I think they should have did a gr3 race instead of gr4, i do get more variety of cars against me in those races, plus i can run my beetle among other fun cars

Best shot I've had at beating the WRXs is the Alfa 155, but it's not an easy feat.

Best lap with it for quali was a 2:05.3 - swapped to the WRX and did a 2:04.5 in about 3 laps trying.

One isn't renting a car, they are borrowing it. There should be a cost involved to rent a 450000 credit car.

It would be nice if there was an incentive (besides a livery) to owing/racing your own car. Higher payout??

I love the idea of being able to "test drive" a car before buying. But to be able to enter any race, pick any car, is kind of a kick in the balls to those who work hard to be able to obtain these cars.
I don’t think it’s a kick in the balls at all to rent cars and I own most of everything that’s come through the Legends dealer so far.

Daily races will be more accessible now, especially for those who don’t have time to grind for credits and keep up with the UCD/LCD rotations, which means increased participation. And we could also potentially have races for cars that would never be used otherwise, such as the expensive classic race cars like the 330 P4 and XJ13.

Yeah you're right. Increased participation is never a bad thing and racing 8 figure + cars would be fun....

That might actually get me back in Sport Mode.

I find it better if you have to buy and own the car you wanna race.
You can do that as well

I think it's a good thing though, for example this week people may have missed out on the CLK when it was in the dealership and who knows when it'll be back so at least they still get to race with it this way.

Also maybe they've got some high roller races planned at some point with this option now

Until they patch the PP, or go back to certain HP/weight limits, we are locked into same make races. Best case scenario is that the OP car will change with the race track… but then we’re back to issues GTS had.

I guess I just have no clue what the direction of the game is anymore. I’ve earned the money to get a couple more legend cars…. But if there’s ever a ranked race where it’s an option, I’ll be racing against someone in the exact same car and it’ll feel like a different one to me. Saving up for specific Gr2/3/4s has no real reason now…. And lord help me forget how many credits were wasted upgrading the ones I’ve bought.
The next GR3 races will be interesting. I think the physics patch will bring a lot more cars into the fold.

Tried a few alternative GR.4's around Maggiore.

Many felt okay but seemed off the pace.
Perhaps I could have spent a bit of extra time improving the times but didn't bother.
One car, the Silvia, was a nice drive and also seemed fairly quick for lap times.

The quickest car I tried was the GT-R.
Hit a 2:03.9 (with a few tenths left on the track) but if I'm honest, I'm not a fan of driving it.

I also see that renting a car is a good idea, but it shouldn't work the way it is.

I would consider a "rental fee" per week of 50 or even 100 thousand to be appropriate, plus rented vehicles would have to be recognizable as rental cars directly from the outside, i.e. not have an original design but a special "rental car paintwork".

So everyone can drive the "Meta" relatively cheaply if they want and then decide whether they want to continue renting the car or whether they want to buy the vehicle.

I would offer 4 different races per week.
1. for road vehicles
2. Gr4 vehicles
3. Gr3 vehicles
4. Gr2 and Gr1 alternating.. or maybe even mixed Gr1 AND Gr2 races where podium places are awarded according to class. The whole thing as a long-distance race of 30 minutes or longer would be really NICE in my opinion.

Far too much Gr 4's at the moment anyway, B would be more enjoyable in Gr 3 and they literally just release a brand new Gr 3 car model and then give us no daily to race it in, super logic there 🤔
Yeh, I would have preferred a Gr.3 race as well.
It would have been a better example to check out the physics changes

Gr.4's on Mediums are lacking that grunt.

Im posting the exact same post!

So just done one race at LeMans in the F1 and every other car was the CLK. After the Mulsanne straight I was last running in fuel map 4. By the Porsche curves on lap 1 I got to the point in thinking what is the point and thought about quitting.

After seeing what happened last week and what I’ve seen so far in that one race think I’m done with daily races. Until they sort out the meta cars I’m not going to bother. Also the fact people can now rent the meta I think it going to be like this now for a long time
The CLK is NOT the meta in Race C. It’s the quickest over a single lap, but in race I have won 2 in a row in the GTR. In the first there were 3 A+ rated drivers (including me). GTRs first and second, the A+ in the CLK finished 5th.

In the second race there were 4 A+ drivers, 3 in CLKs who finished 2nd, 3rd and 7th.

I predict the sheep will start to switch to the GTR tomorrow.

Here, too, there is an error in the game... I can drive my fastest lap with a "fighter jet" (built on speed) in order to start as far ahead as possible... and in the race I then use the "fighter bomber" (built on range ) to simply win the race with stamina and better consumption values. Can someone please imagine that for Formula 1 or similar races?!?
I personally don't think that's OK either. You should have to do your own qualifying for each car!!!

I think my biggest issue is fuel saving. I struggle to fuel save. Ive seen a few videos of people using the F1 and running in fuel map 2 for newly 85% of the lap yet I did it and was my projected fuel was only 3 laps. So not sure how they are managing to run mix 2 and still progress up the field.

I might just do some quali sims with the cars. Quite like that Lexus.

Yep. You should have to set a quali time in each car you use. Like you say if that CLK is the fastest over 1 lap I might as well quali in that and then use the car that is quick but uses less fuel per lap.

I hear that but personally think the rentals should be limited to a few cars not the entire catalogue. Two/three rental cars that get you into the race but not a choice of any car. Sounds fair?
nah I haven’t got any group 2 cars I like it just the way it is, and all the tyres as well, simply marvellous! great work PD!

Perhaps these drivers were using MT and "ShortShift"? That makes a big difference, especially on vehicles that have long gears.

For the Gr 4 race, I used the Ferrari (my best -and only- qualy time was set with it). Didn't know the Subaru WRX was THE car before the race, but started 8th and finished 7th. Maybe I'll try the Subaru today, but had lot of fun driving the Ferrari and the result wasn't that bad

Anyone been able to enter the GT7 official site? GT Sport working fine.
Second day I can't get access, can't upload decals for my liveries.
All I got is this empty screen when I select 'My page' or 'Showcase'

I race manual and do short shifting, but I’ve rewatched the video and there short shifting is different to mine. They are changing gears halfway through the revs at 4500 rpm while I’ll let it run out a bit more towards 7000-7500 rpm.
Ill have to do some practice

Something like that I was thinking... the F1 has a strong V12 in the rear and therefore probably enough torque to get by even at these speeds..... Similar to the Gr4 BMW M4... it also does a lot pressure below.

I haven’t spent a lot of time hotlapping, but the CLK isn’t THAT much faster over a single lap. My best in the CLK is a 3:36.1xx and the GTR is a 3:36.7xx

How is the fuel on the GTR?

In the GTR you can do the whole race on map 1 if you shift at halfway.

Depending on the ranking in which you are classified, this can be a difference of 1-2 places or 10-14 places. In the latter case, it would be a significant limitation.

I want to like race C but the field spread is just too much, most times end up running your own race! Still always good to have a endurance type event in the dallies

GR4's around Maggi and the little cup car around Laguna is where i'll play. Payouts really are poor though. I could do Schwarzwald in any of my German cars, Cr64,000 for 8 mins work compared to a meagre payout after a 25min race
