I've seen someone use a Supra now so that made me happy, but they are rare in the wild!
I have been working through the cars in reverse PP order.
Here are my unscientific findings (I did this watching TV in between races - only 3x5min races per hour, and USA TV format is 45 min content per hour to accomodate 15 min adverts so it fits well)
Chiron - Smooth and stable, probably the best for this race along with the AMG. I went back and did this again to check, and yeah, this has the gearing to go through the 270mph range comfortably.
Huayra - Very nice but slightly less stable round the corners than the Chiron/AMG
Aventador LP 780-4 - I had a massive spin in this slidey boy. Sounds nice and revvy though. But no, choose something else.
AMG GT Black - Up there with the Chiron and looks like the META, it's very nice. It's also going to look very familiar by the weekend so you may want to try something different. If so, keep reading!
GTR Nismo 17 - Very stable but seems a little slow. It's a brick. Dependable but completely average.
Corvette ZR1 - Accelerates well at the start and just like its performance in the race it's downhill from there. Tiny bit of instability in the corners, not as bad as the Aventador but at least in the Lambo you stand a chance, the top speed just isn't there in the Chevy!
Viper GTS 13 - Same as the Corvette, you can't compete even when burning NoS! Although it's not unstable in corners, it does want to slide the back end out a bit to counter balance and lose you speed while doing so.
RX 7 - This little Rotary rev monster accelerates like a bat out of hell, took me from the back to the front on the first straight. Has a similar top speed to the previous US muscle despite only having 5 gears but has a better chance due to it's poke, being able to gain an early advantage and better take advantage of the slip stream seemed to give the RX7 some staying power or maybe it was just my luck in the slipstream. The danger is if you make too many small steering adjustments it quickly starts to pendulum and scrub way too much speed off. Probably the best of the old skool contenders. I see these way more than the Skyline or Supra.
R34 Skyline - The first thing you'll notice is the clunky gear change which alone makes this a bad choice as you lose so much speed relative to anyone else with each shift before even considering it is outclassed a bit in every other area too. Choose only if you are living the Fast and Furious dream and want every gear shift to feel like an epic event, a mechanical punch that gets you closer to God. But it won't get you closer to a win.
Supra RZ 97 - Not bad, but seems to struggle to hit the really high speeds.
