Well I just tried a @praiano63 tune on my '94 K Type - and went a whole second faster! (thank you  ) 2:14.1 to 2:13.1 - with an optimum of 2:12.8 so far..
I kept my previous gearing as I was going to have to re-learn where and when to change. I can probably go a bit quicker if I adjust 3rd and 4th gear. The PP was also lowered, so I can now fit the carbon brakes - likely rear end a few Sileighties now though

Yeah beware of braking points, especially if you end up in my slipstream...😆
Right before the chicane, I have to hit the brakes way before the 150 board, while the cars with racing brakes can wait until the 100 board. Don't kill me, I'll just move over...🤣

Dragon Trail Gardens Gr3 again (on hards, again) and another Fuel Saver Gr.4 race.. on hards!

Yeah, see you the week after. What an absolute miss after the past 2 weeks of creativity.

Weeks like this to me are immensely disheartening for the game as a whole. It has genuinely nothing going for it for me except the online races (of which there are three..) and so when they suck I just don't really have a game to play. They can do so much better than what they actually do.

I'll see some of you on A probably, me and Kowalski normally have a fun leaderboard competition.

Agree with all of it. Literally. Will likely be doing TTs against the friends list and doing the boring 1P stuff on the new account to unlock stuff and knocking out the CE for easy money.

I mean, I just don't get it. There are so many other tracks in this game. Gr4 at Willow is new, but if it's a fuel saver I am out. WRX fest... again. Fuel saving races are the worst.

Grumpy now has work to do because his Q time is now a notch lower than he was earlier this evening 😉
Thanks for the incentive.
I haven't been able to budge my QT for a few days, so you may have won this one, unless the Megaine turns out to help.
@Gearbanger - I take it back. I just turned 1:33.249 in the Alfa, and there's more where that came from. I had been chasing my own ghost, which was a mistake because it didn't show me anything new. I got a leaderboard leader's ghost (there aren't many with the Alfa and a replay - maybe only one), and it took a few laps, but I saw several places where I was losing time. I didn't nail any of them, and still improved my time, because of better lines. So unless I'm delusional and this is my limit, I expect even better times.

Oddly enough, there wasn't really any time to be gained up to the second tunnel. I mean, I don't always nail it up to there, but it's not that difficult and I can usually match the leader up until the second tunnel. The places where I lose time are:
  1. In the second tunnel, I've been carrying a tad to much speed up to the apex, so I couldn't accelerate hard enough after it.
  2. My line out of the tunnel into the downhill right-then-left turn can be better - more shallow so it's a straighter line through the turns down the hill. That looks really promising, and I only noticed it as I was setting this time, so I haven't played with it yet (it's time for breakfast now). But I've always lost time there during the race, and now I know why.
  3. I've always struggled with the left-hand turn that leads to going up the hill. I just couldn't match the line and speed correctly, and if I tried to, I kept getting a penalty. Watching how the leader took that corner opened my eyes. No guarantee I can repeat it regularly, but if I can, boy will it help during the race!
  4. I'm hit or miss when it comes to the final hairpin. But when I followed the leader, I realized my original idea of how to attack that corner was correct - I had changed to a different line based on another leader's replay. But my original line is much more comfortable to me, and this driver takes that line, so I think I can improve there too.
I say all this with a HUGE nod to the god who oversees "famous last words" - you are supreme and I am but your lowly servant. Please allow this unworthy one to avoid your awesome punishing power, so I may continue to serve you well. Amen.

I more than winningly traded in some horsepower for Racing brakes on my current 180SX tune. Stock brakes were making things... complicated.

Really appreciate you uploading one of your replays @GrumpyOldMan . It really helped and got me under 1.34. Post a 1.33.7 after watching it.

Can I go faster?. Sure. Do I have the desire?....now that is the quesion.

Just jumped on to race c, was quite competitive after a few test laps with my own attempt at a tune. Fastest lap was 2:17 I was on 2:20. Usually come nowhere near on tuning races

I had a very pleasant Q1/P1 this morning, where I absolutely ran away with it. P2 ended up being over 9.4s behind, which is insane. As for my current stats, I've done forty races, and of those forty, I've placed in the top five for thirty of them. In other words, that's exactly 75% of all races I've done in Sport Mode so far.

I've been only renting a Mono so far, even though I have one of my own that I used for the Trial Mountain endurance - but after today's win, I decided to celebrate, in a sense, by making a very simple custom livery for my own Mono. I decided to add number stickers, my racing name, and some tastefully-placed sponsor stickers for Michelin, BBS, Brembo, UnderSteer Engineering, Puma, Arai, Polyphony Digital and GT, and BAC itself. (For that last one, I love the way the white version of the BAC logo looks on the black rear wing.)

So my "reward" for setting a decent QT in daily race B was to be placed in a lobby of all A/A+/S drivers (I'm a very high B/S), starting P10. But I was competitive, never felt outmatched, and finished P9, which gained me literally 1 pixel on the DR percent bar, or about 1.54%. Which beats losing DR, for sure. It was a fun, clean race. I was surprise that pole was an Alfa.

Awesome - thanks for letting me know! I totally understand about the desire. In the end, I want to race others, so it's hard to balance getting a decent QT vs. actually racing.

Daily B is a mess today. Out of 5 races only made it to lap two without contact/wreck in front of me once. Also SR seems to be really sensitive the past couple of days.

Probs running Dragon Tail next week. I'll throw a time down for Big Willow but I don't expect it to be great. I hope Big Willow isn't a fuel saver as fuel races are the worst kinds of races possible.

PD be like: "Seems the Sport players are having a bit too much fun... better tone it down a bit 💀"

Nice work on the QT and for raising the bar! You’ll enjoy the extra challenge in the higher lobbies because that’s what builds confidence and experience levels when you’re able to compete with pace instead of hanging on for dear life.

I can attest to the fact it's brutal today. No "nice guy" racing, that's for sure. Get your elbow and knee pads on!

I'm about to start my Big Willow testing now.
I'll report back with my findings.
If I can find a clearly superior car and/or strategy, I'll be happy to share it with ya'll. :gtpflag:

I tried to get on it some time ago, but I couldn't send you a request. Don't remember if it was due to some settings or if I didn't find it. May I make another try?
Yea it may be privacy settings. PSN can be finicky sometimes, too. I've searched for people and it says they don't exist (I have multiple accounts and am already friends with them, and I checked 1000x I spelled everything right). Try again five minutes later and it finds them.

Next time I am on, I'll look you up.

Lie to us and tell us it's not a fuel saver.

I gotta tell you, that V8 Vantage can be one fast mofo on the straights. I was on pole, and he was finally able to run me down on the last lap, by .07 seconds. It's scary to be maxed out in an Alfa, and see the Vantage coming up on you with nothing to do but either be dirty, or just live with it. I thought about dirty, but went with living with second place to a faster driver.

No! Bad G.O.M.! Don't even think it! Bad!

Wow, these new dailies are great! "Why?" some may I ask.. I tell you🙃 There is Mafia Definitive Edition in februarys PS Plus, so plenty of time to play it😂
But seriously... Why PD???

Well, I still have a long ways to go. But so far I've tested the AWDs, and while some are clearly better than others, none can go flat-out for the whole race.
I'm hoping to find a rear, or front drive car that goes fast and gets good fuel-economy. :D

I think personally my mindset plays a lot in to performance.

First few races I'm cautious and let a quicker person through, bring a top 5 home, a few more races and quicker lobbies I do the same but they are 3-7th place or last. Then "I try" and that's when it goes worse for me. It becomes nervous and twitchy the paranoia gets to me, as a result my race times are slower (positions are useless without actual race pace) so I now am just focusing on race time now lap to lap as traffic, tires dictate that. Especially when you are racing peeps quicker you
