Great times Dohboz đź‘Ť I feel that I also need to be a little more aggressive in the Tuned car as that's where I'm losing those precious few tenths....

finally top 100 in the US!!!!

I just watched your tuned replay. Very impressive. Smooth and fast. Nice!

I think my big hurdle right now is turns 8, 9, and 10...The real tight ones, and the final corner leadin to the speedway bank. Man, I cant seem to stay patient, and derive off line. = /

In the tuned car, try using 3rd gear through 8, 9, and 10. Use 4th for turn 11. Let me know if that helps any.

Ran another session with the normal car, slashed a sizable .15 tenths off my best time to a 1'47.711, although with my best splits a .5 is gettable.

My new overall time is a 3'23.5xx, which I believe is currently the second best overall time in the world, behind Takeuchi01.

Cheers Snicko and Osg. The drop in time came because I hadn't really spent any time in the tuned version. Just dropped a 36.27 in it :).

I'm struggling to keep up with you guys though, reccon I'm running out of puff.

I'm in Carindale BTW.

 36.25 .... geez. Manly here mate..... just down the road!

Awesome! Other Brisbanite Gt'ers. You GTP_ people are way too fast :S

The tuned one is difficult, because you can never quite tell just how much grip you will have when you put your foot down. That and I keep dropping wheels on the grass in the braking area of the last corner, which results in spins :(

*sighs* I dunno how you do it Dan....... speechless.

Because we're all GTA's aswell (GT addicts;))

Congratulations GTP_DEVIE on an awsome .8 run with the Tuned vehicle, amazing first 2 splits (I assume, although you did loose some time at the end, I assume again)

Practice is the main answer I can give, and also the desire to perfect the task at hand, and not settling for second or 3rd best:tup: Although with drivers like takeuchi and Lars, I may have to settle for such positions in the end:crazy:

new tuned time is 1:38.082 down from 138.404. DAMN, 1:37 is just teesin me! And im still on the dual sticks.
Thanks. Great advise.
new rank 132 overall = )
I really want to join a league or get a GTP online id. anyone got a link on how to become a more active and organized online racer? No one in my area plays like I do.

Some improvements

Stock: 48.59
Tuned: 36.49

I know where I am losing most of my time, in that third gear right hand corner half way through before you come onto the short straight (with the yellow striped stuff on the outside). I know what I have to do, but I can't seem to hit the apex right... grr.

Also need to be a bit more aggressive I think. I am pretty sure I can take more time off the tuned, but not sure about the stock.

Great times mate, you flogged me now, I won't make that gap back.:ouch:

You think I've been settling? No no no, it's just plain lack of skill.:P

Thanks Dan,
Yeah i mucked up turn 10 and 11 a bit,it doesnt take much at all. Also seeing your ghost in my rearview gave me heart palputations

Great times Devie and Dan đź‘Ť

What kind of split times are you guys putting up with the tuned Z, if you don't mind me asking?

Paulie
You think I've been settling? No no no, it's just plain lack of skill.

That just wraps it up for me, suffering till end of January, to come to the same conclusion. It's just plain lack of skill. (Confirms my issues with the GTP Qualifier, need to concentrate on this a bit during the upcoming holidays)

1'51.254 (Very unhappy not to have felt 1 lap was a good one till now)
1'38.515

1'50.399 1'49.842
1'37.812 1'37.632

It seems I better keep the daytime job.

Wow. Much win for GTPlanet forumers... No surprise with the Aussies, they're always fast, especially Dan. Keeps it up you aliens!

As for me, whoever cares, its a bit of a struggle. Havent played prologue in months... really rusty. I can probably get 1:36.5xx with sum practice on the tuned... i havent cared to race the normal car, but did one lap.

Mo n mo n mooo practice.
Off to dreamland.

40 (US ranking)
GTP_TRIEVELA7X
1'49.695
1'37.614
3'27.309

Think I can shave about .5 off each yet, but we'll see, a wheel would be super right about now...

Just found out off Jas12n that he cannot enter either... He is 16 years old and he races cars. So he cannot enter. A lot of the quick guys in Australia are too young!

Who else is not able to enter? I'm not sure if I'll be able to make it to anything anyway with work (dunno how the process works).

I reccon those in the top 10 now should pretty much be guaranteed top 20 at the end.

Played for about a half hour this morning and took a second off my Tuned time and about a second off my untuned time.

Currently stands at :-
Tuned - 1:37.537
UnTuned - 1:50.753

First part of the course seems ok, but the Esses are difficult, hopefully with practice I'll begin to get a feel for the car.

Are you guys with G25's using power steering and use simulation mode in the main settings? I'm finding it hard to tell any difference.

Too young? I'm probably too old :D

Times not as stellar as some of those posted, but currently

1'36.616 & 1'48.511 -> 3'25.127

Good enough for 11th in the UK at the mo.

Mafski... I'm using simulation, FF3, no power steering on my G25. Not sure if simulation or power steering do anything to be honest.

Hum...

Still 28th in PT, even after sitting out the whole weekend.
GTP_BurnOut 1'50.315 1'37.869 3'28.184

Gonna try to give it another go tonight. 1.49 low and 1.36.high are attainable... don't know how many hours (translated into days) will it take, and if I'll have the time (before the TT ends on the 24th), but I'll get there :)

Yeah it's wierd innit. I think I have Power steering on at the minut, I'll have to try without. I'll even be happy with a placebo effect reduction in my times right now. :dopey:

Simulation and power steering might work differently on a different wheel.

Just improved my stock time 1'49.733.
Didn't have time to drive the Tuned again, maybe tommorow.
Overall placed 44th with 3'27.703 I should be able to get under 3'27.

Edit// Did have some time to improve the Tuned: 1'37.349 close to my limit I think.
Overall 30 with 3'27.082

Little bit off again...

Total - 3'25.226

Tuned - 1'36.579
Normal - 1'48.647

11th - 20th in UK covered by only 3 tenths.

Hey, just ran a session with the Tuned (using Simualation steering with feedback set to 4 this time) and improved my time significantly to 1'35.613, which I believe is the current world record, pipping Lars by half a tenth;) Splits were xx.950 and xx.104
