Should the safety car rule stay?

I have to say that I'm disappointed with the race quality tonight...
  • lapped drivers that won't let you through even blocking you (!!)
  • overtaking under SC
  • lapped drivers parking the bus right on the apex (just like Codemasters AI - and that's not a compliment)
  • etc...
Too much drivers not knowing each other on the narrow streets of Monaco, not to mention the iffy new SC procedure.
Ryan took a beating last week for less than that, so how's this acceptable ?

Well, on and on it was fun still. I had to say it but I don't want to be the bad guy.

Ok my view

14 Drivers. Brilliant. Numerous TRL. What could be better
Race starts, and then chaos. I think it was that Thomisavia guy.

Safety car. Wow. Maybe knowing what to do is difficult but i'm pretty sure constantly swapping between 100mph and 20mph isn't how it should be done. Smashed up the arse, then I came around the pool complex and everyone was standing. Had nowhere to go sorry ninj. Then park on the main straight?!!
So before we start my car is ruined. When I pit, I come out and what the hell! safety car parked there? tried to miss it and damage again. great. I think we need to get rid of the safety car rule

But after that I had great fun. Very enjoyable. IMMORTAL came out of the pits and I held my own with him for 3 corners ;)
Then when he finished came over the crest and piled into the back of him

But despite a terrible beginning had good fun  well done IMMORTAL

I know you had nowhere to go mate, how we didn't make contact more times is beyond me... Did you pit when I did? (At the end of the pace lap)

we're all saying it don't worry

To be fair, it wasn't all my fault.. You had a lot of people overtaking under safety car, and the first race? Wow. Even cars which weren't lapped were overtaking me. Then PD made out I was blocking the pit exit, which I wasn't on my screen... (confused myself)

I think you should've enter the pits after the SC lap on restart and then press pause to stay in the pits. Other than that it wasn't your fault, it's the leader who have to stick with the SC and the others have to overtake you.

Thanks for the race tonight guys was interesting to say the least  on my part it was an enjoyable and fun race. I wish I had practiced a bit more and was able to tune the car. I joined 5 minutes before the start with a fresh car and had to add ballast, aero, take camber off and lower transmission before I even had the chance to practice. I never had great expectations for the race but it ended up being a good one for me.

The first race start was unbelievably bad, I was taking T1 and cars just slammed into the back of me. The race can't be won on T1, only lost but thankfully the race restarted. When I was lapping cars they were all very fair to me and gave me space when it was safe to do so

I'm looking forward to the next race now, should be a good one. Monaco is never easy with full damage on, so hopefully the racing will be closer than today :) Congratulations to Immortal for the win, first time I've really raced against you in the FGT. Seems to be your car mate lol ;) Hopefully with a bit more practice I can give you a good race.

you saw an incident at turn 1 taking out about 6 people.

Nothing.

Then people tried to regain their positions. You drove around between 100/20mph. People were having to park it up and take MASSIVE avoiding actions

Then you parked where we all came out. Before the race I said 'park in the pits'. you argue back saying you'll pit in a lay by, like at the chicane.

Fair enough

On track. wow.

And to.be honest, Monaco doesn't seem to be a.good track.for safety car debut...
Track doesn't matter. its a job of driving at a decent pace and parking no where near any other cars.

Not really safe is it

no lap after. I thought what did you mean then I found out

So I come out of the pits, hit the safety car, rage quit the room in a sea of profanity and the SC was still parked in the same place?

Mate, SC rule is a good idea but maybe a new driver, hell, I'm tempted to offer... Also, maybe a few quick SC rules...

SC controls the field until it crosses the Intermediate split line before the S/F (start of final sector). Then the SC rushes around to the pits and boxes, pit pausing when it enters. When the SC rushes to the pit lane, the leader then becomes the pace setter. No overtaking the SC until it is in pit lane (is within the white pit-entry lines). Leader controls the pace as they see fit, maintaining a minimum pace of 60mph same as the SC would in it's place.

Sound good? 👍

That was the original request mate

That was a frustrating night for me personally, was well off the pace and didn't like the way my car handled at all.

At least we had a big grid for this one.

Just out of curiosity, I looked at at few of @IMMORTALPILOT's laps in the replay, and I can't fathom how he is so quick. He's not even braking into half of the corners, and when he is it's less than 25% pressure. If I tried that I'd be in the wall and taking damage left and right :(

He is an excellent trailbraker, and has absolutely perfect corner exits. As well as many other things.

Actually, the incident at T1 only took out 2 people. You said only call SC if more than 3...

 I'd have another look at that one if I was you, there were 3 alone in the initial contact, not to mention whoever else got caught up in it. I was one of the lucky ones who found a gap through the FGT Graveyard, as it shall now be known...

First race, I did that. Yet nobody carried on racing after I went into pits? So I thought I should have crossed the line. But I do that but still wrong?

And it's not.my fault if PD says my car is in a completely different spot than it actually is...

That much is clear, probably trickier for me on a DS3 though.

If I could do half the things he could I'd be happy, but I don't even know where to begin currently. Doesn't help that I'm fighting the car every lap either however.

Was a decent race from my perspective. Got hit a couple times but only had to pit for damage once. Only thing that went more wrong than normal was my pit strategy, which in addition to being unoptimal, was also illegal.

I must have been missing a few on my Connection then. I saw one spin, and another hit him.

 That's a feeling I know all too well, I don't drive the car, the car drives me and I cling on for dear life trying not to die...

I enjoyed it after the shananigans. That Thomasavia guy caused a lot of trouble though

If there hadn't been a restart I was 5th and he was 6th, doing an excellent job of backing the pack up so I could get some points. Pretty sure it wasn't intentional though...

I thought that T1 was caused by a lag spike because cars just started scattering everywhere as if they just got shot out of a cannon. Managed to get out with minor front damage, which I could deal with.

1st of all, BUY A WHEEL. Before I got my DFGT, I was as slow as a lethargic amoeba. After practicing for a year, I'm where I'm at right now.

@David Talle mentioned he saw lag at the start, but I managed to squezze through and saw Thomas smashing into people

It looks like it on the replay...
