Megaine... I've gotten into the 133's with it and it can hang with both the wrx and 155

Will do! Thanks for the tip. Sometimes a car works well for some but not for everyone. Could be a sleeper.
I took the rcz out first thing tonight but after nearly beating my qt on the first lap with it i quickly made lots of mistakes trying to push it and never got the right feel for it to be consistent for racing tonight.

That's what it's going to be. Although I have a slight doubt that you'll have fun seeing me being one second slower than yourself... but I'll do my best... 😆

The rest, yeah. Same here. Gr3 on Dragon Trail, not my cup of tea. And I'd actually like the Race C combo, if they'd just make the pit stop mandatory so it's not a fuel saver, and... (insert anyone's rant from the last ten months here)...🤬

I went and forth with starting positions, and I don't think it had anything to do with my DR (B) or my SR (S...B...S). Literally every other race alternated from my starting high, to me starting in the middle.

I haven't been able to budge my QT for a few days, so you may have won this one, unless the Megaine turns out to help.
