Yeah, well, that didn't last long. Took a break, then DNFed the next race. I hate this game (not really).

Reminds me of the time I was playing golf, and I shot one of the best rounds of my life - a 76. Next week, 96. How does the same person go from doing so well to doing so poorly? I don't know, but if it's gonna happen to anyone, it's gonna happen to me.

Thanks, and yeah, if I had been thinking rationally, I would have just slid in behind him also. Too many Macho Burritos, or something like that.
I once had a friend tell me that as long as I played golf to have fun, I’d enjoy it and do well, but the moment I expected to do well I’d stop enjoying it. He was right. I suspect it applies to GT7 as well!

I ran more Race C sessions this week than I’ve done in a long time. I quit worrying about my rating and just tried to do my best. I did horribly as often as I did well, but my DR went up and I learned a lot, so I feel like I won in the end. I finally tackled the GT-R and did ok, gained confidence in my ability to shift strategies on the fly, and beat out some A+ guys on occasion. I’m going to try Race C next week, although Gr2 is not my best. But it looks like it could be some fun strategy again!

Congrats! It was fun racing with you! I was running the G70 most of the week which was definitely slower but enjoyed being "different" while still being competitive. If I really want to be able to keep up with you 'A' drivers, I will need to drive the meta sometimes too lol.

Great racing and well done!

I know race B was not kind to many of you this week, but it was to me. had some really good races and racing through the week.

I have 2 vids to share. the first is just two short clips that show me side by side through a couple turns with someone, and although he gets the better of me, I stayed close enough to pressure him into a mistake 1 lap later.

the second is 5:22 from the middle of a race this morning that is a great example of the kind of racing I was able to partake in this week. first shown in tv style replay then from my driving point of view. I do wish however that I was able to have the radar on in the second part, as that is how I race, not with the map....

not sure about this weeks races, might just focus on the time trial....

First video: Marlboro livery behind was so shocked at the cleanliness he committed suicide 😂

Wow I was curious about PSVR2 and it's going to be about what I paid for the console!
I can’t justify the cost the buy one right now. I just see this been like the 3d tv glasses fad from 10 years ago. Try it a few times and then sits in a corner collecting dust.

1st time in months were I didn’t enter a single Daily Race last week. Jumped on for a little bit to do some TT laps on Daily C and I quite enjoyed just lapping the track in a few different non meta cars. Set my fastest lap in a Hyundai 🤣 (i do like that Hyundai to be honest).
Tried Daily C last night in a quick lobby and I’m way off pace. Quickest lap I could was about 1.48. Might try and do a race this week. I do quite fancy racing the Gr2 cars.

Same here, almost. Three different races, all with built-in carnage guarantee, so I decided to do only races A where it matters the least (and it was okay as soon as I stopped starting from the back).

I'm typically about half a second off you from track to track and I blasted that circuit last week and genuinely have no idea how you pulled that time out of the Hyundai. I like the car too but the speed was just not there for me in it.

I couldn't reach it in my best cars for the week.

Might not win you nowt but congrats.

Haha not sure really? I’ve always liked the way the Hyundai drives, and it’s always been one of those cars for me that if I struggle at a track, I can just jump in it and do a decent lap.
Is Daily B this week Gr3s? If so I’ll try and set a lap in the Hyundai again

I have a feeling next week Race B might not go well for me... seeing people at 1:40 and even 1:39. Best I can muster is low 1:42 with Jag. Tried GTR and porsche 911... similar times. I'm going to try some other cars tonight.

Any DR-B drivers on forum try this yet?

Although the start of last week I was a ways off the pace and got myself back into respectable qualies
I'm occasionally DR B, though not at the moment. Will have a spin tonight in the RSR and Mustang and see what times are like.
A few overtaking chances there (in B lobbies anyway), so even with a slower qualification time it should be fine for racing and picking up some spots.

:D

Thanks to everyone for the feedback, especially @Nebuc72, @Andy M and @newmedia_dev for their responses, which will make me sleep better tonight (instead of waking up sweating like "oh no, what have I done!" 🤣)

Just one additional question: is the PS5 downward compatible in general? I mean, can my kids install their PS4 games on it, too?
No only you can use the console. The kids are automatically locked out of downloading their games. :)

This was so much fun to watch it makes me want to start playing in chase cam again like I used to do, but I’m afraid I’d be too distracted if I tried to do it now!
I prefer it because you can see more of what is going on around you, the other cars only become a distraction when they're close enough that you should be worried, in a way it's kind of like having a spotter.

Somebody needs to get rid of this wall. It has single-handedly ruined every single qualifying lap I've done in an entire hour. I'm not even exaggerating.
I am in mental anguish. Defeated by a wall.

Look, the overtakes are great and all, but I’m more interested in how you asserted the mind control to make the divebomber at turn 5 escort himself to Barry R.
Haha 🤣, that was a YouTuber called Bob, if I know how he races he would've been doing anything possible to avoid contact even if it took himself out. One of the cleanest players on the game.

That was soooooo good, I had to make you a reaction video. It's short - just 30 seconds, but it says what I think most of us who watched your video would say:

That is incredible! 😂

It's a reverse layout, you have to expect walls to be in stupid positions, corners to tighten randomly on the exits, the track to have no flow, etc But at least it adds to the total in game /s

So I've run about 15 laps of Race B qualies in the Jaguar and my time is 1:42:090. I can likely get that down to about 1:41:500 but I'm consistently in the 1:42s.

Going to try the RSR now. Seems faster.

Well, ran two laps in the RSR 911 and crushed the 1:42 barrier. Was able to get 1:41:223! Saved the replay in the showcase for everyone tagged gtp8. If I ran it about 50 more times I should be able to get into 1:40s but I figure would be best to just race now for a while and get to know the track that way (while hopefully getting a podium or two!). Will try tonight!

Anyone tried the race, what QT times are people lining up with? BS driver.

Have you tried slowing down? Heh

I trail brake right after the second turn leading into that wall and drop to 3rd in the NSX or 4th in the Nissan. Being an MR, the Honda likes to rotate a bit more, but the Nissan is more stable in that section. I’m not a world beater by any means, but I’ve gotten a flow through that section that leads into the long-nosed turnaround.
