After 31 races this week, I'm back to where I started (give or take a quarter of a percent).
I need to go back to the opticians as well. Either that or that fake Peugeot most people are driving has the most tiny brake lights going. I can barely see when their braking.
I know, right?! I just have to assume they'll brake where I think they will, because I can't see those lights to save my (or their) life.
This week's racing has been the dirtiest I've ever encountered (Race B) and I haven't raced since Thursday since it was confirmed to me any lobby is dirty.
There is certainly some dirty driving going on, but I think the vast majority of it is just plain-old mistakes. The tight turns aren't very forgiving, so it's easy to push someone off the track when you don't mean to. And barely tapping someone when we're already right on the edge of our limits, it only takes a little nudge to wreck someone. Trust me, I know, because I've done my fair share of it.
When you're coming into T1 at high speed, if you miss your brake marker by even a tenth of a second, it's toast city for everyone. When it comes to the bus stop, it's so easy for someone to brake earlier than you expect, causing all sorts of problems.
Add all that together, along with the need (or at least desire) to see what other people are doing - causing a momentary distraction that can result in an OH ****! moment.
You can see by my grid above that I've received plenty of denting, but it doesn't show the number of times I've probably done the same to someone else.
And to top it off, a couple of races ago I was P3, and P2 must have gone to the bathroom because after the countdown he didn't accelerate, and I rammed him harder than a [I decided to edit this out so I don't get in trouble]. Nothing could be done about that. I still managed to make up a lot of ground, until I did something really stupid that was unrecoverable.
My point is, I'm actually having fun, even with the ****-show.
