I think you're the only user in this week having respect for other drivers, nobody cares, but it's true that is possible to just do a mistake in that section, in my case I'd just need a "sorry" on the lobby chat after the race to be ok, it happens, it could happen, it's allright, we're not in the real world, when I do wrong I always write in the chat afterwards if it's impossible to wait in the race to gift back the position...in Mount Panorama people don't know, don't have the expertise or the patience, to overtake fairly and just crash to go ahead where the track is narrow

I tried that on Grand Highway, pulled to the right in the tunnel and slowed down to let him pass, as I accidentally pushed him out of the way in the chicane. Instead of passing he punted me into the pit....

99% of the time people get angry...some days ago I lightly touched a guy in front of me after the second turn while overtaking, no damage at his race, he then sent me to the wall at the next corner.
I admit I've never did anything like that, 2 reasons:

• don't wanna get penalties and risk my S rank
• sometimes I don't know at the moment if he did it knowingly or not

If I'm in the mood I try to write something afterward in the chat tagging the user if he doesn't escape right after the end, but I know that it's another way to lose time

My favorite gt3 car in the game handling wise is the Aston but it is slow.

Did qualy in the 911 but I've found the RCZ to be the best in race due to it's stability

It's funny how peoples' experience of cars vary - I've been having great success with the Aston this week, including a few wins, and I usually find the RCZ super stable, but it spins out on me over the top of the mountain!

Just curious if you've tried the R.S.01? It's NOT slow off the blocks, and the rest sounds similar. I'd be curious to hear read your take.

I don't own it so hadn't bothered with it but a quick run out puts it around my RCZ times, very similar setup as you mentioned. It's my first few laps today so assuming I could get those times down further as well. Solid option, for sure.

Yeah, that was my conclusion too. You'll notice his engine sound cuts out. But my first thought, before I realized what had happened, was "Why didn't he keep going?!"

Did some race B yesterday after dinner but i wasn't really "on it" as i was about 4 beers deep. Nothing terrible happened but i dropped a couple spots in each race.

This morning however was excellent. I started top 3 and had great racing to mostly even, or spots gained finishes. I even made a new friend simply by racing how i normally would, with respect. We had great racing all morning and a decent amount of side by side and bumper to bumper action.

Nothing like the feeling of multiple hard clean races against the same people. It's why i love this game. Hope everyone is having a great weekend. Race hard.....

It would be interesting to see what people think of this as my first impression is you left way too much room here and the opponent wasn't overly aggressive.

Even without the contact it seems like he would have taken this chicane faster than you and came out in front.

I agree with this. You seem to brake a bit early (cautiously) and he probably didn't expect this and evaded to the right while still trying to make the turn. If he was really trying to be unfair he would have taken the inside. He could also have been tapped by the other guy.

Whenever this happens to me I save the replay and watch it from the other angle. Most of the time it's not malicious intent but a skill issue.

Still sucks.

Super frustrating, yes. But, and from what I was looking at, I don't think it was malicious. It looks like the other driver was counting on you carving into the first left tighter than you did and cranked the wheel a bit too far. If you don the rose-colored-glasses, they may have felt bad and were trying to help you out by keeping you in the draft to hold P2. Could've easily dove to the other side of the track or, even worse, given the draft to the driver beside you. 👍

Speaking of P3...am I the only one not simply freakin' AMAZED that the other driver didn't shove Techno' out of the draft and into the wall??? I mean, that's noteworthy territory there. Play the lottery, the winds of luck have obviously blown your way. 😁

EDIT: And, after watching again, sans the contact that would've been a helluva pass. Subjective as my favorite passing maneuvers are ALWAYS around the outside, especially when it means you pick-up the inside on the exit of a chicane.

Worth considering. Again, I don't think the contact is as malicious as you took it, and might be worth thinking about in future instances.

Though I totally get why you would have been aggrieved by what happened. And that's the benefit of going back and checking the replay as well, even if perhaps you still had to cool down a little before considering alternative opinions.

Interesting week this one. Not one I've raced much to be honest.

Thought the B race could be fun but it's not.

So I've done race C mostly this week. A few observations.

Most people's race times are so far from their qually times and this is a penalty to people who can be consistent but a few tenths off better positions.

People mostly think that overtaking on corners where they can push people wide in to walls is a thing at all levels. Contact is a reflection on both drivers not just lines.

Even in a 10 lap 20min race the first corner is the winning corner???


My last observation is that with the new physics these track and car combos aren't for me. And that is ok.

I will grind times and usually work hard through the week but I'm a little uninspired to be quite honest.

They just aren't fun races, although I'll give TM it's due it is usually split pack racing. Which is at least fun

Been having a go on Daily B, once you get to grips with GR3s gojng up the mountain it becomes quite rewarding:



This race was pretty hilarious as for the most part I was picking up on other people's errors.



Also another good race right up to the point where I binned it at the end of the last lap.

This is surprising for two reasons:
1. Consistent times!
2. Fuel goes down rather fast. I don't know how heavy the fuel is but my times get faster every lap, and I had been attributing it to the decreasing fuel weight. But knowing that you are a consistent driver, I guess fuel weight is not a contributing factor in lap times here.

I find this week's Race A unique when it comes to two things:
1. This is the only event, at least for me, where in-race lap times are faster than qualifying times. No idea how! My race lap times are faster even without slipstream. Is slipstream a factor in go karts, though?
2. This is the only event where I have to use ASM assist. I can't use ASM because it makes me understeer badly and overshoot corner exits but this go kart is the most oversteer-y car I've ever driven. The last corner at Tsukuba is a high speed sweeping corner where I would expect a car to understeer but the go kart oversteers there! After losing rear grip there pretty much every lap, I have to use ASM to keep the kart stable. Surprisingly, the ASM has no negative effect on other corners for me.

I don't count my victory on Monday as my best performance as I was 3 sec slower and I had almost no battles as others were still getting used to the track + kart combo. Finished this race in 8:00.880 minutes, my fastest ever, despite losing some time in battles. Feeling great about it.

Had some fun this afternoon in what was definitely one of the most challenging and hard races I've ever had since the game came out! Started 12th at Trial Mountain in a lobby of drivers who I have raced with a few times and know they are fast and ruthless. No inch of space will be given but they somehow manage to keep it clean!
During the race, I took some long-term decisions (i.e. don't defend in corners where I know I will be sent off) and let cars through a few times, knowing that the opportunities will come if I just concentrate and make sure I get to the finish line! I had a few close calls but kept the mistakes to a minimum and minor in consequence and the results was finishing 5 places ahead of where I started and not too far from P1, considering I only had 3 laps with clean air around me, I was happy 😀

Uploaded this over 2 hours ago but YT seem to want to extend the time it takes for the video to render in 2k so hoping it will be in good quality soon enough...

I know everyone has had races like the one I just had, in which I sucked big time, but it still sucks. I hit the wall many, many times, due to me just being an idiot.

But the best giggle I got was the fact I got a "Clean" Race Bonus.

even if perhaps you still had to cool down a little before considering alternative opinions.

That's always the case for me. And it's amazing how many times the incident either was obviously not intentional, or I was the one to actually cause the contact.

Holy consistency.

I remember doing something like this once, many months ago, but only over 4 or 5 laps. You did was awesome!

I assume those are good times, since I haven't done the race - it would be less awesome if those times sucked.

Lol I am so naïve! I put some time to try and improve my time even more and managed to shave off another 0.2s and set a 1:58:4 at Trial Mountain.



I've done about 8 races (12 if you count 2nd account as well) so far and when I wasn't spun round (only 3 races) I did well and got 2 podiums and a decent finish (P7) after starting in P12.

The rest, well.... It always ended up being similar to the below, which happened a few minutes ago after my new time got me a P7 start. Didn't last long... And no penalties for the ones who do it (obviously) !! All the while I am doing my best to give space to others and not make contact...

Fuel goes down fast yeah but I don’t think it makes the times jump down that much. In that example I could’ve pushed a bit more for some 57’s if I really wanted to but after the fourth lap I laughed and thought, hey let’s just try and set super close times all the way to the finish.

What’s your qualifying time? It could also be a wind thing. And slipstream definitely helps here. I don’t know enough about karts to comment with certainty on that but the slipstream effect seems quite exaggerated and absurd.

As far assists go, personally with the karts being somewhat tricky and particular in their handling sometimes, I first changed ABS from default to weak and since yesterday turned it off. Combine that with CSA on strong. No ASM or TCS though I’ve seen many others using TCS (and setting pretty good lap times with it).

I remember doing something like this once, many months ago, but only over 4 or 5 laps. You did was awesome!

I assume those are good times, since I haven't done the race - it would be less awesome if those times sucked.

Based on my experience this week you’ll win about 99% of all daily A races with those times so I’d say they’re quite good. Cheers.

Threw away another chance of a win with a stupid mistake 😔. I had a 3 second lead on lap 8 at Trial Mountain but ran wide before the first tunnel and allowed P2 past for a win. Oh well, a bunch of 3rds to 5ths have kept me mid B/S this week.

Overall I'm loving using a wheel and generally being much more consistent with braking and turning in.

It'll be interesting to see how I get on with tracks I'm more familiar with..

Threw away another chance of a win with a stupid mistake 😔. I had a 3 second lead on lap 8 at Trial Mountain but ran wide before the first tunnel and allowed P2 past for a win. Oh well, a bunch of 3rds to 5ths have kept me mid B/S this week.

I've done that so many times, I can't even count. In fact, if I'm leading a race and don't screw up somewhere down the line, it's a miracle.

Overall I'm loving using a wheel and generally being much more consistent with braking and turning in.

It'll be interesting to see how I get on with tracks I'm more familiar with..

I'm not condoning people being overly aggressive, but with the way lobbies have stacked up for me this week, I can understand the passion over 8th place.

For a lot of this week, I've been near the bottom of lobbies with mostly A/A+ drivers. But the interesting thing is, if I have a decent race, I can usually gain DR points even with something like an 8th place finish.

Since I have no chance of starting near the top of these kinds of lobbies, 8th place can actually be my first place - or in golf terms, maybe a "birdie", with better finishes being like an "eagle".

So like I said, while I don't condone people being idiots (myself included), I can understand the passion.
