Corvette on Bathurst was high in the rankings this morning...don't know now cause at the start of the week the timing is really evolving but I'll give it a try cause I don't know her too much!

I hear you, it's wild...I mean, I love the track, I love the place, I love the technical aspect of driving there, but this morning the race was tough, I arrived almost at the end of the time allowed...I'm gonna try to get a better QT tonight with a few different cars and try again at racing

458 was wild going out of the corners, maybe she need an higher TCS but with 0/1 is a lion in the uphill part! wild but fun, maybe not useful to get anything good at QT or racing though :D
I'll try the RX Vision also tonight...gonna try the 911 - Corvette - McLaren and the RX Vision, let's see if I improve or I need to move to race C :grumpy:
If you want something a bit more stable, try the Aston Martin Vantage - good speed on the straights, and good traction on corner exits.

Perfect time for quali 👍🏻
Waste of time running quali laps when I could go elsewhere to do the thing I actually want to do, which is race. That's my whole point.
I don't find qualifying that fun, especially when most races have a longer gap between them than the actual race. Not a fan of waiting 15 minutes to race for 7 and then wait for another 10.

I didn't time my one and only race at Mt Panorama, but with 5 laps and Q times around 2 minutes, the gap between races has to be shorter than it's been for a while.

As for what to do during the time in between, that's what Zelda's for. Seriously, though, they don't run more races probably because they don't have the server power and/or bandwidth to support it, and nowadays, probably not enough players either (which contradicts my comment about the server power, but nobody says I have to be consistent).

But you know why you don't like Q laps? You're too darn good, and there's no competition!!!

EDIT: I can't be competitive in the actual race in the R.S.01. It's like I'm slowing people down, which they make very clear by tapping me from behind. Which is NOT COOL when you do it on the esses!! Time to try the 911, and possibly the RC F. I'd love to use the RX-Vision, but it's too squirrely for me. The Vantage V12 was a car I loved in the past, but they nerfed it a while back, and it's not up to snuff either.

I've always avoided Mount Panorama because of my difficulties in that middle/downhill sector, but I think I'll be able to figure it out with enough qualifying. When I do get through there decently it's quite satisfying. I've only been able to run about 6 laps and get a 2:08.1 or something so far, but I'm certain I can drop it into the 2:06 or lower range with repetition.

This week I shall definitely be perfecting my quali time for Race B and C before I hit the track. I'll try and squeeze every last tenth out, recent experience has me realising I peak a little earlier in the week than some of the others and raggedy driving often drags me into messy situations. Later in the week it calms down and I can have best racing at most combos.

There's a great mix of cars in race B this week. It's my favourite track, I'm on a staycation from work, so I've really enjoyed it this evening. It's always a pleasure when I get to put some time on a Monday, cos driving standards naturally get worse during as the week progresses and I have had some clean races.

I'm driving the Ford GT that alot of used last week. I recommend it, I cant find any speed in the Supra or anything else. Probably my slow arsed driving style though. Actually managed the grand slam of pole, clean race, P1 and fastest lap. Never happened before, wont happen again. Mid DR B lobbies.

Time to try the 911
The 911 made my evening...initially she doesn't seems eager to be fast on this track but in 5min of practice you'll appreciate her, she hardly makes you spin in the Esses!
But you already have a great QT!

Regarding my thoughts on the race....well, it's the most funny track I've ever played online in GT, of course you need to find a well behaved bunch of drivers but it still remains an unpredictable event qith 5 laps, I don't mind about my ranking that is almost turning back to C (another couple of bad races and I'm done with the B) but it's so funny, it's a real fight, I've seen lots of people behaving badly and then spin against the wall by themselves...
...it's a great race!

This morning I had different feelings about it, but after some practice I'm appreciating

Seeing this much ghosting, there was a lot last week as well, just makes me think they have given up with the penalty system entirely?
Tend to agree. Even contact with certain walls at Trial Mountain no longer incur Penalties.

TBH, I think they gave up on Sport Mode entirely some time ago. The video above just shows how full on Mario Kart it now is. Sad really, it used to be fun. Now it’s just too stress inducing.

You'll appreciate ghosting of if you - like me - experience quite the opposite. Drivers crashing with no chance for you to react. Got me a 3 and 4 second penalty and destroyed my SR rating :mischievous: best thing was when I unghosted some seconds after serving the long penalty someone crashed into me and didn't get anything. I mean no offense taken, how should he know when someone unghosts but it makes you question the penalty system even more.
Either improve the ghosting ("unghost in 3..2..1..") or get rid of it entirely as in ACC.

Hence why you should still be driving around people even if they are ghosted, especially after the penalty zone there's no reason to be driving through others, just inviting that to happen.

Also I don't know if it's just me but I consider it a bit rude :ouch:

Ghosting was broken on Daytona Race B last week, the amount of times drivers ahead would spin out and veer across the track on the first right hairpin but wouldn't ghost, leaving you no time to react and ending up with a damaged car and lost positions. Perhaps the closing speeds weren't enough for the ghosting to kick in.

The easy solution would be to turn all ghosting off (except for lapped cars so people can't wait to cause trouble).

So are there race parameters that are DR dependent? Is this documented?
I don't know. I was just saying that it was indeed a low level lobby. There were also a lot of people with the C Safery Rating on this race, which is unusual for me, as I usually match with A's like myself.

Where would it be documented?

It's been observable over time anyway, if you have raced around the levels. Low ranked lobbies have ghosting practically on every corner whereas high B lobbies don't at all unless it's a heavy braking zone like mulsanne corner. Don't know about A and above but I'm assuming none at all on the top lobbies with exceptions of spins perhaps.

I've only raced at E and D so far, and I've only played for two weeks, thus I've only experienced 6 Daily Races (9 now). Last week, on Daytona, ghosting was a rare sight — it would usually happen at turn 7 or turn 8 (I don't remember). This week, at Bathurst, ghosting is the norm. So I assume it's a combination of both driver rating, track and the velocity you arrive at a corner.

Bad morning for me, I set a new QT but in the B lobby is not enough to be in the race, with a mix of bad luck and maybe a couple of mistakes I had a 13th and 16th overall...I've got 10400 point while the B/C ceiling is at 10k so the next race will be a make or break :D
I already know that will be definitely a broken race :D
It's a race that needs a lot of focus in my opinion, just a little break and you're out of the fun, but it's also true that everything can happen in front, lots of yellow flag and penalties after the esses and in the chase part

Back in the saddle after not playing since May. Trial Mountain/Mount Panorama are both incredibly fun tracks. Game feels a wee bit different. Spun the Porsche and AMG out a lot yesterday at Bathurst. How's the racing at Trial Mountain?

I'm not all that interested in this week's offerings, but that's fine by me since I have other events I could do in GT7. For example, I feel like I've been getting closer and closer to finally getting first on the Maggiore 1hr.
