Ever have a miracle lap in qualifying and then get scared because you knkw you can't run that pace, in race? Yeah, just happened......

It honestly messes me up in race a bit cuse i get imposter syndrome and end up pushing to hard to match i pace i don't know how i did lol

Hope everyone's weekend is starting nicely ☕️
Its always brilliant to get a pole position, but then there are the problems of everyone behind you. I managed 2 poles in race b this week, and both where a total nightmare into first turn. Still its better to have been there than not at all :D

I see mention of testing things for next weeks B and C, is anyone posting these up I don't see them anywhere?

The Bathurst mention was for GT Sport if I'm not mistaken?

How may more times are they gonna bring Bathhurst in the mix, that is a rough track for me at times especially the downhill part. Can lead to accidents for drivers not paying attention to the road ahead of them.

Races according to Nismo VVG will be:
A - Tsukuba
B - Mount Panorama
C - Trial Mountain

Every race in DR B I’ve been in I’ve either made a slight mistake or been punted on either turn 1 or turn 2 end up mid pack and then get punted again to end up last.
I suspect you're approaching T1 in a way that leaves you open to people trying to go inside on you. You can't do that in the race. Learn how to hug the left (but miss the wall that sticks out). I'll put a video together and post it soon.
I tried the Mountain track tonight and it's gonna be a real war I think...the middle of the track with the small road on the hill is gonna be a trash-me-to-the-wall party...it's a pity cause it's a beautiful and technical track.
Depending on the DR level of the lobby, Mount Panorama has presented a lot of good racing. Yes, there are areas for squabbling, but that's no different than any other track. I'm really looking forward to it.
Before this week I was absolutely against using TC but this week has thought me that some cars just need it… Besides the top times often use TC (stability also) and are still considered top times. That GT40 is a handful and I’m a lot faster with it on TC 1
Believe it or not, I use TCS 2, ASM is on, and CA is "strong". My QT is currently 2,894 which isn't spectacular, but not bad for a high DR B. Could I be faster without them? No. I wouldn't finish a race without them. Could I wean myself off them? Apparently not, because I've tried. And even if I did, the best case would probably move me a low DR A, and being near the front a high DR B lobby is a lot more fun.
I'm quite excited for Trial Mountain as Race C next week. As far as I can recall it has yet to be featured as Race C, only a bunch of Race Bs.
Unfortunately it looks like it'll be race B.

According to my stats, it's only been featured in one B, although I swear it's been more than once:

No different than any other track in that respect, right? LOL.

Finally after a week of effort and a bunch of 2nd's and 3rd's I grabbed a win at Daytona. Wins in both B and C this week, really pleased with that, it's not normal!

Lost the CRB I can only assume as the pass on 1st was a bit scruffy but people will brake far too early for that last left hand out of the infield and it was either pass on his inside as he turned into me or get jumped by 3rd with the exact same move.

I have had a reasonable week on Race B. I have been a mid level DR B driver since GT Sport, never been close to DR A. But after quite a few podium finishes - looking at my driver page, I am now about one pixel away from DR A. The problem is that now instead of being matched with other DR B drivers and starting in the top 3 or 4, I am now paired with much better drivers and that means starting in the last 3 or 4.

I will keep pushing, it would be nice to get into DR A, even if just temporarily.

Exit the slow corners in 3rd gear, the 2nd right before the long straight and the chicane at the end. The biggest thing to gain some time is try double shifting from 3rd to 5th after those two corners. You should be shifting around 6400 rpm for this and 6k for 6th. If you're having trouble doing the double shift, try this little trick. When you shift to 4th, hold the upshift and hit downshift. You will get another quick upshift this way. It takes a little getting used to, but it will save you time if you're missing the second shift manually.

And btw, we still got spots open for DRWF. You can learn things like this racing with us. We like to help each other get faster. :D
I’m out of town next weekend but I’ll try to be there the next Friday

Way to go - congrats! But yes, that's the problem with advancing. Which is why, the few times I've managed to get to DR A, it didn't last long. But it's still fun to say that we did it!

Last week I got to DR A on Saturday and lost it on Sunday, which was OK with me since I preferred starting the new week in the B bracket. But here I am again, at 95.5%. I think I'll try to get to A, since I like Mt. Panorama for next week.

So, good luck to us both. We're gonna need it!

EDIT: Well, that's one decision I won't have to worry about. Just DNFed in a race. Basically: "Messy, got targeted, drove poorly, bad luck, the sun was in my eyes..." and any other excuses I can come up with.

Just had an awesome experience actually at Daytona. Terrible horrible race for me. I started last and spun first lap. I was all alone in back just trying to finish and keep my weak pace. Last lap I braked but early for turn one and a guy I passed who went off track punted me. I looped and mailed him into the wall but he kept on. I was super pissed. Made it to the finish line and he sat there waiting for me to get his place.

Good on you Timmy whatever your username was. Classy move, especially for last place.

Also..I do not like Daytona. 😂

More Daytona weirdness. I've gotten 6 fastest laps this week, when that almost never happens for me unless I'm pole, which I have decidedly NOT been. In this last race, I was P10 with nothing but A and A+ drivers ahead of me, yet I still got FL.

Some caveats are in order here, however.

1) I took out a bunch of guys on T3, lap 1. Totally my fault, although the guy that was divebombing should take some of the fault too. I thought I could cut him off and prevent his divebomb, but I didn't give him any time to slow down (not sure he could have anyway), he rear-ended me, and I plowed into a bunch of guys.

I ended up P6, with a 2 second penalty that, when served, put me back at P10. Unfortunately I ruined many of the leaders' races. Leading to a very sarcastic chat message "Well done!".

2) Because the leaders were then forced to battle it out with the rest of us low-lifes, they couldn't run away with the race. At the finish, there were 4 or 5 seconds separating me (P7) from first place.

Regardless, I still managed to get FL in a field that was heavily DR A/A+, so it counts for something.

With that said, I wish I could go back and do that race over again, because I would NOT try to thwart the divebomber this time.

FWIW, I still love this race. I was soooooooo wrong about this being a boring track.

Yep, I confirm, Daytona's been a good track this week...I had a great dose of fun and a ton of decent races, also with my terrible QT.
So tonight I bode farewell to Daytona with 3 races, nothing fancy, just middle of the pack start-finish...still in B after a week, seems almost impossible to me :P
Let's see Mount Panorama tomorrow

I really enjoyed Daytona this week. I did a absolute ton of racing and 99.9% of it was greatly enjoyed. I put like 2,300+km on the ford gt and honestly didn't do much qualifying. I had races all up and down the leaderboard and all of it was great, clean hard racing. next week is another track I really like so I'll probably do a lot of racing again, although probably not as much. tough to get away with that much game time two weeks in a row lol oh, and I was able to drag my DR from mid B to a mid A

here is a replay of one of my better races today. nothing super crazy happens but it was a good race from start to finish that really had my blood pumping by the end. tv view first with my perspective starting at just after 8 minute

To say I enjoyed Daytona this week would be a huge understatement. 40 races for me this week.

This is a good way to finish:

...and... drumroll please...

Back to A again. Hopefully it lasts longer than 3 races, like last week.

And since yesterday morning, aside from a few hiccups, it's been a pretty steady ascent - just look at all that green in the "Diff" column:

I'm happy. A far cry from how I felt at the start of the week.

Hope your week was a good one, and if not, I hope next week is killer! (in a good way)

I think I was in a lobby with you this morning (morning for me). You were faster.

I've also been having a blast with reasonable success there. The saturday lobbies got too rowdy for me and I dropped a few points before deciding I had enough. Sunday's lobbies have returned to some great racing for me as well. This late in the week, my starts have gone from about 5-6 to 7-10ish but if I survive lap 1 , I can usually make up places by running clean and picking off the strays.

assuming your psn is the same as your name her, then I do remember seeing you in a few races I believe. I remember because I couldn't figure out why the name seemed familiar.

Not sure if it's been clarified but Nenkai has said its Karts for Race A next week (yesssss!!!!) and Suzuka with the RA272 the week after.
Holy cow! This is huge (if true). The Honda RA272 at Monza, with SR turned on, was a riot. I typically only do Race C and strongly prefer having SR/DR turned on. But I am eagerly looking forward to do next two weeks of Race A regardless of DR/SR conditions.

I apologize to whoever have to see my atrocious choice of liveries and driver suits for next two weeks.

Looks like I will be missing out on some fun.

I won't be racing the next few weeks. I probably will not have any time next week and then Thursday I'm on on a two week UK vacation. Yay, it's warm and nice in the US and I go to old Blighty where it is cold and rainy :banghead: . I seem to recall that was one of the main reasons I left the UK some decades again!

Looking at Grumpy's results above, I think I should have stuck with race B through the week. In the end I did not do that many races. I had some good results (including two wins on my GB account) but I had a lot of variability as well with some at the bottom finishes as well. I generally felt competitive in it but in the end I couldn't handle the psychological factor of being crashed out by others. I need to get over that. Perhaps a three week break is what I need.

Yes ! 2 victories at Tsukuba :D

What do you prefer ? An easy win but filled with, honestly, my best consistency ever  or a win filled with battles :mischievous: ?

The choice is yours :sly:
