GT7 May Update Discussion

Why people ask for a bike track to be added to GT7 I wonder why is is not going to happen....

Looks like it handles cars just fine. Besides, look at how many circuits between Gran Turismo 2 AND Gran Turismo 7 that also host/have hosted bikes:

Laguna Seca
Sonoma Raceway
Suzuka Circuit
Twin Ring Motegi
Daytona
Monza
Nurburgring
Spa-Francorchamps
Silverstone
Brands Hatch
Bathurst (Yes, this was a thing that actually happened)
Circuit De Catalunya (Literally, the Moto
GP layout is in both GTS and GT7 as the "Grand Prix" Layout)
Autopolis
Watkins Glen
Road Atlanta

Looking at the top suggestions, sorted by likes

  • BMW M1
  • E36 M3
  • Escort Cosworth
  • E39 M5
I’d think the E36 or Escort have a good shot as “surprise” cars not seen in the datamine. We’ve had variants of both cars in previous GTs(the E36 as the Compact and Escort in rally car guise).

Couple the suggestions with the left in datamine/steering parameters, the Lancia Rally 037 seems like it could be added anytime.

As for bike circuits, even though Valencia is in TT, it is also in GTPSP.

Anyway, once again looking at past GT7 updates, maybe most likely brands this month:

PD appear to do back-to-back brands in a few of these updates. We just had Mercedes-AMG.

  • 500E
  • Mazda Roadster NB or RF
  • multiple Nissans in back-to-back updates, Skyline GTS-R or R35 '07
  • BMW time
  • I'd still be surprised if we got a car from the UK, but an Italian car seems more likely. Wouldn't be surprised to see another Porsche though.

The 458 GT3 is so old the model that replaced it has gotten an EVO kit and already been retired. GT3 cars are on average about 2 seconds a lap faster around Spa than the last time a 458 GT3 raced.
You can still see 458 GT3 in some events but yes it is old but the 488 GT3 still will be used , because not everybody got money to buy a whole new platform just because its new aka 296 GT3
Sugo would be great fun to drive on if my experience in the '08 NSX GT500 is anything to go by. Could we get it this month? We're due for a new Japanese circuit.
Yes give me all those tracks now :D

For this month particularly, I'm interestingly noticing some positive vibes and hopes for the Toyota GT-One here and there. This is just an example:

I sincerely hope you're all right about it. The last classic/nostalgic race car from the past games we got was the Celica WRC in December 2022.

Man some Lotus cars are in that datamined list, if i remember

Evora GT3/GT4
The Evora '09 was listed as Eagle Type 122. Eagle was pre-release name used by the press, and Type 122 by Lotus themselves. Should Lotus return I would like to see the 1990 Carlton as well. Especially as it has never been a premium.

I doubt we'll get any historic tracks that don't actually exist as of now. PD like to make things realistic and the state of Monza's oval is not good (although I have heard there were plans to redevelop it, and equally plans to demolish it)

Evora GT3/GT4
There's no proof that PD's got the Lotus licence back yet, or that those cars are even for GT7 and not just leftovers from older games.
Datamined list is cool and all, but way too many people take it for granted.

But that’s very sad, would be cool to have something like brooklands or at least some vintage versions of existing tracks in GT7, like having the old billboards etc. on that track like in the 60s for example with hay barriers and all these details.

It is - but I don't think that's PD’s modus operandi. My own speculation of course...

GP legends could make a comeback

I think that is a great pity. I think there are only a few circuits for which historical layouts are interesting. For me Le Mans would be a prime example, especially the old layout past Maison Blanche.

We might get a silhouette tweet this weekend if Kaz doesn’t almost forget it again. If we get a May update that is…
