Race C I feel is made for wheel players, over 4 sec off top 10 and honestly squeezed every millisecond I could during qualy. Still looks fun though so might try my luck later
Faster than me, first try I'm on a 2:27 with a wheel. but combining my best times I get 2:25 in the AMG GT3.
Puts me 10 secs off, need more practice..

People who clock in 2:25.xxx times on Nurburgring.. HOW?! I did one 2:27.130 and my race pace falls back to 2:28.xxx's! What is your secret?
I'm doing 2:23,6xx and can do a bit faster, still some minor mistakes. You can check best lap times on leader board. I always try to learn from the replay of top10 drivers where are the braking points on the track, for me this is most important.

On mine the top dude (Daily C) is at around 2:15 (Europe) and I'm managing just over 2:19 with the WRX though all top drivers using Beetle

Haven’t looked at any times for race b yet. I got a 1.59.8, where’s that going to start me in DR A? I could probably get another half a second and if I really put time in maybe get a 58 as I can’t get the left into the tunnel straight right and the last chicane. Need to see how to do it in the gr4s.

I'm DR B with sportsmanship at S. You get ranked up by either having pole position, fastest laps during race or finishing higher than race starting positions with no penalties.

Think you might want to give his message another once over, lol.

59.8 would put you in 9th in the last lobby I did. I had a 2:00.1 and was 12th.

Oops, I swear his question mentioned how to level up 🤣 at below 2in, if he's in my lobbies with my ranking he's getting pole 99% of the time. I get pole or 2nd with 2:0:3

Also, all of this is completely incorrect. You get DR points for finishing position in relation to the other players and their points. Where you start, positions gained, and how many penalties you have make no difference at all.

I did read this here as well thanks to @Sven Jurgens but does the starting position not count at all then?i.e. i start from p15 and make it to 10 and after the race i get this 5 points with the blue arrow up.What does this mean then?

Sorry if that‘s a dumb question but i did not play GTS, so i‘m still quite new to the party :embarrassed:

It means well done you passed 5 people (it says next to it Positions Gained) but it doesn't directly affect your DR.

You gain DR from the people who finish behind you, you lose DR to the people who finish above you, it's that simple.

Really enjoying race B this week after the s*** show that was interlagos last week.

A good variety of cars, love the track and a lot less idiots it seems.

Still can't grab myself a win though, came 2nd 3 times in a row though lol

Ok,that means my days in B are probably counted again or i need to wait for another week with a track i really like and know very well (i.e. i had great fun at deep forest or Daytona as well).i had a great week in interlagos overall and i did stick my nose into B deeper than ever before.I want to stay :)

And i need to wait till this Beetlemania is over.Tried one race in C today and they were almost driving circles arround me.It was not that obvious in interlagos. There was some stupid who gained at least 8s penalties in 2s pieces and he was in front of me.After half a lap he was alwas back in my neck again.Of course,i did not practice this track well yet but this guy did drive like he was drunk.I tried the beetle myself then and could immediately shape of almost 2s from my q time before. But as someone already mentioned,IF there has to be a meta car,PLEASE make it at least an exciting one :)

That said, there were 2-3 other cars in the top 10 as well but yeah…good driver then. The track is fun though.Maybe i should practice a little harder.

I stand corrected, thanks for clearing that up!

…or maybe i should go for race B again this week but 4 laps is a little less for my taste. And i hate that last corner before start/finish (otherwise great track) :D

Yeah that is a tough one. So much time can be gained or lost on that one corner!

I ran a few laps of qualifying in Race C, so far 2:19.1 is my best on controller in the Jag. That starts me in 6th-7th in the Beetle/WRX Cup at the moment in B/S.

There are a lot of people in the Beetle making a LOT of mistakes in race C.

I’ve done 3 with the Jag. It is very competitive. Even in top splits, car is counting for a lot less than consistency. It’s a tricky circuit and the Beetle seems prone to its traps.

DBR9 is a good alternative to the beetle :) It’s swings and roundabouts. The beetle is faster through the slow stuff and better low end acceleration, Aston is better through the fast sections and better top speed.
I've found this too. Holds up really well, got 4th in the top split lobby earlier with it.

Tried a different car in Race B for comparison (the Viper), and got a fat 16th, lol.

That's good to hear. Might have to give it a go as the Jag is not holding up in Race B. Managed a semi-decent qualifying time for a car handicapped by the current Un-BoP but get absolutely dropped every single time we hit the straight if I'm not basically touching teh bumper of the 4WD in front of me. Even with a better exit I start dropping back halfway down the front straight.

Trial Mountain still living up to the classic status with a few of the corners and curbs claiming people every race. The only one I didn't move up was when I had to pull over and stay behind a poor guy the penalty system shafted. He goes inside at the end of the back straight and I didn't see him, we touch and he got 4 seconds! Pulled over and stayed behind while he served it as that was completely my fault. It did work out next race as someone completely torpedoed me there and they got a well earned penalty this time.

Also, the start at Trial Mountain is as bad as any they've ever had. Including the old Nurb GP ones.

Where is your source for that?

That's for GT Sport but so far nothing has pointed to it being any different in GT7.

I went on today to get back into the swing of online racing, and it looked like I had some real shots at podiums/wins. Last race made me hella salty.

Really felt like without the contact or the battles after I would have won the race, since the polesitter binned it at some point. Would have been my first Sport Mode win.

As above, cheers Sven. Of course there's some complexity to it as you'll receive more DR for beating higher ranked drivers, and subsequently lose more DR for finishing behind lower ranked drivers, but for the purposes of simply understanding how it works it is correct that final position is all that matters for DR.
