Hmm, I'll look into it then.

Finally got my online Merryweather, so I celebrated by immediately climbing:

Then I proceeded to beat the snot out of it:

By the way, if you use the 'Titan' mission to get one, as long as your in the jeep when the mission ends, you will keep it. That way your friends and yourself still get the $$$ for the mission.

Wish you could put lift kits on those. I don't use them as they don't have much fender clearance.

Anyway, just created a crew for this 4x4 stuff. Not sure how to post it, so just search for "Los Santos 4x4s" on the social club and you should find it. 👍 Will update the OP when I have access to photoshop.

That G Merc is amazing. I haven't tried the FJ going up the mountain. However using it in some smaller steep stuff it too is amazing.

Prob better and more capable then the Mesa. The Mesa last night I was using and Marcus using the G Merc. I had issues wanting to tip over in places and needed lil more run at spots he could just craw up.

Def recommend the G Merc for ones garage if off road is your thing. ;)

Probably depends on the situation and where you are. I've done some areas where anything with not enough fender clearance would have issues, and the Mesa had no problems.

In any case, we need DLC for the custom shop with 4x4 items! Should be able to make any truck/SUV in the game similar to the Off Road Mesa. :)

Me and SK made it :dopey:

I made it up no problem at low speeds. Infact at one point i had more grip the the Range Rover :P. I was Surprised. Stage 2 Engine, It was able to go up Steep Inclines.

It may be because some 4x4 ones that should be 4wd are only like rear-wheel drive in the game. That's why even the Sandking XL sucked at trails, sand and even river crossing.

How could you even say that? I have made it up the zancudo river and done some mad rock crawling its a beast.

I have a Stage 1 engine and transmission on my Landstalker, and it can climb up just about anything as long as the revs are kept high enough (but easier said than done).
It's pretty fun when solo climbing, but not great in a group, as I discovered on Saturday when me and 3 friends got stuck on a section of a trail...

We went up Mount Josiah, but without the trails or anything. Through the swamps and then later up mount chilliad.

It was great fun, would of been even better with more people.

Everyone looking forward to the meets should keep in mind that for most of them we'll essentially be crawling over the trails for the most part, literally at walking pace. Some are really narrow and big vehicles like the lifted truck won't work. (Depends on the trail)

So technically Speaking i can use my Crown Vic since its not that wide? Ill stay in the back?

Has anyone done any testing with transmissions and climbing? I'm curious as to weather the trans upgrades make a big difference on the trails.

I found the 3rd transmission upgrade (not race, but the one below it) works best on the Off Road Mesa

That's exactly what I was wondering. I hadn't really tested them, but I noticed when climbing in the Rebel with a race trans, it seemed to shift into second too fast, allowing it to bog down.

Adding a turbo makes the Merryweather Mesa insane! The torque spikes up like crazy to the point where you can do 3-wheels around most corners.

Something kinda weird I've discovered. There is no option to paint the stock wheels on the Off Road Mesa and the aftermarkets make your tires slightly smaller. But, if you instal aftermarket wheels and paint them, then switch back to your stock wheels they will keep the new color.
