Put in some more qualy time at Brasil and the sequence of events was funny. Previous time was 1:32:2.

After 10 laps I improve to a 1:32:016 and I thought it was as good as it gets. A few laps later and boom, do a 1:32:005 and match the exact time Mr @Leon Kowalski has 🤣

2 laps later.. Boom 😎 1:31:846 😁

Am I the only person who detests all three of these tracks?!
No... no you're not.

This is the third of the last four weeks one of Maggiore's layouts has been a track in the Dailys.

If there's two mandatory slicks at C, that's unlikely...
FWIW

I agree that it seems contradictory to require two sets of slicks in a 10 lap race where it could rain. It would be kinda cool if PD did it like F1, where as soon as one uses IMs or W tires there is no more tire usage requirement.

FWIW to your FWIW :P

Important safety tip: Don't do this, then touch your brakes - especially on the last laps when you're in P1:

The 911 doesn't come alive until you turn TC to 0. That's where it's strength lies. I had it set to 3 before and was always slow in it.
I have it set to 1, not 3. But I'll certainly give it a shot at 0.
But the real truth is that I enjoy my time in the livery editor as much as I enjoy my racing.
It's more like 70/30 racing for me, which is probably why I have less than 10 liveries for the 911. 😂
It will be hard and it will be tedious but it is doable and once done it's done for good
Yeah, except it's the "hard" part of that, that always makes me quit before the "done" part. Hence my still relying on TCS. But I'm rooting for you!

I don't detest Suzuka, it's a magnificent trace track but I have huge issues there. The Esses on D-pad are just traumatic, middle of the lap is OK then I get to Spoon and NEVER hit it right so get killed on the straight. I then have absolutely NO IDEA how folks take the final chicane so fast and get such a good exit. So i am horribly slow, just horrible. At a track I like I can maybe, maybe nudge within 2% of the top time, Suzuka, never ever inside 5%, even then it's a one off
Well, those are mostly the reasons why I detest Suzuka, so potato, potahto. . .

Now THAT would make things interesting! I can only hope they finally give us real decisions for tire strategy! Even though I’m likely to go “Team Ferrari” and make every wrong tire decision every single race!
:dunce:

There's East End and East. Looks like yours is East End.

East Reverse will make for about a 6:40 long race, which is still short.
That one is East, East End is just the right hand side of that (was used in the DS race in Nations)

Edit: nvm misread

Nebuc how do you do in the Nations Cup or MFRS series? Your times are absolutely bonkers. Another planet.
I'm currently the 6th ranked driver for the United Kingdom for Nations, and 5th highest for Lamborghini (though the manu race for Lamborghini was pure luck, as the Gr.4 car is comically underpowered).

Will get a better sense of where I can position for tomorrows race at Spa; though I expect to stay around the same point. I know Will Murdoch has signed for Lambo as well and there's not a chance I'll beat him lol.

I'm surprised there are so many people here using d-pad, assists and even AT. You look really fast to me and I had the idea that fastest drivers only use ABS.

After 20 years I've made the new year resolution of going "triggers + sticks" instead of "buttons and d-pad" (really easy), manual transmission (easier than I thought) and disabling all assists except ABS (not having TCS is way harder than I thought). My plan wasn't to become faster (in fact I know I'm now slower with the fastest cars because I'm afraid of spinning), just to make it more realistic.

Or its a one stop vs two stop strategy.🤔 i.e. One mandatory pit for the RM/RH and a second optional to take IM/W depending on weather and timing. MIND BLOWN...lol.
Could be, but really it would have to be set to only rain the latter half of the race in that case so everyone can get the compound switch in.

It could work otherwise, but if it's entirely wet there's no place to switch between two dry compounds; so everyone will get a 1 minute penalty. Which would be an equal playing field, but it would be a very clunky implementation.

That's how I drive as well. It becomes second nature to run without TCS after a while.
I also run weak ABS when in road cars.

Wat..

On a more fun note, Race C fuels the flames of the SF23 rumours, as pre-testing for the SF23 was also at Suzuka.
I'm betting we get the SF23 teaser next weekend and the update will come on the 23rd (a Thursday!). It's too good to not be true.

yet another week of no thank you. at this rate I'm going to have to make a 3rd alt account just to remember how to drive it'll have been so long since I did dailies.

What if the race starts wet and then the tire changes have to be made as the track dries?

I think it depends on how you define "fastest drivers". I think it's safe to say that the vast majority of people at the top of the Qualifying leaderboards don't use assists, and some of them might not even use ABS.

With that said, yes, people can be reasonably quick and still use assists. But there'll always be people faster than you or me. The real question is, what gives you the most pleasure and joy? If turning off assists and driving more "realistic" is what's going to rock your boat, then by all means, go for it!! 20 years is a lot of habits to unlearn, but if you succeed, I would imagine it would make you feel pretty darn good.

Good luck!

That's more what I was thinking. Not a truly random weather. More like a fixed interval...like it rains one time for no more than two consecutive laps, but it could be at any random time...just to force that pit stop decision. Kind of like they did at LeMans a while back. Just a short burst to mess with people.

I think next week's B race will be fun. I ran some practice laps in the Porsche and there's plenty overtaking opportunities, especially coming out of corners so skill and lines will be rewarded. There's also a lot of areas to make mistakes.

I expect Monday/Tuesday to be a bloodbath but the race should come into its own later in the week.
