Those two are not comparable. They can probably model 10 cars for the resources it would take to model 1 track. Not to mention the simple fact that, the people modeling cars are/were not the same as the ones modeling tracks.

The real problem is that we're only getting 3 cars per update. 6 cars per update would allow them to do something like, 2 cars from the last 10/12 years, 1 from the early 2000s, 1 from the 90's, 1 from the 80's and 1 70's or below, of which 2 could be race cars.

Still trying to figure out why only 3, when we know that they could do a lot more in GTS.
So are they not working on other tracks? Are they just working on additional cars?

I cannot say I’m overly excited for the McLaren MP4/4, because it will quickly lose its appeal after the novelty effect has worn off. This has already happened with the Suzuki Escudo and Nissan Skyline Super Silhouette. I mean, it’s nice to have them in the game but they have no natural habitat giving players a good reason to use them repeatedly.

I feel the Porsche Cayman GT4 will be the hero of this batch, because it has more long-term appeal in being naturally eligible for various events.
Good point. The ideal would be to bring the generic model of the MP4/4 accompanied by two cars, for example, FW12 and F188C generic cars, all from the same season, naming them something like this: Formula GT88A, GT88B, GT88C. This would offer a great depth of gameplay to the game, both in single player and online (Sport and Lobby) modes.

In fact, I think that PD could adopt this methodology, something it has already done in the past, in GTS, when it added the three Super GT models together. This is important so as not to leave the car model isolated and lost in its own universe.

Anyway, but we are talking about PD, and there is something that PD is not, is being coherent.

If any car lost it's appeal or use, it's the Rampage Camaro.

It's not classified as a Tuner or Road car, so there goes any chance of it entering anything other than the WTC 700/800

MP4/4 is going to have the same fate of the Ramapage, EXCEPT:

PD comes out and releases three "Formula" events. WTC: Formula or something like that. Then I'd say the Mclaren's atleast got some use.

Yes, but chance of them adding formula events are unfortunately quite slim. They did add Kei-Car events one month after adding the Suzuki Cappuccino, but other than that they haven’t made a big effort to give special cars a greater purpose within the game. GT7 hasn’t even revived the Nostalgic Car Festival events from GT Sport, meaning there’s no use for all the vintage classics the lengendary dealerships keeps throwing our way week after week. I have no idea what takes them so long, but I guess they have never heard the saying “while we’re young”.

Adding the newest model of a car in a game over iconic models is stupid, you don't know the type of pedigree that car will develop or if it will go down as a clunker. You can clearly tell what car's were added as contemporaries in Granturismo, they appear to be the random car's that no one would pick until you realize " oh yes it was the newest at the time the game came out . Drive club suffers from this issue, and in a way was a euro GT1, a bunch of cool cars but most of them haven't gone down as legends, GT1 got lucky it based its car list on a legendary period of JDM history, If it was 90's American crap, no one would care.

Just my two cents. Thoughts rolling around in my head and putting them out there. None of these cars seem very impressive to me. Sure, they are indeed cool cars, but how much use will they really get? What needs or gaps do they fill for us? Other than for those select people who really have a connection with these models, more specifically the Porsche and Judge? Just more options in otherwise saturated fields for the events they’ll be used for, which aren’t any of the most popular races or events for most. Just seems like they’ll mostly be “lost in the shuffle” after everyone purchases them.

The Porsche seems like an “easy” add as the Cayman Club Sport is already in the game. Yeah, I know they have to model and render both versions separately, it’s not just a copy/paste and change 1 or 2 things then call it done, but still seems like a quick/easy add.
The McLaren MP4/4 seems to me likely to be implemented like the FT1500 and Super Formula cars, not the actual iconic McLaren MP4/4 most know. Though my only real basis for this guess is that I don’t see PD giving us the iconic Marlboro livery. It’s possible they have given it alternative sponsor or just omitted Marlboro, but it seems unlikely to me. Sure, we’ll be able to upload the Marlboro livery ourselves, but I do not see it coming that way from PD directly. So my guess is it’ll be similar to the FT1500 and Super Formula Cars. Perhaps we’ll get a new event for those cars?

Road America would be nice
And BRNO...
Yes, GT7 needs more tracks then cars. Needs more Rally, more TT events, more races of 550.000Cr.(to all tracks)
(Yet) Can not sell cars but we can deleted them from garage, the same that PDi must do with the races of 5.000 or 10.000Cr.
So, all I whant for Christmas is... Pikes Peak:banghead:

Considering one of my old friends who is coming to my house to play video game is arriving on 24-25, that's great timing in my opinion! I wouldn't mind being able to get rid of the reward cars and any doubles I accidentally got by selling them.

The Porsche can be used for Schwarzwald and Porsche Cup events. As well as any of the European Clubman and Sunday Cups. Tune it up and I'm sure it might make good for the WTC race at tokyo.

The GTO can be used for the American Sunday and Clubman Cups and American FR events. Sadly that's about it.

The MP4 well that can't be used for anything other than maybe the WTC 700/800 events. Unless they give us a new event dedicated to Formula cars.

Ultimately what we have is one practical car for mid-game events, one practical for starter events, and one that's just there for sake of being there.

Red Rock Valley (was from GT2) ❔

Missing 3 "Dark Red" from GTS but not "Dark Rose"
[ R1 Dark > O1 Dark > O2 Dark > Y1 Dark.......]
R1 Dark Flakes L ❔
R1 Dark Flakes S ❔
R1 Dark Candy Metallic ❔

It's likely that they are working on both at the same time. Just different people between them. The better question is, to what extent are they outsourcing? Because right now, compared to GTS, we don't really see an improvement in the rate they add new content.

GT4 is a great addition, keep them coming! Now heres just hoping for a new circuit - surely they have at least one of the original circuits ready? I would love to see the return of Apricto Hill personally

On the talk of new engine swaps... are people talking about those that you still have a 0.1% chance of getting (or even lower than that actually)? Not really looking forward to something I won't ever have unless a glitch to the game happens again, which by itself is even more unlikely.

Still don't have the new Ford GT engine swap or the other new one which I can't bother to remember. Still have the 15(16?) from the bonanza.

You literally have the engines for sale on GT Auto but you can't store them to later swap them. ... *facepalm Yeah, sure, it's clearly a much better, intuitive and engaging way for players to be happy playing this game via RNJesus.

Which is what absolutely boggles my mind. They know the game they have. Yamauchi knows what he's created. You'd think they'd want to do everything in their power to appease their fans and try to get more people on board, playing the game. Instead, they've done the opposite and more and more are quitting the game.
