Tell me I am not going crazy. I got taken out later in this race by the Supra driver (I am in the Ferrari), who told me it was "Karma" in the chat after the race. Looking at the replay of the event he is referring to, I can't work out what he is upset about.
Am I in the wrong here?
Glad to know I'm not the only one.Been plenty of times I've been filled with Rage thinking that had occurred, till I check the replay and realise they were fairly alongside me.
Thanks! I assumed he was fixated on the car in front and had forgotten to check his radar. I do hope he checked the replay.Definitely not in the wrong.
Supra was likely focussed on car in front and didn't realise you were alongside on his inside. Turned in to make Apex, felt big bump and assumed he'd been divebombed. Of all the reverse tracks, Kyoto Yamagiwa is actually pretty nice. I think it's more enjoyable than going forward. Why must we go backwards? It takes me half the week to just relearn the track.
After the update jumped directly to race B and noticed something "has changed" with my usual braking points.OK, guys, I'm befuddled. Flabbergasted. Other words like that. I suck at Laguna now. I mean, I can't come within 1 1/2 seconds of my best time. I this because of the update? Or is it totally me?
What's your experience been since the update? What cars are you using?
Mine (T-LCMs) need to be recalibrated quite a lot as they loose the ability for the game to register 100% or the brake/abs light will flicker. After the update jumped directly to race B and noticed something "has changed" with my usual braking points.
Knowing that there was no BOP changes I checked the pedals settings (Logitech 923) and discovered that my settings were gone.
Had to recalibrate.
Dont know if its related with the update or just a coincidence but I recomend to check that.
Seriously, can we just have a permanent race at the Glen?I’m going to miss this race C. If you can survive the bus stop mess on lap 1 it’s a nice clean race, good length, bit of strategy. All I’m really asking for.
A couple of podiums this morning in the Mazda and I’m right on the verge of B with the 3rd account (to join the other 2). 12 races so far, 12 top 5s. That won’t last, low B is usually where I hit a wall. I did beat a bunch of them today though.
I much prefer the reverse layout here too. I think because the first couple of times I raced it on GT Sport was the same layout and the flow is pretty good compared to most of the backwards tracksOf all the reverse tracks, Kyoto Yamagiwa is actually pretty nice. I definitely don't feel the same about Trial Mountain.
That's awesome! I hope you knocked on wood after typing that! What is happening?
9 Race B's last night...and only 1 that was dirty. Nights like this will bring you back time and time again.
In one of the races I even had a completely rare combo. A post-race apology from one guy (he hit the sausage on the inside causing him to hit me on the outside), then a second guy get past me by knocking me offline, only for him to lift off 2 corners later and let me back through.
I should buy a lotto ticket today...
Not to mention how learning these things would bring new fans to motorsport. Sports are always more interesting when you learn the nuances.Yet again shining light on the developers' oversight in terms of a fleshed-out racing tutorial. We're knocking over cones in a car park and learning to come to a complete stop on a 100m straight when instead players could use their time in the game learning about:
- Dirty air and the effects it can have in different categories of vehicle.
- The effect (and existence!) of dirty tyres, how long they can last and what to do about them. Applies to tyre temperature as well.
- Taking alternative lines to perform clean overtakes.
- Shift points. It's well known within the community that certain cars need to rev out or some shift early, but how many people are oblivious?
Just myriad things that for whatever reason, PD feel like hiding from the casual player. Without community interaction it's quite possible swathes of players will never click with Sport Mode (and then there's those who don't care or notice these things and drive like idiots regardless).
If I'd have spent the amount of time I did on some of the Licence Tests on these hypothetical lessons, then it would have been impossible to leave them without having learnt something.
I was just sitting there gobsmacked. If every night was like that I'd never stop! That's awesome! I hope you knocked on wood after typing that!
You'll never go back to racing without it, it's awesomeAnyway, I did my first ever online race in VR today. I was really nervous and finished 13th but I plan to race a whole lot tomorrow to get over the butterflies and attack with confidence. I have grown a liking for the Mazda here. I qualified with it and I'll race with it.

I got it at launch and have done pretty much nothing but time trialing. I came close to racing a few times but I always wussed out. A few days ago, I tried to drive on a flat screen for the first time since I got the headset and I couldn't find the turn in point on turn one. It took me three tries. Hopefully never again. You'll never go back to racing without it, it's awesome
The Supra hit @Crimefighter in attempt to overtake him and pushed himself into the dirt. Crimefighter was already ahead even before the turn came. Not the best overtake to be honest, you pushed him wide into the dirt.
Supra's action on the straight says otherwise. He was steering to left but canceled after seeing Crimefigher there. The Supra was definitely aware the whole time.Supra was likely focussed on car in front and didn't realise you were alongside on his inside.

I wouldn't say Crimefigher was ahead at the corner, imo they are still along side each other and the overtake was not yet completed hence why they had to go through the turn 2 abreast. Like I said the contact wasn't intentional from either party but that corner is not the best spot to go around side by side and the supra has to eventually start turning in (otherwise they will miss the turn completely) and that's when the contact happened. The Supra hit @Crimefighter in attempt to overtake him and pushed himself into the dirt. They’re side by side and he has the inside line. It’s up to the Supra to avoid going through 2 wide. Absolutely no fault in that overtake.I wouldn't say Crimefigher was ahead at the corner, imo they are still along side each other and the overtake was not yet completed hence why they had to go through the turn 2 abreast. It helps that in the larger Miyabi-Yamagiwa layout, the circuits are opposed in direction. I.e: Yamagiwa forwards + Miyabi backwards*.I much prefer the reverse layout here too.
