What's the car for Race A? Miserable track IMO, will only bother if it's something wacky.

I saw someone answered but I didn’t understand what “the same clones meant”, and had a look.

They gave us a race with the EXACT SAME TWO JAPANESE CARS AS THE OTHER WEEK. Who is asking for this???? i know it can't really be an open race until the PP is sorted out, but there are other cars that work on comfort/sport tires.

Race B and C scoreboards are all WRX and all Beetle. will see if i can do a fastest lap in something else but most of these Gr3/4 cars are really crocked by the arbitrary weight/power scaledowns. Please lord let there be an update soon

Well i am also for more events and less of the same but last weeks cars in Race A where very drivable for Controller without assists and that counts because many newbies drive race a and they are relatively controlable in traffic and you cans still learn a lot.

i appreciate that response! i try to always assume they make choices based on participation data, but i had a hard time seeing the appeal of the 86/BRZ race after a few runs last week.

For my 2 cents I actually like the BRZ/86 race combo daily races tho I do find it 'frustrating' when everyone just races a stock paint job car and I'm the only one with a livery but that's just a minor gripe.

I might well check out the racing this week, it seems my SR has gone down after the chaos at Suzuka in the Gr2 Nations Cup race so I will need to try and get it back plus I am looking for something to steam this afternoon so Race A should providee some entertainment value.

With regared to the Bettle/WRX OP'ness how do you think they will rectirfy the situation, I haven't been paying attention to what's been happening in each update BOP wise but even I can tell those two cars are 'broken good' right now.

They wont.

It has been this way since day one. What theyve done with the first patches shows clearly that PD doesnt consider this an issue.
OK

I guess this is because of the PP Points the cars have been given and PD not wanting to have to do a file with the list of PP changes each update, one shall buy these two cars after finishing his Legendary shopping list this week on the basis they will always be good for Gr3 racing.

The Meta car thing I know is hard to fix but I wish the metas were just nicer cars to drive. The WRX is just horrible, feels the same understeery groan inducing slog as it did in Sport and the Beetle has to be driven in this horrible hacky way where you have to jam it into a low gear to lock the car up and get rotation. I haven’t driven Fuji before so it’s a good excuse to learn a new track which I’m looking forward to and Trial mountain is probably my favourite course in the game but the cars you need to drive to be competitive don’t excite me.
I’d like to sew them fix MR BoP so the 650s can compete and a bunch of my previously favoured FR cars like the FT1, RCZ and even the Supra can’t seem to get a look in now.

I agree about the META thing. It's kinda annoying. Gr3 has been kinda diverse when you think about it. Was RCZ, then at Spa it was the WRX (big reason was its fuel saving), then RBRing was WRX again, then onto the Beetle. At least other cars were competitive at RBR and Brazil.

Every track is going to have a car that suits it; hopefully the METAs change as the tracks do. Doesn't seem to be the case for Gr4 as it's always either the Mazda or WRX.

That was the case on Sport. The Gr4 BOP was never fixed with FWD's always dominating unless serious tyre wear was introduced.
Gr3 was quite well balanced, but even then the Supra always had the fastest times. But others could compete if you gave them a chance.

What are some of the gr3 cars that are 2nd or 3rd fastest, this week on kyoto, compared to the beetle? I just won't get any joy out of driving a beetle gr3 car.

Race C is just a 8 lap Beetle sprint cup this week? Tire wear x1, Fuel x1, do I see that right?
Only RH tires, or does it rain in this race? I guess not, no rain for that track :/

So it's a one make without any strategy, all same tires no stops :banghead:
Looking that way so far. Hopefully some people (way better than me) try some other cars rather than just using last week's META, which is probably standard operating procedure.

Seeing some people use the WRX (again), seen some Vettes, Mercs, Jags, as well.

I had a good week with the F-Type,i‘ll give this a shot again and see how it goes.i‘ve seen quite some Beetle Driver struggling last week, they‘ve choosen the car (most probably after checking the Q times leaderboard) but doesn‘t seem to know how to drive this thing…

I got 12 wins last week with the corvette…D&C races but still, a lot of people can have the beetle and get beat.
It does thin out as you get to higher lobbies because there’s a lot less time that can be left on the track due to car choice without it seriously affecting your your ability to compete. The best drivers can drive anything and do well but those of us that struggle just to get top half aren’t really in a position to throw away a half a second to a second a lap on principle of not picking the meta car.

To realize how dumb this meta car thing really is one must compare it with the games main goal:

Collect ans many cars as you can.

There isnt a lot of sense in spending a lot of money on various cars, whilst there are three cars that are dominating online racing.

I still havent wrapped my head around the fact, that the first patch added more music. No lobby bug fixing, no bop adjustment.. New music.

And then tweeting, that he would appreciate if the players could keep a scope for the long haul with GT7. Well, we've been here for a few months now and what has PD been up to? New music, Cappuccino, brz and gt86.

Thats rich.

The WRX makes me physically annoyed at how horrible it is to drive. Such a shame to soil a great track with that car. I’ve tried others; even the atenza couldn’t get within half a second. Think I’ll stick to lobbies this week. Although they seem to be getting more buggy; not less. Bit of a stagnant mediocrity to affairs at the moment.

They will probably adjust the BoP to get some cars in line with each other. It makes sense for them to wait though as they changed the physics quite substantially and changing BoP based on previos physics is not ideal. The new test series and the weeks past must have given them data to work with for adjusting the BoP. Also, one of the benefits of being in lower DR lobbies is that people are just driving whatever they want instead of the meta cars lol. I have not had a single grid with more than 5 of one car I think.

I find this too in B but it depends how long it goes on. If it's shown that other cars can compete, then yes people choose what they like, like Interlagos where there was usually 4/5 beetles and then a good mix but if it goes on all week then it becomes the Atenza cup like Monza did.

Agree with NikNak on this. One of my favorite thing to do in the Daily races was show up in a non META and compete/win. But, as I am getting bumped up, it's getting much much more difficult, unfortunately. You can't give up .250" on the straights for free and make it back up throughout the rest of the track as the drivers are just too good to give that back. Ask me how I know.

One of these things is not like the other haha. I got the win, barely, but I was in B back then... as you filter up, it just becomes less and less likely unfortunately.

I'm bringing this into Daily C this week. after a quick spray I could win on a tricycle. Bye bye, Beetles! :)

Really like Daily B this week at trial mountain. Only 2.5 sec away from top 10 global qualy list using just a controller and so far started 6th and finished 2nd only half a car from winning and started 10th and finished 4th with just 4 laps of practice total.

Race C I feel is made for wheel players, over 4 sec off top 10 and honestly squeezed every millisecond I could during qualy. Still looks fun though so might try my luck later
