Bah. So yesterday I played for a couple of hours, stopped and couldn't reload my character. I spent the rest of the day resisting the urge to make a new character and start again, but then I thought that since it said saving is disabled, I could start a new character to have a poke around with and my first one would still be safe. I did, couldn't join GTAO anyway, so I gave up.
Now that it's not even 9am here so the US is mostly sleeping, I'm able to get online again... With my new character who shouldn't have saved, my first one is nowhere to be seen, and that's quite annoying.

I created my character yesterday. Counting all misconnections and restarts it took me about an hour to finish that race against Lamar. Went to the next mission but then the host left and got disconnected again. Gave up after that.
Hopefully these isseus will get solved quickly.

There's only a few missions (two after the race), then you're "free".
👍The same happened to me yesterday. I started a Closed Crew-lobby today and everything worked flawlessly. I'm not really sure if it still is...

I'm not sure... I just started the crew lobby and got through everything (without dialogue though).

I was trying most of last night to get online but it just wouldn't connect at all. It saved my character fine but just kept timing out when connecting. Anyone else had this?

I have played since I got home from work yesterday afternoon till now. I have had no problem with connecting online. It loaded up on the first try.
A friend of mine however is having issues. He has four or five PS3s running it, and one of them freezes as soon as Lamar pulls into that parking lot. The rest of his PS3s play it fine.

So, after I was forced to make a new character (4th or 5th time) it seems that character has been saved no problem, loads up every time now. Since that problem was fixed the game has decided that's not right and moved onto another problem to replace the previous one. Trying to start the 1st race (again) I get a 'Launching Session' spinny thing on the screen, a blurred satellite screen and nothing. Tried going into solo session and same problem, maybe I was too hasty into getting to 100% on SP and leaving nothing else to do in the meantime.

Finally got it working this morning. I figured at this most of US is asleep and Europe mostly at school/work. Also that rockstar support link back in this thread has been updated and a few PS3 issues have been fixed.

Anyone know how long the tutorial for Online is? I gave up and went screwing around after the first deathmatch was really slow to load.

Well I've lost my first character. Level 11, welp.

Edit: Has anyone actually tried the voice chat features? If so, how does it work?

Went on for the first time today, everything went fine until it started loading the first deathwatch you need to do. Just waiting for it to load. Also found a Sabre Turbo for my first car

Does anyone know how to just choose the co-op jobs or just GTA Race? I messed around for over an hour last night and cant figure out how to join the exact mode I want. My in game phone has 4 options. Team Deathmatch, Deathmatch, race, and missions (jobs). Race only brought me to regular race modes. So I keep picking missions hoping to get into some co-op modes and for an hour it was anything between team deathmatch or team vs team. I don't enjoy those and ended up losing about $2,000 last night. There has to be an easier way to just join the modes I want like in GTA4. Even when I host I am still not able to pick the exact mode I want.
I also found that I will probably start just setting up private games from now on to avoid random players in the world killing or messing with me while I am free roaming. I know we have the option to pay $100.00 to prevent players from killing us but sometimes you hardly have a chance after a mission before you are killed.
Also one of my friends was having a hard time getting online last night. So after about 30 minutes of trying I asked him if he was also on his PC or Phone or doing anything that would consume bandwidth. He admitted he was on his phone AND laptop while trying to join a game. So I suggested he turn those items off. About 2 minutes later he was able to instantly join the servers. So take that with a grain of salt but I would suggest making sure you have a good internet connection AND make sure you are not on any other devices that will consume bandwidth. Hope this helps.

I played several coop missions the night I played. All of them just popped up kind of like in single player. I couldn't just look for them. I would either get a call or text from Lamar or Simon and then be able to do them. Between me and my friend we had missions to do almost all the time. Most were repo jobs but a few were to rob a store.

Went to rob a convenience store with a friend, when I was kicked for no reason.
