Downgraded cars seem to always dominate - it was the same in Sport too. Not sure what the best thing to do is but I'd probably just disable the ability to use cars that have a ballast or power limiter in use. Would solve most of that problem.

Adding weight to a 911 to race a bunch of Golfs. Joke.
Taking power off surely? Race B has a 295hp limit, not a PP limit. No 911 from this century is eligible without shucking power - even the 930 only just meets it (and is 100kg over the minimum weight, so it'd need to lose weight to be competitive too).
How do you de-tune the 911 ?

Speaking of which, is it time for a daily race discussion forum since they're starting to take off?

As for Race B, it seems the 991 GT3 is just unstoppable. It's grip and acceleration are like it's on completely different tires and has another 50 hp. I've been fiddling with a GR Yaris and Focus RS and have won 1/10 races so far but that's only because there weren't GT3s in that race. Just now I was chasing a person and they were "kind" enough to slow down at the last hairpin and we drag raced to the finish line...despite all the power curve manipulation I could do to the Yaris, the GT3 simply walked away. No challenge. And even with full weight reduction and ballast rearward, the GR can't even come close to the amount of grip and stability the GT3 has. Totally OP, it's kind of ridiculous. The Focus RS seems pretty good too, more stable and easier to drive than the Yaris, but again the grip levels and acceleration are virtually the same. Any rear-drive car besides the GT3 is just completely useless. Somehow that Porsche is exiting corners more effectively than fully turned AWD cars and accelerating at speed at a rate way higher than its power-to-weight would suggest. To be fair, I haven't actually driven the GT3 yet but frankly I don't want to spoil my qualifying time lol.

Speaking of grip levels, the GT3 is blessed with awkwardly massive tires so maybe that's the secret. Has anyone discovered whether or not the extra tire width resulting from a widebody actually effects grip?

Kinda lame that only one car can compete in this first round of races. That wasn't a problem in GTS all the way up until A+ drivers entered the mix. Any group below that could have various successful cars running due to BoP but these HP and weight limitations don't factor in cars' various other properties.

I got the platinum trophy in GTS but I must admit I am afraid to jump into Sport Mode in GT7. Seems like a lot of money is needed for testing car/upgrade combinations with uncertain results.
I should've added that I've spent $500,000 credits just today experimenting for both races. Conclusion: If you want to win, drive whatever the top stars are driving. We've got some ringers on our hands.

Edit: I've figured out how to get the Yaris into the 1:41s and just beat a B-rated Porsche. He outqualified me by over a second...I beat him by a tenth. Nice.

Tuning is a great addition and I will be racing a lot on my alternate account, but seeing that I lost SR after the race yet there not being any indication of SR up or down during the race, Sport is simply too incomplete to risk a DR reset. If DR resets don't exist in GT7 and SR up or down during the race is shown like in GT Sport, I may race more on my main account.

Also, I tried the 1994 Skyline that has the fastest time, but I'm about half a second quicker in the 2002 Viper. For anyone willing to spend the money, maybe give it and the 2006 Viper a try.

Join me! It's ****ing great. Let go of your ego - it's more fun that way! ;)
When you do, we can exchange tuning, setting and driving tips.
Also, target daily race B, until C is released, of course.

(And by the way, there's nothing wrong with the game. I and many others drive consistently with only ABS.)

So after spending the weekend grinding away on tunes for daily race B, I thought I was doing well then got passed up in the 911 GT3 like I was standing still in some VGT car so I went out and bought one myself... two laps in and knocked multiple seconds off my time down to 38 flat with plenty to go..

Started the weekend off at A+/S and few races in nearly got reset down to A/B but after about 60 races I'm finally back to A+/S

Not sure how guys are doing 32s in r32 GTRs, that's ridiculous.

I've been competitive though using the 911 GT3, VGT car, R34 GTR, gt350r, 06' Ford GT & the Focus RS.

Glad to be back

GT7 is definitely a breath of fresh air. It really helped for me just tuning the gear ratios to stay in the Powerband and getting peak power where I need it.

My only knock is the fact if you go to far with a tune you can't remove the parts? So if you screw up and get little too invested car is useless and need to buy another copy to get into that 295hp mark.

One massive oversight they forgot to include was displaying the fastest lap during each Daily Race. I always thought it was amusing when the person finishing 2nd was ripping off laps and putting pressure on the leader. A tiny bit of bragging rights if you ask me.

I believe it's because of the amount of players currently online. Most folks are either grinding away in career mode or can't afford to tune etc plus there's a lot of people who just haven't bought the game yet.

I've only played career until I unlocked sport and haven't touched it since.

It's a lot of fun starting near the front and then all the awd cars just swarm you going into T1 then you have to methodically work your way past them eating them up in the curves in the 911 GT3

Yeah but 6 seconds! You shouldn’t even have a differential like that on a 90 second lap. Dr C rated driver would easily be within 6 seconds of an A+ driver without tuning.

I mean sure, you could just split the grid in half and just keep the A+ drivers in the lobby but then there's no risk if they lose tbh meanwhile if a C rated driver gains positions they would easily move up thru the ranks.

Assuming they used the same math as before however it was calculated, lol.

i bought all the parts for the car and it did r upgrade my pp maybe i added to many parts but now i can’t complete menu book 6 it’s like my car is stuck at 250pp

I don't like the new sport mode aswell, there is no contact penalties, you need a lot of credits in order to tune a car, etc. I stay on gt sport until it changes in the future

I don't like the fact that Sport mode isn't cross platform compatible so if you're on a ps4 you can't play with anyone using a ps5

You're kidding? I swore it was gonna be crossplay! What about online lobbies?

Edit: Everything I'm reading suggests it's crossplay.

I like the fact that running is back as its the original GT way. The fact we get to choose our cars and race how we like is cool. I still think however Gr.4, Gr.3 and Gr.1 races should have it disabled but Road Car race's should always allow tuning. Either way im loving the sport mode on this already and I can't wait to see what comes next.
