Like we saw when your car rotation update posts were randomly killed off.
What does Marcellus Wallace look like?

Between the Hagerty's cars being almost on a set rotation and the UCD random number generators not changing one whit since (officially) the end of June and likely since 5/30, they're not really missed.

I don;t know, some people seemed pretty upset at the time :D

Well yeah, but that’s not exactly the reason why you initially and bombastically announced they were going to end. It seemed more like a result of the impatience you just described yourself. Anyway, I wasn’t hoping to further derail the thread down the “patience” angle, so I’ll leave it here.

Still, I'd rather have 2-3 tracks and maybe just 1 car vs. 3 cars and the possibility of no track.
Those two are not comparable. They can probably model 10 cars for the resources it would take to model 1 track. Not to mention the simple fact that, the people modeling cars are/were not the same as the ones modeling tracks.

Well not really but still, another update passes without any of the latest models, '16 is the newest. Seems they're really not the priority.
The real problem is that we're only getting 3 cars per update. 6 cars per update would allow them to do something like, 2 cars from the last 10/12 years, 1 from the early 2000s, 1 from the 90's, 1 from the 80's and 1 70's or below, of which 2 could be race cars.

Still trying to figure out why only 3, when we know that they could do a lot more in GTS.

What? You said they could only have one F1 car in the game, I said they could have as many as they like as long as they dont race each other. How is that semantics, and how on earth is it me being negative??
The Ferrari 641 and McLaren MP4/4 can definitely race each others in the ill-named "Formula 90s" class in FM7. Same thing with the 70s' cars (Ferrari/McLaren/Brabham/Lotus) in their respective class. You can even create custom championships to race them around actual F1 tracks.

The theory I've seen (and feel is likely) is that all these cars that have been part of the steering leak are already done and being slowly added to the game. These are cars that the can add and create new menus for as time goes on. While they slowly add these cars, they can work on adding new cars or upgrading GT6 cars. It seems that the game definitely needed more time for development, but was rushed out for GT's 25th Anniversary.

I think we'll get an update with more than 3 cars around the holidays.

I'm happy either way that 1; we finally get a road going Cayman and 2; it's a road going version of the race car we already have.

It was an odd omission since GTS days that is finally being reconciled. Now we just need a modern beetle road car and a 2nd gen R8 road car to fix some more omissions. Throw in the C8 Corvette too while you're at it... but I'm getting ahead of myself. One step at a time.

If a modern road-going Beetle was added to the game, I could see it getting about as much use as stuff like the Autobianchi, or the Renault 5... which is to say, you never see them ever.

I'd love to see the return of something like the New Beetle RSi, though. That thing was quite the beast in GT5 and 6.

To be fair, you never see them because the game doesn't give you anywhere viable to race them.

I'd gladly bash Beetles around in a Beetle Cup if it existed, online or offline.

Or maybe in a shuffle race... please PD...

This is funny, but at the same time... reminiscent of the quirkiness that used to saturate the Gran Turismo car list back in the days. Lol.
With what we now have in terms of engine swaps. I'd happily take something like a Fit wagon, or a newer prius. Especially if that means we could drop a 2JZ in said Prius, or a K20 in a Fit. :sly:

Out of the 15 cars added through the updates, only 3 are returning cars and only one turned out to be a used car. In my opinion, Polyphony should focus on these two types of cars next month.

Generally speaking, these are the two types of cars I want to see the most at the moment. :D

I wonder how this works from a dev perspective -- like, are they actually making these new cars every month or were they just sitting on them at launch but now just drip-feeding them?

I just don't understand why PD haven't added any of the QoL updates people have requested.

I recall Nenkai saying the same thing. Keep in mind he was also bang-on correct about the Race Shop last update, so this might really be THE update that brings us selling.
Don't suppose you could post the link to his tweet where he mentions car selling coming? I'm not following him, but he was right about the race shop.

what i would like to know is why were they able to make 7 cars for gran turismo sport and only 3 cars now for gt7

I don’t really care that much for selling cars to be honest, i think new events is the most important thing, 3-6 new events per month wont cut it, thats why i think i need a break for this game until christmas to have more to come back too hopefully they do a bigger holiday update

IMO more events with a good payout and custom races giving way more credits would be way better than the ability to sell your cars. Let's be honest, I doubt PD would allow us to receive much more than 30% of the price we paid for our cars. Unless you exploited the hell out of that ticket glitch and have hundreds of cars to sell (and considering PD does let you sell those cars), it won't make a huge difference, only a few more extra credits.

Custom races with good payouts on the other hand would have a bigger impact on the game. We'd have a reason to use pretty much any car on any track we wanted, and we wouldn't be so dependent on those few new menu books added in updates. Earning credits would become way less boring.

I do believe part of the reason people so desperately want to be able to sell cars is to have a cleaner garage. But PD could solve this adding an option to hide cars shown on garage.

I cannot say I’m overly excited for the McLaren MP4/4, because it will quickly lose its appeal after the novelty effect has worn off. This has already happened with the Suzuki Escudo and Nissan Skyline Super Silhouette. I mean, it’s nice to have them in the game but they have no natural habitat giving players a good reason to use them repeatedly.

I feel the Porsche Cayman GT4 will be the hero of this batch, because it has more long-term appeal in being naturally eligible for various events.

Sorry for double posting. I thought I was editing my previous post.

It’s already possible to clean up the garage. Just mark the cars you want to see as favourites, and then sort the default garage view by favourite cars. Voila, garage clutter is no longer an issue.
