The thing is what if someone was on Lap 23 of the race and the wi-fi connection went out, they'd be screwed and would have wasted their time, that is the main reason I'm not doing it either. Too much work and hassle. But my lap times aren't usually great at the Spa track anyways, and that would be too much work for only 20-30k credits.

Ok, I realised that I could just use the curcuit experience sector 3. Now it does not seem so mysterious anymore.
Thanks. Will
So here’s a strange one, been sat at BB/BA all weekend, got a shed load of wins today and sure I was low B at some stage and then somehow jumped to AA? Let’s just say I know I ain’t staying there but I’m going to use today to get ahead, just finished 4th in a mostly A lobby

Edit. What a salty lot them A drivers are 🤨
I had a similar experience. I only drove race B trial mountain last week (g70 bb+3 or plus 5, TCS mostly 0, except the first 2 corners TCS 1__quali 2.02.3xx) . I went down from. CS to DS, mostly because of being to polite, using indicator right, to show I give way, because of mistake or just too slow, go right, boom punted into the wall +penalty👏👍. Two days later, I think Wednesday, and really not too many races, about 10 races, I was a solid BS and I'm not talking bs😉.. But, I think I had to night races. Against A/C, b/c.. In one race, a A/S driver lost DR points, for coming in 5th!!!!position(red arrow down, red"A"). Sorry, but my opinion is, that this should not be possible. I know it's just math's, but still. If they don't want that the really good drivers drop out before start, in every race at night, that should change.

Besides the first day, a lot of great racing.. Really, 90%clean - super clean races.
.. By the way, not caring for DR much, I just like driving, I go from B-D and back to B all the time. It's the best days with gt since I'm 14. ❤️GT

The length itself is not the problem. The problem is that the length is meaningless without changing conditions, with only 1 tire option and no need for changing tires and refueling but with a mandatory pit stop. I do not have exact times available, but for slower drivers who mess up a pit intro or exit, i am not sure if a 1 minute penalty is even a penalty at all. If everyone has only 1 option for tires and no changing conditions you simply do not need almost an hour of racing to determine who is the fastest. With no options/need for strategy it is no endurance race, at least in my opinion. The lackluster payout is the cherry on top. In single player you have a very similar race with a lot of strategy and changing conditions that will earn you 1.5 mil credits in a more interesting race..

Yeah, exactly. Pay out 500K cr on race completion, say an extra 50K per position, and suddenly Race C becomes super compelling for a lot more people.

I’d rather trundle round, finish last and get 500K than spend a similar amount of time racing brain-dead AI for 1m.

Oh, I'm not and it's any 50-minute event other than Spa. And anyone with bad wi-fi connection shouldn't enter either because they would be wasting their time. That's all I can say about it. Well it's no point in complaining about it anymore, we have to deal with what PD provides for us weekly.

Loving sardegna! Not sure which car I’m going to settle with, not sure the lambo is up to the task this week, tried the supra and genesis and both handle well too,

Well 5 laps QT in and one race, 1.42.2xx is my starting time, until I see it gave 14th on the grid in AB 🤨

Turned that into 8th mainly because cars keeps spinning out on the corners 😂

Whoa... 24 laps over Spa as daily? That may be tough... With such a long track and only 16 cars on the grid it may get empty after few laps when people will spread over track... I could be wrong but smells like quite boring race. IMO 14 laps is max for such a combo, but even that there must be some fun-factor like random weather + strategy alternatives to keep people interested.

The grid size is definitely a concern.

As usual, people will be picking up free places from quitters looking to cut their losses and jump into another lobby of Race A & B.

I'll make sure I qualify well and hopefully I'll find good reason to get into Sport Mode this week after my previous 7-day hiatus.

Got a 1.40.057 at Sardegna

Trying to get into the 39s.

Of course none of this is of any use when a German guy keeps popping up in your lobby, starts in 2nd and keeps hitting you from behind.

4th race (after 3 of these races in a row where he knocked me down to 4th,and span me out twice for a 11th and a 13th) I went nuts and just took him out immediately after he hit me.

Totally worth the 5 second penalty. In my head I said "have that you.....". Still finished 7th even with the penalty 😂😂

Nice job, my goal is to get between a 1'40.500-1'42.000. That would get me a good time near the top of the grid. That is for C/D lobbies. I guess first I'll try the RSR, then the Genesis X Gr. 3 car. I don't think the Supra will be any good here so I may not use it. I see some top drivers got really fast times with it, but they have more years of experience than me. I've never even heard of Hal, that german guy.

They made an excelent endurance race at SPA for the human comedy missions.
Its an hour race with day-night-day transition and random weather.

They missed a big opportunity not replicating that race.

Sad to see TM go...some good racing on the mountain this week. Sucked that it was almost purely a one-make Lambo race, but it's a bit hilarious seeing the WRX in a sea of much, much closer to the ground Huracans. it looks like someone was on their way to the convenience store, took a wrong turn onto a racetrack and said "****-it, I'm already here, let's race!". At least landed ONE of my two goals, was able to post a victory in the WRX. Getting it into the 59's is gonna have to wait until next round, though.😁

Hoping Sardegna is as much fun as I remember it being. And that Spa race is gonna have to happen, even if only once. I've not yet run a race of that length with humans so will be a good chance to (maybe) learn something? Even if the lesson is not to enter the race again it's still technically learning, right?🤣

for the ones concerned about a boring daily C, I tried it early this morning and it was an absolute joy (lower DR A)! Lots of side by side racing, lots of overtaking, the field stayed together besides P1, custom slip stream helps here. I loved it! Changing weather, different tyres and time conditions would have made it much better of course...

Obviously for beginners it is a useless race, too many would quit and gaps might become huge.

24-lap Spa:
If you are not an alien, I recommend changing tires. I was able to keep up with the pack in first 12 laps but I opted not to change tires and I fell back and drove home alone in the latter 12 laps.

Not having weather is disappointing but I can understand PD's decision. My race started with 15 peeps and finished with 15 peeps!

It was nice to return to GT7 after a gap. I had been away playing EA Sports WRC. The return of 1-hr race meant that I had to return to GT7. I don't expect to play a lot this week though, due to lack of weather. But I definitely expect to enjoy every time I play. the 24-lap race is packed with close racing in low-A lobby as long as your tires are in good condition.

You won’t get me anywhere near a 24 lap race 🤣 look forward to hearing about it though

I tried Spa now but no matter how much i love this track i won't try it again. I'm only DR D, which means quite a huge skill gap on the grid. This resulted in a boring race with reasonable gaps between the drivers, so it felt more like a time trial then a race. With a closer competition it might be interesting, but not in DR D, as it seems.

Oh, right... I almost forgot that they have brilliant time of day transition system in that game that is barely used. 😉 I would love to have something like wet night to sunny morning online race at Le Mans, that's my little dreams 😁 Hmm... Maybe it's time to create some lobby?

Probably going to spend my time in B this week as I feel that's where I can be the most competitive with early optimals deep in to 1:40 while figuring the sectors out again and using some different cars.

The thing with C to my mind is 2 fold, it's again basically a one make race in the quicker DR lobbies

And secondly if I'm going to race for 2/3 hours being able to do 5/6 with short breaks works better than 1hr stints and managing only 1/2 in that time.

The GTWS I practice for, and know it's at best a 3 shot deal so can usually carve out time but as a daily and even seeing the A+ lobbies have extended lonely racing it just doesn't tick my box but fair play to the peeps who've wanted this sort of thing and getting it for once 🍻

Last week was the first weeks in months where I could just race race race and somehow crash landed in DR A! I feel the same for this week, sardegna is such a racers race, I’m pumped for it 🤣

Had a real hit and miss day at B. But genuinely I love this combo, and how overtaking is possible but not easy. It's nice that you really have to think about the line you take and how an overtake might mean you just get taken again at the next corner etc..

Had a run of races where I met idiots, but either side of that I've picked up 4 wins which I'm delighted with, although it should really have been more like 6.

Defo made the most of my decent Qualy lap this morning until all the good players start setting lap times 😂😂😂

That's the only thing about Sardinia is that it's an extremely difficult place to pass.

Sure the compliant AI on the grind race but with real humans once the early spinners are out of the way or left behind there just isn't a lot of clear passing places as it's so flowing and the hairpins so so so slow

Edit: cross posted with Naz

All reality having done a few races I think I'll mostly be practicing for the GTWS and chilling with the family. It's just not a combo that I feel encourages racing at the moment. Hence the credit multiplier. But I'm tired, grumpy and not feeling great so ask me in the morning 🤣

Well, I didn't expect Race B to have the credit multiplier, so I think I'll be off to Sardegna Road Track A this week instead of Spa-Francorchamps like I had anticipated.

That's the only thing about Sardinia is that it's an extremely difficult place to pass.

Yes, but I'd imagine there'll be some races were one or two people end up losing control somehow and end up netting me some free positions.

I've done a few qualifying laps on B and C - may get a race in from Wednesday. I do enjoy Sardegna, so will likely race more there. Love Gr2 and Spa, but will need to find a second somewhere before I can be competitive - not too keen on driving around at the back for nearly an hour..

Off topic sorry, but I see it's not just cars that brush the Bathurst walls.

I just did two C races at Spa, back to back. The way it’s set up, there was only about 3:00 minutes break between races so, basically 2 hours of racing. The other problem is that you can only jump in to a race at the top of the hour.

The ‘16 NSX on the RM tires is really stable, I keep braking less and less every lap and it’s still tracking nicely. I took tires on lap 14 but didn’t really need to although lap times were slowing slightly.

Attrition on both races was 5 of the 16 DNF and 2 others 1 lap down.

Just looking at my replay, there’s still a lot of room for improvement.
