Got in an early monday morning run at RaceC.

Used the GenesisX since I am comfortable in that car and started P5 in an A lobby. I assumed it would be a no-stop RM run. Got punted to dead last (monday!) in the downhill esses at turn1, lap2. By the end of the race, I had worked my way back to P5 solely by keeping it straight and passing everyone spinning out in the big esses and the last corner. (really, that's the trick at interlagos, don't spin there. simple.) A few started on softs and pitted which also got me back into contention.

I had barely any right front tire on lap11 and Zero(!) on the last lap; luckily had about a six second gap to someone who had pitted. It was driveable, but I wasn't going to be defending on those tires. After the race, I slightly improved my Q in the GTR, but haven't tried a race with it yet.

I suspect this will be a no-stop as the week goes on. I think I am terrible on tires, so others will likely figure this out.

RaceB looks like I might actually have a chance in Gr4, we'll see. And I will definitely spend some time in RaceA this week, looks fun.

Absolute top-tier racing at Suzuka this lunchtime. Very quickly set a decent quali lap, which meant I had the jump on most A rated players this early in the week. I managed 3 straight wins, twice starting on pole, but none of the races were straightforward by any means. Turn 1 is an absolute monster in this car and it sought victim after victim, including myself.

Still in the Top 75 at time of writing, I'm leaving the game for my evening shift and hopefully time for a couple more when I get home.

Could've gone with softer tyres but I think that would have killed the challenge & the charm.

Looking forward to this week!

Did 3 B races in a row at Spa this evening and have to say that it was fun, I thought that I have a good QT but it only makes me start from 9/11 p in B lobby and you find yourself right in the middle of the fight, but if you feel how to approach the different sector it's possible to survive.
Note of the night, saw the worst possible user ever in GT, it lingered at slow speed on the start line at the end of the 2 or 3 lap waiting for someone to close to the wall, I barely managed to overtake but the guy after me got slammed to the wall...just because.
ps. S - SR lobby, got back to it after a clean first race.

Edit: forgot to write the results, first race Q 11 F 7 Second Q10 F10 Third Q9 F8

What’s your qualifying time? It could also be a wind thing. And slipstream definitely helps here.
Sorry for late reply. My qualifying time at the Tsukuba was 0:59.001 with optimal being in 0:58.6xx. I think I tried setting qualifying laps at enough different times to have all wind conditions. In the race, I was setting laps at 0:58.2xx to 0:59.xxx.
______________

So far, the Honda RA272 at Suzuka this week turned out to be not as chaotic as I expected. Despite the difficulty of driving the car, in the few races I did, I got great battles including going double-wide on corners. I'm thankful to everyone who were respectful and raced cleanly with me. :)

It rained the whole of my race, rain cloud and wipers always on, but not one drop on the road, totally dry. Is that normal for a race b?
I did two races tonight and my first one was clouds wipers but dry lol. Same as what you saw. Definitely weird.

Second race didn’t have wipes going but it was also much dirtier than the first race so maybe wipers could have been used to clear the poo storm 😂

Started p6 and finished p8 then p7 to p10 in the last one when i had to call it for the night. Too many times seeing people pushing each other off track and then revenge hits being returned and trying to avoid the crossfire. Always amazing to see in S lobbies.

Seems like all three events could be a lot of fun this week so I won’t stay stuck on B for long if it’s that way again tomorrow night.

I'm learning how to play on a wheel, but enjoying giving it a go. And then find PD puts the RH tires on the Honda for Daily A. Why oh why can't they give us the nicer SS tires? They handle just that little bit smoother without the random over and understeer while shifting gears.

Doesn't matter, I know what I'll be lapping anyway since I'm over Gr3 and 4

Daily race 1 with Honda RA272 ’65 was a very nice.
Started at 14th place and with a nice smooth race and finished 7th
I will try it again!!! Its so intersting race!!!!
And once again i tell GT7 has so many nice cars that we haven't races to run them!!!
Please PD WAKE UP!!!

Has anyone actually gotten rain on the track at the Spa race (Race B) so far?

I've gotten rain in quali (ffs can you not fix that PD, it's so stupid not having fixed weather quali in a videogame), but not in the race.

Great week for racing imo, but I really wish PD would try out more dynamic weather/rain/Gr.1/2/night races . They underutilise their own platform so badly.

Most races were like this for me too. But I just had one where it actually rained AND the track was fully wet. The “rain meter” was about 2/3 full. Amazing race but only half of the lobby noticed the rain before the race started.

Nice so it can rain properly wet, might get back on it. Had some dirty driving in race B and C yesterday. I was about to stay with A for the whole week.

I'm still having a blast on the RH tires, but yeah these cars are literally the only ones that drive better with less grippy tires for me.

The races have been surprisingly competitive so far, in spite of how difficult these cars are to drive. Definitely way closer than when we raced the F1500 here.

Idk about you guys, but I do not like the Spa race, the first lap is hell, I can't even turn well b/c of the rain which I have to pit at lap 2 everytime because I switch to wet tires in order to finish the rest of the race, so literally it is a requirement to make a pit stop for the wets.

Why don't you start on intermediates then?

Haven't tried them yet, I guess I could watch a Youtube video of someone doing the race as a guide. It's weird cause i'll see the other drivers choosing mostly hard when they pit on lap 2.

So I did this, and I was worried slightly when faced with this lobby screen...

I had my fears, they turned out to be unfounded. I had a couple of great races in this lobby, the high-ranking Finn and Frenchman starting without a quali time would eventually catch me and provide some serious quick racing.

The rest of the grid were nothing to baulk at, either. It served as a reminder that a lot of people live in Race A, even now it's unranked, and that creates an anomaly in the game in such that suddenly the rankings really don't mean that much and you can find a challenge from nearly anyone.

Wait so you can get rain?! I haven't been in one yet. Perhaps for the shorter races it should be a fixed rain arrangement.
