Maybe I will regret this post but did you already try a Time Trial? You're really fast and noone can harm you during hot lapping. Among my friends you will list above me for sure... Congrats and greetings!
You're right, I'll give time trial a shot and mix them with the daily races, it could also be a good way to improve.

ps. in time trial you're faster than me for sure, I don't have enough patience :D

Man, Mount Panorama is a vacuum for DR and SR! Gone from A/S to B/A in 5 races. I'm not very good there anyway, and still learning the wheel. I find the upper part a bit easier now but often getting involved in others' collisions, inevitably end up facing the wrong way then finishing bottom 3 or 4 places.

I did have a better race today though, started 7th and finished in 3rd and clean all the way.

I'm trying Trial Mountain to rebuild the SR - another track I'm poor at, but I'm finding it so much easier with the wheel and pedals 😀. Gone from a 2:05 to 2:01, with a low 2:00 possible. The braking and turning in is much easier compared to using the motion controller.

I can't 💩

I didn't know that was a option until @RacingGrandpa told me last night so I didn't save the replay 🤦‍♂️
Wait - you're that damn fast, and you didn't know you could share your ghost? Why does this sound like something from Rain Man? Or maybe you just spend too much time racing and editing videos to bother learning mundane things - that sounds more like it.

Mt. Panorama seems more suited to Gr.4 than Gr.3. At least from what I remember. Had a lot of good battles and clean racing the Gr.4s a few months back.
I agree. Gr.4s were easier to handle in the esses.
The only car I can keep on the track is the 911.
Try using Traction Control. On this track, it's not a bad word.
Quoting every single word of this, thinking about trying the go-kart in race A and give a shot at the time trial until next week....it's a pity because it would have been the most adrenalinic race of sport mode of the last months
I'm not giving up quite yet. I guess I'm a glutton for punishment, but I really do love the course.

One of the areas that causes me the most greif is T1. I'm just too slow when I come out of it, which means the guy(s) behind me catch up to me on the straight causing issues in the next few turns, which can cascade on down the track. It's especially frustrating because last week at Daytona, I was really good at the first turn. Oh well, hopefully I'll figure it out.

Haven't had much time this week so far. Have done some laps in a handful of cars at Bathurst and nothing feels good. I don't know what it is, as i usually get on pretty good there. I just seem to be spinning a lot or plain slow.

Hopefully i can figure something out later today. Also Haven't looked at the wind in any of my laps. Iguess that could help

I broke the ceiling and have a QT of 1:06:973…also saved my B rank with a 10th position this morning starting from 13 but next race will be like this, on a knife edge, it’s just question of time.
A lot of users behaving badly also this morning, only way is to let them go

I had to stop running Q laps at Mount Panorama to post this, to see if anyone else has had the same experience.

I just started trying the Ford GT that I used last week, and I'm improving my times with it. Sounds good, right? Except I don't understand why I'm improving my times.

My laps with the Ford are really sloppy - bad turns, side-swiping walls, etc., yet the times are better than they should be for such a sloppy lap.

I even got my best lap time, only to discover my oil was worn!

I watch the +- times during the lap, and they change wildly, which is expected with sloppy laps, but I'm recovering from being +.5 seconds off the pace to -.3 seconds more often than I would think. And I'm not just talking the short time span thing where the +- can be off for a moment. I'm talking about significant variations over time.

Is it just that the Ford GT is way faster, and I need to be more cautious? I can't imagine what kind of times I could turn in if I ran a clean lap.

Hopefully time will tell. Let me know if you have similar experiences with the Ford. By the way, I'm running TCS at 2.

I thought the only way was to get up really early on a Monday morning and get into the top 10 for 5 minutes before the fast guys woke up  🤦‍♂️

Mmhmhmhmhmh gonna try the Ford this evening, I'm curious, only thing I can tell about this morning session is that here in the European lobby the track is pretty damp, can't set a really good time due to this, at the start it was almost wet, don't know about US

That’s the only way if you want to have the fancy replay icon next to your name/time on the leaderboards. You can also just share any next lap replay and it can be used/found by anyone searching. It will also will live on forever there. Or until they shut down the current server’s 🍻

Wait, you got your best lap time with worn oil or did it happen afterwards?
I used my own RSR so much in the past that I had to do an engine overhaul and restore body rigidity. I think it's all wasted credits when PD now simply gives you the option to rent a car for both qualifying and racing.

Anyway have you checked the wind direction? Maybe that could explain the difference in lap times

Wait you're not one of the fast guys?

Your definition of fast and my definition do not merge ! :D

I tried some more QT laps at Brathurst last night and while I had a 8mph tail wind down the long straight I was over a second slower from my prior QT. I was tired and driving like an imbecile. I gave up and switched off the console as it was making me angry. Guess the tail wind does not help when the rest of you falls apart..

I'm all packed for my trip so perhaps I can lower my DR with some races Thursday morning before the plane, but I'm sure the rest of the house will be in panic so probably not! That may be a good thing if last night was any judge. :banghead:

Have garnered neither the courage OR desire to jump into a race yet, but thanks for the heads-up, all. Bathurst feels like it's gonna be one of those races where, if you start in top 3 - 5, you stand a chance at a decent race. Anything behind that and it'll be hit-or-miss. Guess I should polish up that quali' a bit. 😁

It feels like there is a sweet spot with the tailwind where you're getting a nice push without it compromising you on the other end of the track. I had a race last night with a strong wind going the opposite direction and was shocked by how bad it made the handling, I could barely keep out the wall in the fast left handers.

Well there goes any hope I had left for this week.. I was already not too happy with my times on both races but I hopped into my 2nd account thinking starting from the back could be fun since Trial Mountain is 10 laps long. Lol...

Set a half-decent time of 1:59:5 and started in P9. Was quite close for the first lap but I could see the mayhem and filth happening around me.

Then lap 2 it happened, I take avoiding action from a pile up in front of me, which means the gap I had from P10 disappeared.

As I'm navigating cars and trying to avoid more contact (slight hit P8 from his crash) the 2 behind me just push their way through and pit me as they don't care about fair racing as long as they make up a position 💩🤐 I'm now last with 8 laps to go...

Was tempted to quit but set about trying to be as consistent as possible and as others took each other out, I was now in P11 with the 2 in front close by on the final lap.

I was witness to absolute filth and managed to avoid their carnage and they gifted me P9 back so at least I didn't finish lower than I started.

I now set a better time on main account but doubt I will risk the frustration. The game lobbies are a shambles...

Managed to get a second-place finish at Mount Panorama! Quite a surprise.

I actually did that this week, because I couldn't sleep. I was in the top 300, with an absolute crap time. I didn't even bother taking a screenshot since the time was so atrocious.
Wait, you got your best lap time with worn oil or did it happen afterwards?
I got my best time, then went and looked at the oil, and it was worn. So either it just turned worn after the lap, or it was work during the lap.
I used my own RSR so much in the past that I had to do an engine overhaul and restore body rigidity. I think it's all wasted credits when PD now simply gives you the option to rent a car for both qualifying and racing.
I've had to do that with several cars. I like having my own, so I can use my own liveries.
Anyway have you checked the wind direction? Maybe that could explain the difference in lap times
I have not. I'll pay attention to that and see what difference it makes.

I'm not sure if you meant it as a joke, but "hit-or-miss" is the perfect description. And I think you're right about the starting positions also.

Crazy evening here.
Did a race early after dinner, bad users everywhere, finished 13th, back to C ranked.
Tried to improve my QT, recorded a 2:06:783 shaved 00:200, better than nothing.
Then tried the C lobby....I just wanted to have fun and be in the race again.
Did 3 races, 2 podiums e one 5thp....and finished the day back in B.

Love the track, but think I'm pretty much done with B races for this week, maybe one per night 'till sunday but not much more, too much bad behaviour everywhere for this kind of track.

A few race B in EU tonight, not much dirty driving because most people focus on the track more than the opponents. Of course there's always one or two..
Not this one though, he tried to overtake me 3 times.from T1 to McPhillamy Park, then as I had a small moment he pressed by at Skyline. That gave him 1 sec penalty and he quit at the pen zone, lap 1.

Then on the.next.lap. the two ahead where fighting, one went off at the chase and rejoined in my front quarter.
Looking at the replay I realised he probably never saw me.
Anyway I made.it past him on lap 4

Finished my night with 2 races in the US.
The first one I got a good run and made up 2 spots. Does my memory deceive me or do we have a Canadian here called @RoADkilL ? If so, thanks for the clean racing.

Next race I got a CRB! Inspite of me hitting the wall at Griffin's Bend on my own account and having my controller disconnect on me in the cutting
Anyway, it's a sea of Porsche's out there.
If you see a Vette or an M6.in V8 Supercars livery give me a wave

Had 3 or 4 wanders into Trial Mountain and it's been an absolute joke each time. I just can't do 10 laps of bumper cars and revenge punts, without even a pit to think about and maybe grab a couple of spots from.

I don't know if the track is just not made for racing or what. I've found Bathurst far more respectable, maybe because there tends to be one line available so you either have to wait or cause a crash for yourself as well.

Since next week is rumoured to be the RA272 you can hone your skills tomorrow, TPC runs the TPC Invitational again and inspite of the name you don't need an invite to partake.

Yesterday I needed a race against humans instead of the clock in TT and gave Race C a try. I didn't know and learned the hard way that there are only penalties left for leaving the track. I went till finish and gained even one place because 4 drivers quitted before... Might try the Toyota-cup at the weekend but daily races unfortunately aren't fun for me anymore. I prefer the AI in ACC instead.😕

After watching this clip back a couple of times, I'm pretty sure I didn't knock this other car into the wall.
I watched the replay frame by frame, and he definitely turned into my car. At the point of contact, I was a couple inches from the wall, and still turning left.

Having said that, I can see that he was in a really difficult position. I think if I did the same move to 10 different drivers, maybe one time both of us would get through those two left turns cleanly. It would require the outside car to lift off their throttle and concede.

Even though I don't think I did anything wrong, it created a bad situation, where I ended up behind that car anyways, and with damage to my own car. It can be hard to resist going for an overtake when you've got an advantage of momentum.
Just because you can, doesn't mean you should.

*By the way, don't use the '18 Ford GT. Aside from having a cool sound, it has no good qualities.

He had lost the space, and turned in on you. Perhaps he didn't see you, or was still hot from whatever had just happened and was committed to turn in regardless, middle finger up, but it's the same thing. You're on the racing line for the turn, not your fault at all.

Tried having a few kart races this evening and had to stop because I was getting quite agitated. Snapped in one race and start getting arsey towards everyone, I got sick of people knocking me about and trying to be a sportsman and not retaliate. So I got proper bumpy.

Then in the next race I tried going back to normal, and was going better even though people were still being irritating, until I went too hot into one corner and straight up took someone off, unintentionally on that occasion. That was the signal to stop.
