I played several coop missions the night I played. All of them just popped up kind of like in single player. I couldn't just look for them. I would either get a call or text from Lamar or Simon and then be able to do them. Between me and my friend we had missions to do almost all the time. Most were repo jobs but a few were to rob a store.
Exactly. Now they never show up anymore. Also keep in mind, when you die and lose online in the mp modes, it takes the money from your bank. So I suck at these deathmatch modes and ended up losing over $2,000. I didn't realize until later that it was actually taking money from my account with each loss. Ouch.

I just want to do co-op modes and maybe some GTA race once in a while. There has to be an easier way to select those modes especially when I am hosting. I like the 2-4 player modes where you go across the map and steal a vehicle. Those are a lot of fun but I have only been able to do a couple of them. I thought maybe the missions would unlock later but I am level 10 and still it seems random. Hopefully this changes with an update. This is one thing I miss from GTA4. In 4 you can just select the exact mode you want to play. So far I don't see that in GTA5.

Nothing at all is showing up on my map, no missions or stores or anything.. I completed the first few missions and now nothing, and I've been playing a while. :indiff:

Yep had that happen rejoin a new room :\, After that it worked perfectly.

Here are some suggestions to hopefully get you online faster.

3 best options to try
1. Make sure you have a good internet connection. http://www.speedtest.net/
2. Make sure no other online devices are on in your house. No laptop, other PCs, other gaming systems, no phones.
3. Select the private option before you go online so ONLY you are on the server.

Hopefully this helps.

I think three missions - that'll say until the first multiplayer mission. 👍

Edit: Has anyone actually tried the voice chat features? If so, how does it work?

You go up the clerk point the gun, Hit select and persuade through you mic "Come On, Faster faster etc or something like that"

That only works if you are not in a party chat or private chat. You can also shoot the gun at the wall behind him.

Yes that should be fine. I am sure people are going to hear a lot of yelling between the store robberies and the strip club.

I didn't press select, I simply shouted "come on" (etc.) and I think it worked. My chat settings are "Crew+Friends", if that has anything to do with robbing the stores...

Has anyone seen animals online yet? Any way to hunt? Or is that coming later? I have not seen a single animal online. Was hoping to hunt with friends to make some money. I was pretty sure the mp trailer showed hunting.

Dont know :P I had a guy with me doing it. Ill do more testing tonight :).

You don't need to hit select [ps3] or any buttons to yell at the clerk or the strippers. Just yell anything at them.
Its "noise" activated. Doesn't even matter what you say, so have fun and be creative with it.

I yelled "hakuna matata!!!" and he replied with "You don't need to yell I am going as fast as I can!!"

My speed reads:

Download:5.00 mbps and upload:0.65 mbps

Not sure if that's good or not.

Totally agree. I love being able to call someone without being in the room with them.
I've yet to try that function, but I suspect it works as good as the "regular" lobby/crew/friends chat...

(Microphones is needed for the phone calls as well, right?)

It seems like my internet can only let me play in solo sessions... =( had the same problem in gta4.
Also, it told me to go into a Los Santos customs to evade police, when I got there, it said I had to lose cops... Not very much help there.

Thanks for the info. 5 down and .65 up. That's honestly not that good at all. So that's for sure the beginning of your problem. You definitely don't want ANY other devices on in your house when trying to connect otherwise your connection will be much worse.

I must admit Cops are much more tough then Single Player... At one Point cops came up to the Ally Way... I was like Crap!! And drove and cop chase continued :\.

Im surprised how stable Free-Roam is though 👍 on R*

My internet...

Download 10.70Mbps

Upload 1.00Mbps

10 down and 1 up is not too bad. And you are able to play online. So again, I think I am onto something with this connection issue I suggested. GTA5 online seems to be very bandwidth hungry. Well at least for now until they get it worked out.

Yup exactly. The other member had only 5 megs download and only .67 upload and they are having problems connecting. So I am onto something for sure. Thanks for posting the info.

Some games require a lot more bandwidth than other games, GTA5 Online seems to be one of those games.

I played BF4 Beta Earlier no lag.. and no problem 👍

I'll try getting my router to make a bandwidth log, so we all can determine how fast ones internet connection should be, in order to get online without lag. :D:tup:

What also is important for online gaming is your communication with the Server, your ping.

EDIT:
Good call Dean 👍

Right. We have established your connection is fine. You are able to play GTA5 online. We are trying to see why other members cant get into GTA5 online. 👍

Okay. Also try connecting online with my #2 and #3 suggestions.

2. Make sure no other online devices are on in your house. No laptop, other PCs, other gaming systems, no phones. (This is to help the bandwidth)
3. Select the private option before you go online so ONLY you are on the server.

Just did another speed test with two laptops and my PS3 connected.
Down:4.18 up:0.40.

Yes that's a VERY poor connection. Sorry. The good news is most internet providers will double your connection for usually only about $10.00 more a month with a simple phone call. I would call and ask. Also make sure you are getting the connection that your internet provider is advertising.

If you are supposed to have 10 mb down and 1 mb up yet you are only getting .4 down and .4 up, that's a problem that needs to be resolved. Give them a call. :)

With PS3, Laptop, and Windows Phone

Speed is

Download 8-9

Upload 1.00

With 2 computers on and looking up stuff on phone (im inefficient, lol) I usually get 18 mb down and 1.8 up. I've very rarely had ps3 online issues ever. In my 2 sessions yesterday, I had no lag whatsoever. Nosy some long loading times.
