I can announce that GTORacing will still be a factory team.

However the switch from Nissan to Toyota was made tonight.

GTOR would like to welcome @SkengD into the family. We hope to take the fight to the teams championship.

When asked, skeng said all he wanted was 'to be beat that pesky Volvo, it's always in his nightmares'.

Game on ;)

Err. That won't help me from a standing start though will it? I need to get the car moving and the wheelspin killed off long before I can start getting the power down. ;) If we had a rolling start, my power:weight would make a huge difference for sure.

Put it this way, when I drive @CptMadBean's Citroen C4 during practice races, I beat him off the line everytime in that too. The car does not equal a great start, it is meerly a small part of the equation. There is also grip level, driver talent, tuning and reaction times. I've got most of them sorted by now.

My power:weight means that I am faster on the straight, that is a given. That's why I make sure that I can use my horses coming out of each and every corner.

Im not talking about standing starts, although yours are impressive. I'm talking about acceleration out of corners and not even being able to slipstream you despite being just a few meters behind on a long straight, and that's where the car does the job for you, because in time for the next corner you're far away, and the cycle goes on. Although that's just the track layout so ofcourse it will favour high HP cars.

Looking forward to tracks like Monaco:sly:

God I'm screwed at Monaco. :( I'm going to be crying for sure. Thankfully I have a reputation at that track, so I can hopefully at least hold my own.

The issue with the Volvo is this. If it is made lighter (and has less power) then it doesn't handle as well because you can't sling the weight around. The balance is all wrong, it's nose heavy. We had the exact same issue in the BTCC. When balancing the cars and lapping without others on track, the lap times that it manages isn't all that magical. So it's an awkward car to spec.

Skeng would use the pit stop to overtake me, because he knew that his lap pace was better than mine and that if he managed to seperate himself from me for a few laps he could get a lead. I shouldn't really be telling you that, because now you know how to beat me, but at least I'm being open and honest about the cars strength and the fact that it does have its weaknesses.

One thing that I've always done is tune an FF car well. Only one other person has my complete FF tune and he is no longer racing with us and to be fair it has changed since then too. I also drive practically nothing other than FF's, quite simply because I barely ever come onto GT6. Since the BTCC finished in October (I think) I didn't race at all until I started testing for the GTTCC in February. I'm an FF man. If I was driving an FR I'd be rubbish.

I agree with you about weight balance, very true. I just find it funny with the results varying at different tracks when the car matters more then the driver :P

The volvo sure was a wildcard to bring in to the series, another french FF would have been more suited if you ask me. I think you feel the same way:tup:

It was great seeing Skeng back on track. If anyone can get that Toyota onto the top step it'll be him. 👍
I guess I don't count huh? No, that's fine

The Volvo is hard to pass. But again the FF need straight line speed for the FR corner dominance.

It's like handicapping the car because you are in it ;)

Who are you?

I saw you on track last week, sliding about at the rear of the pack on the wrong tyres..... I haven't seen Skeng for months. It's always great to see familiar faces from previous series and being able to race with them again, I don't forget a racing driver. Let the fun and games commence. 👍

Now that is a good idea, it should be extended to everyone with TRL in their name, Xflow, Ian, MadBean, Ninja and anyone else using the cars that they use. That seems fair to me!
You've lost me there. :dunce:

But then again i'm in a FF

The difference is that yours likes going around corners, mine just wants to go straight on. It really is a guided missile.

ok feedback from the night

First big thanks to @yuc2002 for running room 2. Hope that there will be more next week

Big thanks to @sb360 absolutely faultless mate

Race 1 was quite boring from my perspective and It looked it. Not liking the Nissan.
Race 2 had a very good battle with @xflow1390 @SkengD @sb360 @Ian_83 very fun. I started on the hards and pitted early. Sometimes you want to quit lol but you just remind yourself you'll be strong at the end of the race.
Race 3 was chaos but still fun when I fell into a group of right people

The VW I think is good as is
Volvo, Ian is a cracking driver and has perfected the car. It won't be changed.
We're looking at adding more weight and bhp to the Nissan to give it a bit of ability to drive and change weight distribution. will need to check

But then again i'm in a FF
I know. so you have both ;)

Volvo is a tricky car but good as is. ian just makes it that bit more special

All part of the plan mate ;)

I thought there would be at least 10 drivers in D2 tonight even with the others missing
they finished with 4
tonight was their chance for me to trust them and they haven't so far

Bare in mind there were 4 drivers including me (5 in the lobby) after the D1 lobby refused to work and I gatecrashed them. They had a maximum of 8 at one point according to Stig.

But as soon as they got DC they went without letting yuc know
@Wavey2014 @fedelobster @Ant1974 @Matt tiff @Doomstorm16 if I haven't heard by you guys by Friday then I will have to move you to reserves. If we end up with 8 in D2 it may as well be scrapped

Ummm.... How does Buck have 9 and Ford only have 7? Thought Buck was driving the Focus?

Also, does anyone know if any of these FTO's can have a driver number, Mitsubishi are starting to p!$$ me off...

no that is right. she used the citroen race 2

That's not quite true MadBean. I had the starts mastered when I raced in the Alfa Romeo GT. 👍 I've just got better as the seasons progressed though.

But you're right, I like giving the FR guys something to think about at the start of a race. It's great fun.

I still seem to remember you not doing so well in starts, there again I seems to remember our Nissan was the rocket off the line.

Just my views on the last two weeks of racing.

- Volvo does not seem to be affected much by pens. At silverstone got good consistant placing and one win. Motegi got 2 wins and a third?! In race 2.

- vw's were mega at motegi. I saw one cruising down the front straight on like lap two and still had a good result. Then one pitted twice. Would have been top 3 otherwise.

- the cut in power in race 2 silverstone and race 3 motegi was massive, and without a slipstream (which I couldn't keep with power down) then I was left behind.
