This is looking really cool, I'm excited to start! :)

Wardez, could you give a quick briefing on what you plan to write up for your "definitive guide to racing online in Gran Turismo 5" and your "so you want to start a series" pages?

That way we can all be on the same page and know what to expect from it?

DAYUM Wardez!
That deserves a spot in the OP!
I'm going to create a registration form for volunteering for a position.
If I do that, would you be so kind as to make it really pretty?
I'm also going to post some possible improvements to the novel you posted in a little bit.
Looks pretty good!

Yeah by all means. Hoping to add more to the rules I posted over time. It's not all covered yet!

But yeah, a volunteer form would be useful.

Oh and @JL:
The reason we're taking the total time of 4 laps rather than just 1 is because we're looking for consistency, not hot lapping prowess.

When should we work on setting times? And is having access to the spreadsheet mandatory for my job, because my Gmail account actually didn't work and I don't like sharing my personal email.

Create a dummy account that you only use for this, not your personal email. You don't have to give any real information to create an account, I have stigshero@gmail and as far as The Great Google knows my first name is The and my last name is Stig. ;) I only use that account got GTP related stuff and there's no way to connect it to me (unless you're Anonymous). 👍

Thank you gatrs, you're the best! That'll save me a few minutes 👍.

Can you link me to the sign up page?

The sign up/registration database is really easy to get to. Http://bit.ly/ORBsignup

I've created a GTP ORB Google/GMail account.
I'll PM you, and anyone else that wants the sign in info.

Trust me, like I said before, you don't want to deal with the nightmare that is trying to share Google accounts. Take it from a voice of experience. I've started and maintain most of the spreadsheets that people us on GTP.

Every one giving me an E-mail to add is just the only way to go.

@JL
yeah I'll give you a little more about the write-ups/guides I'm making later tonight.

Well I'm never gonna be using except on the rare occasion one of the judges won't be able to input infraction info (if infraction stuff is even in the Doc), so I figure with my minimal Google Docs role, sharing would be okay. Still waiting for the PM, gatrs 👍.

To say it again. Send me a request on PSN, and join my lobby in a half hour. I will be running through those options mentioned earlier, and I would appreciate you guys hopping in with input and getting your own times.

And I truly don't understand all of this GoogleDocs stuff, so I am going to need to be walked through it. That thing that Wardez put up was just for volunteering to administer license tests correct?

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I already have my job, and my job doesn't require Google Docs so it would be pointless for me to have access to the account. Just extra work. And add me on PSN JL, I'll be on in a little while. My PSN is over there. <---

We should not share a Google Account. Like Stig said it's really easy to come up with a dummy account to use for access.

And yes I have a separate form for submitting incidents for review like I mentioned in the rule write-up. We definitely need to have every one touch base with the database for that so we can have centralization and a good automatic record.

Soon I'll get everyone to get into GTP chat(or if you all have MSN, Skype or something we could to that even better) *so we can all discuss this and I can give a sort of live tutorial on how to use the sheets.

I really don't think I need to use the sheet, does it entail anything I would use as a judge? It sounds like a lot of extra page shifting when I could do it all up here.

The incident review system compltetely relies on the Incident submission form and its entire back end database strucuture.

From someone requesting a review to stewards reviewing each case to deliberation and finalization. It all has it's place on the spreadsheet every one will have access to.

Relying on one person so search through threads for people looking to get an incident reviewed. Hunting for people's posts, PM'ing each other over and over just for little things. The form and sheet would automatically sort and timestamp everything for us so it's only a matter of doing the actual inspection and not having to do anyrhin else

So how would I find the complaint? Would it get PM'ed to me from the Google Doc? And no one linked me with how to sign up for Gmail, since it looks like I have to, which isn't a problem if it's a necessity.

I think it's http://mail.google.com/
Not sure though.

EDIT: and Wardez, I'm sorry but you haven't convinced me that one Google account is more difficult. :(
Can you please explain that?
I haven't figured out how to access the "results" for the license test application form. :/
Thanks! :)

Btw the email doesn't need to be Gmail, you can sign up for any email provider and it'll still work.

@Cam
No the sheet doesn't message you, it's just automatically updated so it's up to stewards to check it all the time.

Okay. I gotcha Wardez. Does anything else need to be discussed tonight?

I had a bunch of improvements I was going to propose, but I forgot them all by the time I was done reading lol.

One that I remember was about the A Class licenses.
Could you re-read that section?
It seems a little odd.
It said "to apply for an advanced license, you must have...and that's how you get an intermediate a class license."
Or something along those lines.
And IMO there should be eight license levels total.
Beginner, Amateur, Intermediate, Advanced, Amateur A Class, Intermediate A Class, Advanced A Class, and the Super License.
Just IMO though.

I think he created badges for all of those levels. And I think we decided that it should be winning a certain number of races/championships.

We did, but his write up only had two a class licenses+the super class.
I'd quote it, but that crashes the iPod app because its so big lol.

Yeah we can come up with a solid revision. That's something I was gonna bring up for priority so you're already ahead of me :)

Give me like twenty minutes. On my lunch break now.

+ my thumbs hurt and it's your faults.

I see what you mean gatrs, I like your idea too.

It's 2.6 section D.
lol, that sounds sooooo nerdy. haha
I think that those the advanced and intermediate a class licenses should be what Wardez stated, then amateur a class should be three podiums?

Sure, I didn't read all of it though. Could you quote me the license requirements? :guilty:

Do I have to bold it out for you?!?!? :P JK

I'll edit in the section it was.
The entire post is in the OP if you need it.

Look for section 2.6-D

Oh! I'll go look then. Hold on a second.

EDIT: Yes, I like the system just the way it is in the OP. Very simple, yet enough levels to make it challenging.

I am about to start going through this list:
Mercedes SLS on Nurburgring GP/F (Sports Soft)
Nissan GTR on Suzuka Circuit (Sports Soft)
Cobra on Trial Mt/Laguna/Cote d'Azure (Racing Medium)
Suzuki Swift on Tsukuba (Comfort Soft)
Golf GTI on Monza (Comfort Soft)
with Kenwilinski (PSN Crazy_Bassist) and record some average lap times for the two of us.
