Sheesh it's quiet this morning. Where is everyone???
I was racing Bathurst from about 730-11 est. It was starting to get a bit rough for my liking so i went to the viper time trial to see if i could hit a gold time.

Now i need to do some adulting...

Had a generally enjoyable morning of races at Mt. Panorama. Mostly top 5's and a few where i was near the back but all in all i enjoyed it. @Saargasm i believe i saw you out there but never really had a chance to race directly with you. Hope your races were as enjoyable as mine were 🍻

Can't remember what's coming up?......

I was today years old when I started turning the ABS from default to weak on the controller. I've been stuck for days at 2:04.462 with the Porsche on Mount Panorama, and suddenly improved to 2:04.195. I'm finally heading to A+
For all the people getting wrecked here's a video to help avoid it

Very informative, very true. I've been repeating this for years, in my own words. Now I'll start telling all the "problematic" drivers to watch this video.

Getting used to driving on the wrong side (that would be the left) side of the road in the Cotswolds, UK.

Felt weird the first two days. Now I’m used to it again. Driving through forests on 60mph roads that are barely the width of two cars (or one American Ford Raptor 😁) makes me feel like I’m on a stage of the WRC rally!

GT7 has to take a break. Tried doing a TT using controller via remote play. I suck at controller, then got disconnected anyway.

As the race week comes to an end, people seem to leave sportsmanship at the door. I've done over 10 races today and was punted countless times. I was mid B DR (started the week in high-D) but I'm not at low C again.

Absolute thrills and chills in my final Bathurst session of the week!

Changed car, on a whim from Supra to Skyline GT500 '99 and that car FLIES! I'm sure in more capable hands it could definitely post a few podiums at least.

Changed the BB towards the front to combat braking understeer and encourage turn-in, very stable across the mountain (and in congested moments which we all know is very very handy at the Mountain), and it can reach 280kph by the end of the Conrod without slipstream.

I really wish I had begun the week practicing in the Nissan because my times were falling race on race but the Witching Hour was approaching and we all know what kind of creatures come out here on a Sunday! 😱

All in all, a very satisfying end to the week. Ended too soon, but posting a week-high of P6 (in these decent lobbies I seem to be living in now) leaves me feeling very happy.

Toodles

There are a lot of low SR dummies on the server tonight.

Ditto. By the way, edit your post quickly. You can't name-and-shame by country. (Or by name, either.)
Oops. Thanks for the heads-up.
Yeah, I got banned for 10 days in my early days because of that.

Sometimes I think certain nations deserve to be called out but but then I’ll come across drivers from said nation that show exemplary sportsmanship, so you can’t paint all nations with one brush.

Depends on the size of the brush and quality of the paint 😎

I ended last night with some brilliant racing at Trial Mountain using the Vantage - the only non Supra or 458! A few 4ths to 6ths among A racers and I was delighted with those.

Did a few laps of each track this morning and they all feel great with the wheel - all the corners and braking just come so much smoother and it's definitely easier to take a tighter line in chicanes. The last chicane at Spa on the controller was always a struggle but with the wheel it looks like I can take a better line.

No rain has affected my Spa race yet but did have wet qualifying.

Right, off to cut my grass, my dad's grass, post eBay stuff, walk the dogs, then get some racing in!

Yet again PD not using their heads for race C.

No point in offering RS if it’s not mandatory and the pit lane is a time loss of a million years. Up the deg to at least x8 to make some sort of strat viable, otherwise just make the whole thing RM only x1 tire wear like every other bloody combo.

I'm certain this is so people use the softer compound for qualifying and the other for the race. Why? Just... Because, suppose

The correct side my friend 😁 love some of the elevation on the Cotswolds roads.

Edit: Damn, my timing was slightly off. I blame the article scheduling process :D

Fixed it for you.
Enjoy. There are some great roads there. Being a Roman road the straightness of the Fosseway might bring some comfort to you also.

Tried a couple of race at Spa....I don't wanna repeat myself but it's the same mess as always :D
When you start 3rd and in just half lap you're 13th you've got the blame yourself but also the others, I've been rammed and crashed and pushed pretty much everywhere, penalties crazy as always you can be pushed out of the track and then if you accidentally touch an opponent if you're not lucky you can get a 2sec as happened to me in the first race, and being demoted to A rank in SR.
Hope it improves this evening, I start thinking that is better to stay in C-D when you may need less time spent searching for a good QT and have pretty funny races than linger in B spending an hour for a good QT and then you got stuck in a free for all

For my last race last night, I finally got in an all DR B lobby, instead of at the back end of an all DR A lobby, and this was a good end to a crazy week:

Started the week DR A but I knew it wouldn't last. In the end, I'm about where I should be:

I added a new feature to GranTracker that lets you create a table that formats well in this forum. It doesn't have colored backgrounds because the forum doesn't support it, but I still think it looks good:

I wanted to post this last night, but I discovered I'd forgotten to change the car for a bunch of the races, so I decided to add the ability to bulk-change the car for multiple races in GranTracker, and that took until this morning to finish. I'll probably be uploading a new version near the end of the week, unless my trip to Atlanta takes longer than expected.
tried a couple of race at Spa....I don't wanna repeat myself but it's the same mess as always :D
The first day or two is always like that, as people get used to the track. I'm not saying it won't still be bad later on, but personally, I'd withhold judgement for a couple of days.

All three races sound reasonable. The Honda will be good in VR, would prefer it as the race C car.
Can't have F1 cars outside of Race A. It's against PD's rules for some reason (idk if there's any actual rule against it, but it's the only thing that even sort of explains their stupid decision to keep them relegated to Race A).

I wish they would implement pre-race qualifying instead of the current “drive all week to get a good time” one. Also, if you don’t post a qt, you don’t race.

Hardly seems tough to implement, notwithstanding each daily would obviously take up additional time.

Just my 2c.
I heard early on that they had moved to pre-race qualifying (false) and was sooo happy to hear that. Obviously, disappointment reigned supreme. Being fast one day does not mean you will be the next. I suffer this on the regular. 😁

I think I figured-out my struggle with GT7, weight transfer. I noticed it most when I took the Bugatti out to Trial Mtn. May be me, but, I can feel physics dragging me around WAY more here than in 'Sport. Just solidifies that I need way more practice over here. A wheel to offset the tire wear might be nice, too.

That said, did run some races at Trial in the F-Type with some success. Mostly mid-pack stuff with P4 - 10 finishes + some DFL's and bad life choices. Retribution is best left in its original packaging. Nothing ends well once you crack the seal. Hoping to get some more time in on this weeks courses to figure it all out. Good times, regardless!

I've still this moment from Seaside to reflect on...little bit of contact between P2/3 going into CoD allowed me to go from 4th to 2nd through the Chicane-o-Despair:
Seaside_Sneak.jpg

Always hold-on to the good times!!!

If only I wasn't awful and apparently getting worse at Suzuka, oh well at least there's no DR at risk. Looks fun if I can get somewhere close to up to speed.

Would have taken race B and C swapped around but will see how I get on. Interlagos is usually a push fest.
