Completely off topic question for you guys, but better here than anywhere else.

Has anyone here played NASCAR: The Game, and is it worth renting? How good is it with a wheel, too?

I have not played 2012 yet. So I don't know if they improved the pre-race lobbhy, voice chat, glitched and lag. I used to play 2011 single player and that is fun if you try it all on the hardest settings and hardest Ai. A few of my friends tried playing online together and it was very poor compared to GT5. They even made a patch and another friend of mine tried to do a Nascar Series on NTG and it still was horrible for a league. So in all, it's fun for single player career and poor for online competitions. But Idk how 2012 is since I haven't heard any reviews or played it but not hearing anything about it from some adament NTG fans is probably a bad thing too.

2012 isn't out yet Ken, it's got a November release date I think.

Wow, so my copy is current lol.....Note to MULE: Don't waste your time with it then. Unless you feel like beating the Ai, which is easy on the hardest settings lol

The rubber band AI made it way too easy to beat all of the races. Just short pit, so you drop to last place. From there on the leaders will automatically slow down, allowing you to unlap yourself, even under green. When they do pit, you lap the field and cruise to an easy win.

Confirming that Saturday was my final appearance in Sprint Cup this season, best of luck to all at the double header finale and hopefully see you in Season 4, I will be available for most of it 👍

Can you turn it off at all? lol

Not to rush you Drop but was wondering when you will be counting laps led, and getting results and stats out :)

Page for the sprints?

It's coming. I have to open the thread, post, and reclose the thread pretty quickly to prevent people from posting before I'm done reserving early posts. :)

Well apparently the EU is getting it on PSN tomorrow for 10 Euros which is about £8/$12 so I might check it out regardless simply because I want to try out some NASCAR tracks without having to pay £300 for them all on iRacing right now.

Could someone tell me one thing: is there anything special about the Gamestop car?

Other than being the best looking car, it only costs 500 credits to perform an engine rebuild or chassis rebuild. Otherwise, power and weight are all the same as any other NASCAR vehicle in the game.

Just so everyone knows, we are going to hold as much of the Sprint Cup owner's draft as possible immediately following this weekend's doubleheader finale.

If the points finish as they now stand, the draft order would look like this:

1. Season 3 GTP Sprint Cup champion - JoeOfTheFire
2. 2nd place in Chase points - RFLX_Niop
3. 3rd place in Chase points - Knelly
4. 4th place in Chase points - Droptop2001gt - AUTOMATIC PASS
5. 5th place in Chase points - MULE_9242
6. 6th place in Chase points - TomMcD
7. 7th place in Chase points - ACDCROCKS123 - AUTOMATIC PASS
8. 8th place in Chase points - dowhat13 - AUTOMATIC PASS
9. Nationwide Series Champion - TRYNOR88
10. 2nd place in NW points - Carbonox
11. 3rd place in NW points - Nater_Racing21
12. 9th place in SC points - RedPartyHat
13. 10th place in SC points - Furinkazen
14. 11th place in SC points - MattyMc1996
15. 12th place in SC points - Mudd
16. 4th place in NW points - D4LVY_
17. 5th place in NW points - GTP_Litchi

Remember, the draft is over as soon as the fifth and final team's ownership is claimed. After that point, it will be up to the five new team owners to sign free agent drivers to drive for their Sprint Cup and Nationwide teams.

Are the auto passes due to the fact you can't be a team owner and DW and ACDC aren't returning?

So 3 Auto passes effectively puts me 11th with 2 races to go. :D

Correct. As the league host, I will never claim ownership of a team going into a season. I will always be a free agent driver looking for a team owner that wants me to drive for his team.

Dowhat has officially quit, and will therefore pass on his turn. ACDC hasn't officially quit, but he has been a no-show for too long to consider him a viable team owner going into next season.

For those that are interested in being potential Season 4 team owners, you should know that Mudd is wanting to return as a driver in the Sprint Cup series for Season 4.

Gotcha, still unsure on what I'm going to do.

Nice! 👍

Just looking at the current draft order, I can't imagine the draft lasting longer than 12 picks. I already have a few different scenarios I'm imagining, but the last team always goes off the board by the 12th pick.

I am scared at 13... I might be out a drive then...

If you will commit to an entire season, I don't think you'll have any problem getting a full-time seat. Your driving has definitely improved from season 2, and your performance this season has been very respectable. But, I think your scattershot attendance record is what's going to scare off a potential owner.

Even if you can't run the 3 longest events (Coke 600/Daytona 500/Brickyard 400), you should still be able provide quality points and teamwork for someone in the rest of the scheduled races. I think you would have an outside shot at making the Chase if you would run the other seven regular season races, take a 2/3 substitution in one of the big three races, and perhaps start-and-park the other 2 (if your team boss allows it).

I reckon I can do in full all barring the 4 grand slam races, and I would still race them just to get some points..

You should be able to run the 300 mile Motegi race. It shouldn't last that much longer than the 300-miler we just ran at SSRX. Also, the 300-mile SSRX race we just ran has already been scheduled to be reduced to a 225-mile race for next season to help out guys like you, Carb, and Litchi.

Guys, in regards to The SPRINTS this year, I am considering actually handing out real trophies.

Now I need to look into whether this is achievable price wise etc, but if it is, would the Winners be willing to (privately and when the time is right) give up their home address to me for them to be sent.

We could then take pics with our trophies etc to show the world . Niop of course would probably need a whole bloomin' shelf at this rate :grumpy:

It wouldn't be worth me looking into this if it's a big fat no. Let me know 👍

That's an awesome idea dude, absolutely epic!

I'm pretty sure you could get some cheap trophies someplace, we're not talking Olympic gold medals so you should be fine ;)
