Don't like Road Atlanta, don't like RBR in GT racers, ouch.. time to catch up on some other games then. Shame as I'm off work next week too.
You could practice for Nations races. There's also two TTs going, with one of them being quite the monster!

Love the idea of a Copen race. All kei cars would have been better, but I guess they don't want to spend time balancing them.

I really enjoyed Gr.4 at Road Atlanta a few months ago, so great week for me.

I couldn't handle not playing all week so this evening, decided to give Bathurst a try...

I saw most times being set in the Ferrari, Aston, Jag and Atenza but didn't feel too comfy for one reason or another in either car. Then I tried the Silvia and it changed everything!

Yes it's slower in top speed and acceleration but it's handling and gearing, paired with the track layout, really suited my style of driving! I went from a previous PB of 2:14:4 in the Jag to a 2:13:0 within ten laps and was quite happy 🙂

Tried one race and started P10. It's was a bit argy-bargy but nothing too serious. Either way, was in a comfy P7 by lap 4 and was staying close to the pack in front.

Then on lap 4, my brain paused for a second, just enough for me to keep straight heading into a corner, slamming full speed into a wall and earning myself 4.5 seconds in penalties and total body and engine damage ⚰️

Finished last but wasn't mad and I set a 2:15;9 in the final lap, which was not too far the 2:14:7 set by someone on mediums early in the race.

Might have jumped on this train very late but as of tomorrow, will be giving Race C a proper go 🙂

Good luck all!

So the mainstream strat is qualy in the Silva full out balls to the wall and then use the Ferrari or Aston in the race as they only need minimum fuel saving and short shifting.

All depends on lobbies etc but race time is lower in the Aston or Ferrari. The early shift to 7th helps out of the elbow as well.

God speed and good luck for the weekend.

Was P3 at the ‘Ring and got taken out. Next race was in P2 and the guy who had been in P1 took out P1 and gave me engine damage. He didn’t even get a penalty!

This has to be the dirtiest daily race in months. And of course, the dive bomber is a B/C driver. Why is he in a lobby with S rated drivers?

Race C at the Red Bull ring is where I will be next week. Do we ever get 3 options for tyres in daily races? A shame its locked to 1 or 2 mostly. I wonder why.

The difference next week, if I’m interpreting the tweet correctly is that both seem to be mandatory (or does it mean only RS is mandatory)? Previously the harder tire and not the softer tire is the one you’re forced to use

If I had to guess, and guessing from what we read in a tweet is pretty iffy, I'd say you have to use both. I wonder if you could put one set on the front and the other on the rear... Probably not. 😛

You can, but the game doesn't count mixed tyres, so you'd have to make two stops to use both sets individually.

Two things.

One: I saw an interesting bug during Race A. I received a blue flag as soon as we entered the race. The blue flag lasted for almost half the race.

I was a ghost the entire time until the blue flag went away, which helped me stay in first place almost all the time, thanks to the free slipstream as a ghost. Some other drivers were also ghosts, so I assume they also received blue flags.

Throughout the race, I never saw the pole sitter, Loxley's car. He only appeared as a name on the left side. I crossed the finish line in first but was awarded second because, yes, you guessed it right, the invisible Loxley dude won. Very haunted! :scared:

----------

I learned that if you quit a race after finishing and before being returned to the lobby screen, the game will place you among the DNF drivers. This guy in 15th place was the pole sitter and won the race, but on racing mediums. As he continued to fall down the positions as more and more drivers finished, he quit. And the game placed him lower than all but one DNF driver. Good thing to remember.

I said two things but one more thing! I had my best ever climb in positions. From 15th to podium!! :dopey:

I was already loving this week's Race C, but a win earlier this week and this podium were icing on the cake. I always drive in automatic, but this race forced me to drive manual to save fuel. It is exhausting to drive this race, as the mountain section is terrifying to drive on. But every time I finish this race, it feels incredibly satisfying, no matter where I finish.

Amazing result mate, well done! As for mandatory tires, yes! Always make sure you use a set as you'll be severely punished!

As for DNF, it even awards you one if you're connecting to a lobby before the race and something goes wrong, like an error. Had that happen a few times which is annoying since DR is reduced for every DNF

Figured I'd see if I can nudge my DR up over the hump into A again because I like endurance races and the Nations Cup GT1 League appeals...

... pity then that I encountered an Austrian chap who was parking his dogturd NSX on every apex and crowding out to the exit (at Bathurst of all places), then brake-checked me on lap two on Mountain Straight.

While he had a 1.5s penalty for driving into the wall.

Over 14th.

Asshat.

Tried Bathurst on 2nd account to get used to race conditions a bit more in the Silvia. Optimized fuel consumption and finished with 0.1 fuel 😎 Started and finished P5 with a clean race and some missed opportunities because I chose not to force others into a mistake and let off the gas. Hoping for karma 🤣

Weird thing to poop-react to. Although we've had a lot of weird in this thread the past couple of days.

Comically I got punted in the very next race by a completely different Austrian in a Ferrari 458, as well as two other 458s who believe that getting your nose in while the car in front is already committing to the turn by not braking enough means it's your line and the pass is good.

Some very dirty racing for B/S lobbies; I made up six places without passing anyone who was actually on the circuit.

It wasn't pretty, but I'll take it. I had the lead until the end of lap 4, when I spent too much time examining my mirror and drove of the track (no crash, but it turns out that grass is a lot slower than asphalt - who knew?). But the guy who passed me did the last 2 laps almost 3 seconds faster than I did, so I'm thinking it was inevitable anyway.

Race B I is so disappointing, lack of penalties makes some races horrible 😩 I think I’ll stick to offline single player for some time 🫤😵‍💫🫠
I can vouch that Race B is, in fact, dishing out penalties. I got a total of 5.5 seconds on a race earlier. And some of that was for me hitting someone from behind and binning them. (I'm not proud of it, but it's true.) So I'm thinking that if you hit someone from more of the side, the game's more lenient. Can't say for sure, though.

True, but that driving into the inside on purpose is what it makes the frustrating. Accidents happen, drove into the back of one who did brake more than I expected as well 🥴🫤

I reacted with the poo to the guy who break checked you, it’s not an insult to you 👀🫠
Sorry, it’s just my mood about GT7 rn, people drive with elbow out and if you try to stay clean, it’s 50:50 getting a clean race or just being drove into the gravel and finish last. It gets necessary to be dirty somehow to survive. Sorry, bad mood here 🫤 maybe I try Nations Cup, I won’t be great but maybe it’s somehow satisfying 👍

With the new game coming out today, which Daily Races will you do first? What will they be? What would you like to see done with the dailies in GT7? I can’t wait to see how PP’s shake up the Gr system, and the tuning. Happy GT7 day everyone!! 🍻
Random question, are hybrid cars allowed in single player gt races?
