GT7 Tuning Calculator - Download v3.3 all new cars added!!

I bought the lite version the other day. It makes the game more interesting and fun to use. Will new cars be added to the roster? I tried looking for the 2004 Subaru STI and I could not find it.

Hey man,

Thanks for the support, new cars will be added in due course. Unfortunately I have to wait for the Lever Ratio data to be be mined from the game data to be able to add new cars after they are released. Hopefully should be soon.

Just bought your lite version. Really excited to dig into it. Is there a way to open this as an xls or similar file instead of an xlsb? I do not have excel but I can usually get most xls tagged files to open in either Apple's Numbers or Google Sheets. Looking forward to the app! Thank you.

Thanks for the support, it’s tagged as an xlsb binary workbook to protect the contents.

Easiest way to open the lite version is through your browser, upload it to OneDrive and use excel online, perfect for tablets and phones…

Hello guys,

Took a break from GT7 and now back, didn’t receive any new version since a long time in my mail. My current version is 2.1 expert and 2.09a lite. Is there anything new ?

Hello Galiz, welcome back!

looks like you are still on the most recent versions. Nothing new yet until the data from the new cars is picked up.

App is progressing well although taking longer than expected…

What’s the eta on when you can add new cars to the tuning lists?

The lever ratio data is mined from the game which is out of my control at the moment. I would hope to see an updated list once the 7th Aug new cars have been added.

Update on where things are at the moment;

App - Things are taking a bit more time to develop than initially expected, certain limitations in coding and bugs that have to be worked around in order to make this like the excel sheet have added an extra portion of time to the project. My developer is committed to ironing this out as soon as possible though!

Addition of new cars - There is a lack of response in regards to the release of the new car lever ratio data. I am working to resolve this. I will keep you updated.

July 3rd Edit: The downloadable app version is coming soon! Been 4 months since this first started as a spring calc, now we have a fully fledged app coming!!!

Back in March;
I have developed a tuning calculator for gt7, spring rate, dampers, gear ratios, dyno plotting and LSD setup are all automatically calculated. If you would like to download a copy please see bottom of this post Or in my signature.
Any questions are welcome. Please note all updates to this calculator are part of your initial purchase. Remember to sign up with your email to receive the latest updates when they are released. If we get enough supporters this will eventually migrate to an iOS and android app.

And for anyone interested in the equations: it takes into account suspension travel, force applied under load, lever ratio and without giving away too much the following formula is applied; K = Spring Rate in N/m.
1/2piSqrt(K/M)
It works on a table of every car in GT7 so that when a car is selected, the drivetrain type automatically is picked up for the un sprung weight calculation.

Give the free trial a go on the website, it’s obviously only part of the full downloadable premium version but it gives you a feel for it.

I noticed that Intermediate, Wet and Dirt tires are not included in the calculator. Is this deliberate because we should select another tire type that performs similarly to those? If so, which tires perform like the three that are missing?

I havnt included the W, IM & Dirt tyres at the moment.

if you want to run a wet race I would suggest using a lesser tyre by 1 or 2 compounds.

Dirt tyres, are a completely different setup, not my strongest knowledge…

New excel version incoming,

New cars added.
Gear ratios slightly tweaked to RPM.
Tyre sizes fine-tuned for more accurate top speed.
20% increase in damping figures.

I use the lite version & it’s been nothing short of a game changer. Been thinking about getting the elite version but would like to know what the differences are that give me more of a competitive advantage. Always trying to squeeze out an extra second.

Ok so the expert version has the flowing advantages over the lite version;

1. Mapping the torque curve, you Can upload the dyno chart from PS5 to the calculator and fairly accurately map the torque curve. This then enables the gearing to be more fine tuned to the engine.
2. You have the added benefit of the Tractive force graph for reference of when to shift gear.
3. You can Select a minimum corner speed so that 1st gear has optimum torque at the corner exit.

I myself like to use both. Lite version for a quick setup if I’m online or the expert version if I’m setting up a car for a time trial or a planned race…

Thanks for the update. A bit of an issue with the new damping values:

The in game adjustment range for 99% of the cars are 20-40 for compression and 30-50 for expansion. The new calculator is outputing values quite a bit higher than what's allowed in game for low weight/high downforce cars:

The most extreme examples being Gr.1 and Formula cars:

Especially if you want to also lower the stiffness:

Seems the upper bound's been increased to 50/60 over the original 40/50? Off the top of my head, only the Gr.B rally cars have dampers that can go this high.

Thanks Techlet, I will look at this and make some changes.
