"Dageliijkse race kwalificatietijd"

I've heard rumours that the inventor of the password generator was a dutchman. :D
Maybe i should have set up the PS5 to English...
It is a peculiar language we have though. Used to have fun while in the army teaching other nations Dutch frases, which can not be repeated here off course...

I love how you are overwinning. Not just winning, but OVER winning!
Ik hou van de geur van napalm in de ochtend. Het ruikt als... overwinning!

Spent some time on qualifying for once. Tried a load of options for race C - the AMG was 4 tenths quicker than the nearest challenger (RSR) so that's my new ride. A 1:27 flat, good enough for 5th in DR C, optimum was a 26.5 which would be near pole.

Always the bridesmaid these days - it's starting to get a bit annoying.

Even 2nd was a good result. Had a totally deserved 5 second penalty on lap 1 for shunting P2 at the end of the back straight. I came off the brakes too soon, too much speed and pushed them into the barrier. Dropped me to 4th on lap 2, thought it would be worse but carnage behind. The 2 Suzukis ahead crashed out (I love that car but it's an understeering pig here) and I cruised the rest of the race. Finished 6 seconds back of another AMG (the polesitter) so I could have easily won without the lap 1 penalty.

Good news - back in the killer Bs. Bad news - not going to come close to a win anytime soon up there.

I swear, if I could hotlap even half decently I'd be quite good at this racing malarkey.

I have never been able to pinpoint what makes the C/S lobby better than the low-end B/S lobby. However, I think I may have discovered an answer through Daily Race B. It seems to me that low-end B/S folks are better qualifiers than C/S, but they lack the racecraft (feels more like D/C). I am not sure how this is possible, but they just are not very aware of their surroundings. Most crashes happen on the Kemmel straight, where they simply turn into another driver and take both of them out.

I miss the C/S lobby. In that lobby, I could be parallel to other folks throughout the track, even on T19, and never worry about getting hit. However, in the low-end B/S lobby, it is boring to not attempt overtaking, simply sit behind, and let them take each other out to advance up.

Ahhh, that's a shame. From coming thursday to sunday I'll be on a short holiday in your wonderful country. Maybe some of these could be useful for me... :D

I hate that I love this game so much…

I can honestly say that I truly enjoy this week’s daily races. As a fan of Gr.3 cars, I race these races the most. The same for this week and I do love Deep Forest with this amount of laps and the pitstops. But in some cases, the racing is terrible and the carnage unbelievable… Today I had my worst race ever. Enitially I had a good start and made up some places. But on lap 2 and onwards everything went downhill and I got punted twice. Even so hard that I had engine damage. That is a first for me. It is hard to say if they did it on purpose, but the struggle was real this time…

Nice I'm using the Audi R8 LMS evo '19

The fact i see hardly anybody else using it makes me wonder....but I find it an amazing car to use for this Daily race.
Not tried the Audi yet. Was going to try it but not got round to doing a lap yet. Not many use it due to the poor handling. Also I’m struggling to see which track this car would be good on.

Just like GTS. FF's to the fore with either the TT or RCZ being strong.
I don’t mind that something new is doing well, but it looks this will be the mega for a while now.

I’m loving race B! I’m not overly familiar with Group 2 and being new to a wheel/DD/load cell it’s an experience! But I feel like you can be properly fast in these cars with a smooth driving style. Got a nice podium in my second race and feels easy to get a clean race bonus in this one… does anyone think that race time is quick for B rated lobby (im a mid B) - 8:18.082!??

Still feels good after some real bad luck in the carnage of last weeks race C!
Yeah that seems proper rapid for a B rated lobby. Gives you something to chase though!

I feel like there are always one or two drivers in a lobby that punch above their class. Either they are running alt accounts, or they just don't play Sport much but are otherwise a very competent driver.

I noticed that in some of my European lobbies on my Normsk_GB account. Currently I'm D/S and I'm punching above the bulk of the lobby but then there are often a couple (Russian usually) that appear to be DR A capable but have a DR D rating. When I get them, they are usually pulling 4+ seconds a lap faster than the rest. I've finished one race where I was second and about 5 seconds ahead of third but first was 20+ seconds ahead of me in a six lap race. Crazy...

I've been frustrated and entertained in equal parts with race B this week. Loving that I can race as kind of a Troll by running the lone CLK in a field of Godzilla clones, but the racecraft is pretty shocking at times. Admittedly most of it last night was 2 known drivers who only pass by punting people and defend by running you off track, but they trashed 2 races out of what was a 4 race night.

On the othrr hand, the first race I had all night was one of the best. Started P7 and hustled that understeering Merc through sector 2 as mucb as I could, and despite some mistakes I still climbed to a great back and forth battle with for p2. In the end I lost out as we both made mistakes into the final chicane, me coming off the worst as he overshot on entry and I didn't think he was going to be able to come back on and didn't leave enough room on the second part. Me getting bounced wide was mostly deserved because of it, but annoying end to a great battle. I still prefer it ending with minor mistakes like that rather than the vindictive punters I had to see the next 2 races.

Also ran a couple of Q laps to drop to a 2:04.4 in the Merc now so hopefully I'm able to push to the front a bit more as that thing is so quick off the start

No, ‘16 😉
There's a '16 with a lower spoiler? How do you get it?
What car are you currently running in B? I own both the Nissans but have only used the '16. I find myself faster with that one over the '08. I haven't tried any of the other GR.2 options.
The '16 is the only one I'm using. I tried the '08, and it's definitely faster on the straights, but unfortunately there are those pesky curves to deal with. The RC-F seems competent, but I don't think it's better than the '16.

I just had my second race today. Started p3, got a little tap on T1 that I had to save, and I was p6 before the top of Raidillon. P7 before Les Combes. But I finished P5, so it wasn't horrible.

Greetings to @TechnoIsLove before I'm off for the rest of the week.

I was just contemplating writing a rant about how badly I suck with Gr2 cars, when this happened:

Purely accidental, i swear :D

#returnofthequalifyingnerds
"Sometimes the best things are accidental" that's what my dad replied when I asked him what made him and mum want to create me almost 39 years ago 🤣

Will try tomorrow evening and get back to you if I manage to beat your time 😉

in case anyone needs it as a ghost; I saved my fastest lap, you can find it using searching terms 'gtp', 'mcl', '123' or in my gallery:

laptime is 1.14.525 with the Audi TT:

and for those here not doing race A yet, this is a really awesome track and driving the gr. 4's here is a lot of fun!!
Thanks for that. I was at 15.3 and now down to 15.007. I can keep with you until the chicane, as I can get out of T1 very well, but you kill me through the chicane and coming out of the chicane into that tricky area we we have to scrub off a bit of speed and get to the inside.

Also, I can do the 2nd to last turn fine but the last turn has always been a time bleeder for me. Have tried braking early and late and nothing seems to catch.

Thanks again for sharing your ghost!!!

I know. And I know that there's historical animosity there. But that doesn't change that it's an Germanic language and as such there's similarities, as between the Roman languages. Like Spanish and Italian is similar in some sense so is Dutch, German and Danish.
And then there's English which is technically a Germanic language but shares no similarity with any other European language.

Through GT Auto. However with BOP on no aero changes would have an impact anyway.

@GrumpyOldMan

You can add it like the other cars like you change the wings frontlip rolecache.
But on default on gr.2 it is the smaler wing.
So it seems you didnt change it so you have already the smaller one on it.
I didn't know you could change the wing on the Gr2 GTR. Anyone have a screenshot of what it looks like?

Have only for the gr.2 honda right now.

But it looks the same for gtr and lexus etc.

@OJBrit

It hase an impact on the PP system, bop is hp and weight. It feels easyer to me catching guys on the straight with big wing than with small wing. But im not 100% sure.

If anyone's interested, the large wing is the high downforce package they ran in the 2016 Fuji race. Here's the real one compared to the normal wing.

But yes, as was mentioned - there's no performance difference between them under BoP, as BoP makes any visual part cosmetic only and uses the default values instead.

Any PP difference is irrelevant as a car under BoP will use the default aero package values regardless of its changes outside of BoP.
You can test this yourself in a road car race with BoP, a completely kitted out car with a wing, splitter etc. will perform identical to a car without it.

I'm quite sure you'll beat it. There's still a lot of improvement to be had (in fact, I still feel like I'm not nearly able to drive these high downforce cars the way I should, so the improvements came surprisingly and in bunches).

3 races at Spa for me tonight. Beforehand, I dropped my qualifying time down to a 2:05.3XX which had me wondering where that would put me on the grid.

The new time had me P4 to start and the only thing of note that happened was a car behind me missed their braking point and got into the back of me on the start of lap 2. Once they severed their penalty I cruised around and finished P4 with a clean race bonus.

Race 2 has me P2 on the grid and the opening lap was a mess. I went wide exiting La Source so a the front runners of us were all bunched up and it was totally chaotic. We settle down, but I accidentally murder a driver with a terrible track rejoin. I don't know why I thought I could force my way back on the way I did. I rightfully got called out for that mid race and I felt bad about it. I didn't save the replay so I can't even see what I did. I also don't know how I didn't get a penalty. I finish a very tainted P3.

Race 3 has me P3 to start and the universe paid me back for the murder I committed and I get dumped in La Source on the opening lap. In my panic to get going forward again, I can't get the car into reverse in a timely manner and I fall to P15. It doesn't get any better from there. As I try to make my way up the field, I'm pushing way too hard and making dumb mistakes and fall back down to P15 where I finish. Brutal race overall

So, 2 good finishes and 1 terrible finish for me. Well, I did destroy another driver so that one P3 was tainted. The combo is fun so far and I'm a bit rusty still with the Gr.2 cars, but a few more races will fix that. I did upload my qualifying time if anyone wants to check that out with the "gtp12" tag. Hopefully tomorrow will go better and I won't send anybody into the shadow realm on accident.
