Switched to the Mazda at DTS, and picked up a half second in about 3 laps:

Now for the question: Could I have avoided this? I mean, having to brake suddenly during the CoD is asking for real trouble. Also, remember to lead your targets when you're trying to take someone out.

That’s a decent time you are sitting on there, that’s my target for the rest of the weekend

With @Nebuc72 & @newmedia_dev being a little out of reach as usual 🤣

Shall probably try and put a time in with the mazda3 at some stage but have already rage quit a few times due to understeering!

Not sure what I am more annoyed about, that I set my fastest time on my alt account and I can’t get the main account to match, or right as I did this, I accepted a ”friend” request from the person who ended up at the top. Damn. 🤦‍♂️ I should unfriend them 🤣.

This puts me in the top 900 for GB and top 1500 for US globally. Pleased with that. I’m also only about a second and a half off the world record.

I did do 4 races in America and one in Europe. But those I’ll talk about another time.

Only got three races in yesterday, but they were all pretty decent. I even managed to sneek onto the podium for the last one.

So far this morning has been really solid racing in the top 5 with one 2nd place finish even.

On Wednesday i had probably my closest finish ever. Came out of the pits on lap 4 behind him and one other guy i know. We ran together for a couple laps then dropped guy 3 due to track limits penalty. The royal purple car kept pulling away first half of the lap but i was stronger in the back half.....

Does anyone have their Race B sector times? Quite curious to find out where we gain/ lose time vs each other's times :) I think I am strongest in sector 2 (personally). Sector 1 is hit or miss, I can do a 36:5 on occasion but average at 36:7. For sure sector 3 is my weakest for obvious reasons... I lift a bit as I pass the marshals before the COD but rarely nail the exist without losing some speed, which carries over the loss of momentum until the last turn of the lap...

This is my best collective lap

Nice one! That's a really good time.
I'm quite impressed by the pace of the SLS, I didn't expect it to be able to get that low.
What brake setting do you use on the SLS? I still can’t get a hang of these settings since they were introduced in dailies. I’ve been gone to long and got rusty!

I don't have my replay saved but just going back through my stream sector 1 I gain the most on you and then it's roughly 2/10s in sector 2 and 3.

Just a guess in sector 1 if I carry enough speed in the uphill chicane I can exit in fourth, and on my banzai lap I full throttled the curb of doom.

In sector 2 I probably just coast a fraction better and get a smoother run up the hill.

Sector 3 again banzai lap is near (not quite) full throttle CoD exit speed circa 123/125 mph

This track is all about the tiniest of gains on to the straights and it's so hard I feel to balance corner entry and apex speeds with better cleaner drive on to the straight sections.

I just cut over .6 seconds off my previous best QT at DTS:

Come and get me, guys!

It's in the Mazda3, and I set BB to +2. That wasn't the difference maker - just thought I'd point it out. It helps with the first chicane, and the turn at the bottom of the hill leading to the second chicane. At least I think it helps.

The big difference was I had a great lap going, pretty-much matching my ghost, until I got to the CoD. My turn into the lead-up to the CoD was spot-on, and I didn't have to let up hardly at all. And when I turned towards the CoD, I could just feel that I had a perfect line, so I just kept my foot on the gas, and made it through without a problem at all. It'll probably never happen again, but the stars aligned for me.

It doesn't get much better than this.

you know how I know my lap time is a dog? I don't make your top 10 friends.

Anyone here every tried clenching their butt for almost 8 minutes flat?! 😂 I just did and let me tell you, it's not very comfortable!

I started P3 in a sea of Mazda's in Race B, whilst I sat there, already a bit nervous, in the Citroen GT.. Jesus that car is impossible to shake off in the hands of someone who knows how to drive! Late braking and top speed is kinda OP plus the long corners don't exactly give the meta a disadvantage either...

Anyways... I held position for 3 entire laps, keeping within 2 seconds of top 2 whilst having some very close defending from a very good and clean driver! Unfortunately, he met the COD on lap 3 and the guy behind caught up with me and breezed past on the main straight 😖

HOWEVER - I tried to stick as close to him as possible and wouldn't you know it, P1 and P2 in front collide at the COD and only one of them made it out. I had to swerve like crazy to avoid collecting the victim but thankfully, his demise meant I gained P3 back and finished on the podium 😎🥳

Never had a race this intense, close racing from start to finish and without incident. Was fun but also very tense, just ask my butthole 😂

This absolutely boils my pee quite frankly.

If you have ghosting and penalties in the game bloody well use them correctly PD.

I mean I don't even understand how the game logic would think I deliberately hit this car.

It's just a game but sometimes it's so weak.

Edit it's the first 45 seconds of the video and this is an A/A+ lobby so ghosting is knocked back a bit but I had no where to go :(

I’d be pissed with that mate, totally not your thought, which I am sure you know already

fault 🤣

Did some daily races today, mainly on Daytona.

I'm in "S" and despite several not too bad results with my beloved RSR, I'm struggling to improve my "C" DR rating (very few penalties or contacts with others cars). Usually, I finish in the 10th firsts (or in top 5 when I'm lucky).

Tomorrow, I'll give a try to the Ford GT LM, which is obviously faster on that track.

Go with the Ford or the Peugeot thing. But honestly just work on QT and get the track nailed.

Don't worry about anyone else, just your laps. Don't defend, take the secondary pace line if needed.

Let's get you out of C in to B, grind those top 10 finishes out bud.

Thanks for the feedback and the tips, really appreciated :)
Tomorrow, I'll work my QT with the Ford and let you know

So I get an awesome QT, and this is how PD "rewards" me:

P10, in a lobby of some of the most vicious, competitive, ruthless SOBs I've ever seen in the game. Ended up P16, with no CoD accidents. Just people pushing me around like I'm their own padded wall. @Bullwinkle, I apologize, because this is the exact sort of thing you talked about.

This is the one thing that I hate about GT7. Say what you will about penalties, etc., but why the fudgesicle should I get penalized when I turn in a good QT? I went from racing in mixed A/B lobbies where my average starting position was around P6-8, to an all A+/A lobby starting P10.

I was looking forward to having some good runs from the front of the pack the rest of the weekend, and instead, I'm making new plans for the weekend.

And yes, logically, I understand why this happened. I made too big an improvement on my QT. If I could give it back, well, I guess I wouldn't, but it still sucks.

I done almost newmediz_dev advices today , improved my qt , and stop at some moment to fight and focus on finishing in the top 8 to get few pts to improve DR .

Because this morning i managed to get back to D lobby ✌️ , took me only three race to get back to C with P2 , p3 ,p3.

When i feel too much pressure i pit in , and people obviously faster than me i just let them pass , as one out of two will try to put me out anyhow 😂

Qualifying time has nothing to do with what lobby you get put into. Had you the same laptime as before, you would be in the same lobby, but lower down the grid.

Only a 2 second penalty? I was getting 5 seconds for similar scenarios, and also when they’d spin off the wall and into my side. I’d get 3 for getting booted into a wall. Oh how I’d love to only get 2 seconds! And I now have a new favorite expression: boil my pee!

And you’re right: they have ghosting. Why isn’t it getting used? The CoD is at least the single best reason to have it. If they can’t sort out the penalties, the least they can do is ghost.

And why don’t they just deduct the time from your final time? I hate the penalty line idea. A 5 second penalty becomes a 10 second penalty by the time I get going again. So I’m getting penalized for getting penalized, which I shouldn’t have been in the first place! This is the garbage that got me to quit last year.

Yuuuup. I realize they’re all desperately clinging to their A ratings so they do crazy stuff. I’d rather be in an all A+ lobby with no hope to compete than get crashed out by these other marginal yahoos.

Just be smooth, do you and don't obstruct anyone. I know I know it feels painful but you'll get used to it. In the lower lobbies just out qualify them. And then it's your own race.

In the sharper end lobbies, you need to build race craft and thick skin as it's much much closer racing. It's mixed quality wise but when you get here you have a different view and perspective and the racing if I'm honest.

It sucks so bad.

I'm still bitter if I'm honest. I just went round a corner, I saw the smoke but....anyways....

Thanks for the info, exactly what I was looking for.
Damned, I'm not a big fan of Grand Valley but mostly because I don't practise it much (or not enough). And in reverse mode, it's even worst... :D
I'll try to gold the CE with the GT-R and see how it goes.
Just drive, don't restart if you mess up, just drive and pound the laps in. It will pay dividends ;) s
