^ Okay so it looks like as long as you have at least around 10 mb down and 1 mb up, you should be fine. Any lower than this and you will start having issues. Which is usually the general case for most game. Anything over 10 down and 1 up is usually fine. Some games are more demanding than others. Obviously GTA5 online seems to be very demanding for the online connection.

Just keep in mind the first initial loadup race screen for the tutorial is indeed the bottleneck right now. That could take 10 minutes to load. Once members get past that they should be fine. I highly suggest setting it to solo or private before joining that race. I cant remember what its called but its the option just before you try to go online.

True. I am sure they will dial this in a lot better within the next week or so. As we predicted and warned before the game came out.

Upload is the most important, not download. I can hammer my connection downloading something taking nearly my full bandwidth and play online games just fine but as soon as the upload is effected by a torrent or something online goes to poop.

It does sound like if you play with friends or a crew everything works fine. All the Youtubers and Roosterteeth and a bunch of people have been doing just that with no issues. So...something works.

Still download is important too. Especially if its only 4mb download. That's just not going to result in any sort of stable gaming.

So guys here are the numbers:

In= download, out= upload, "^"=up to X Xbps, "~"=within a range of ±100 kbps, "↓"=under X Xbps.

PSN peak: ~508 kbps in.

Load up (story; no online) peak: ~131 kbps in.

Load up (solo lobby) peak: ^~1.35 mbps in / ~500 kbps out.

Load up (public) w/ 5-6 users (total) peak: ^1.88 mbps in / ^850 kbps out. Regular, start: ^~625 kbps in / ^~615 kbps out. Regular after 3-5 minutes: ↓~200 kbps

3 users public peak (2nd server load-up): ^~500 kbps in/out.

Those were the peaks I had. My character was steady under all read-outs. No phones, computers or etc. was connected at the same time.

I did a few jobs with m8h3r and a couple of other guys in the GTP crew and I'm now at Level 7. I'm struggling to try and save up around $80k for a basic apartment though.

Same, I was initially going to forget it for a few days but the 30 or so minutes I did get on I really enjoyed and am anxious to get on again ASAP. Created another character as I read it may help, reset my router, disabled the wireless, made some extra strength coffee and have a window open ready to throw a controller out when all of the above fail to make a difference. 👍

I need to start doing that. He gave me a list of a few cars but I haven't actually started looking for them yet. Not even sure what they look like.

Still wondering how to set up an online co-op game of my choice. Also don't see hunting online. In fact I have not seen ANY animals online.

Since yesterday morning when I did the first race I had no connection problems. I'm now struggling to get money at level 8. After the third rob in a row the police starts to send helicopters.
The jobs given by Simeon are not worth, usually I start 10km far from the car he wants me to pick and then pays only 1.5k.

If you redo the mission you will start right next it. Missions like that are the ones I am trying to redo or at least something similar. I just want to do co-op missions like that online, but have a hard time finding them.

I'm pretty sure it's possible to join fellow crew members even if they aren't on your friends list.
