That doesn't sound like a lot of help. Not trying to be mean, but the only thing I can think of is us finding some type of image that people can post in their series OPs. Anyone good with PhotoShop?

I happen to love the idea of using a Cobra!
It's one of my favorite cars! (1:11.9 Deep Forest, 1:25.1 Trial Mt.)
But on that note, are personal tunes going to be allowed?

Which reminds me, we're going to need a logo.
A seal of approval or something like that.
And if you wish to humor me, a gogatrs seal of approval. :P
Which will be used mostly in threads that contain women.

Duh?
Trial Mountain or Deep Forest for the Intermediate level test?
Up to you guys.
And no to the personal tunes because these cars are all from the Recommended Garage.

Wasn't sure if you wanted to use the one from the "Suggested Car" list.

And I would tone down those times for it because I spent many many hours working to get that quick in that car.

It doesn't matter to me, just let me know before tomorrow night because I'm going out and I'll set the times before then (with a DS3, my wheels are not with me right now). Tell me which cars with which mods at which track to run, and I'll be happy to. And we should probably wait until we have the name to do a logo. So we've decided to not do the file, just the seal?

And using a recommended car would make more sense, since you can't see what mods people put on cars.

I might be able to help with a logo, but Wardez is probably better than me at Photoshop. I can help set the target lap times if needed...

How about me, you and JL set times and we can average them out for, let's say, the silver time? Then put a second slower for bronze, and a second faster for gold?

R1600... You run those alien fast times... lol That wouldn't be fair!
I call silver times, R1600 can do gold

Just so you guys know, my PS3 is RSOD'd right now, so I won't be back on for a while.

That would he helpful.
I think that if you have the time, you'd also be a good man for the job of directing the racing schools.
Being a GTA national finalist should give you some credentials and might make that quite popular.
I knight thee: Chief Instructor.
Only if you're up for it though.
That job might be one of the most time consuming ones as it would require about an hour at a time if you were to do the actual classes.

Are you up for it?

And I run slow times. If your normal, we would probably get an attainable average time :).

EDIT: National Finalist? Good on you, R1600! I'm honored to be associated in the same group (not on track, just this group ) with you, bro.

Weren't we going to do a separate car/track combo for each one?

Are you up for it?

That would be awesome, but I don't know if I have the time for it. Especially if I'm going to be running the FMSC through all this, then add in my job and my attempt at moving to Texas later this year. Might not be a good idea. :indiff:

Yeah. You would tell us the three different recommended cars you wanted us to use on your selected track and we would set all three times and average them for a passing time. Or at least that's my suggestion .

I won't claim to be as fast as he is, but I do race a Spitfire in the real world, and I have some amount of experience in racing myself, so I'd be glad to help him out as he needs it.

Yeah, I hear for you.
I don't have the time (or the PS3) to do it myself.
Maybe as a guest instructor every now and then.

I would volunteer, but the guests would probably end up teaching me things . Is there anything else we need to discuss about #4?

👍

Just had another idea.
What about approved circuits?
We could approve certain course creator tracks for online use.

Sounds like a good idea. Maybe like a list of available tracks for series leaders to use?

I think Wardez is going to explain that one.
It's an interesting idea, I'd like to hear it out.
That could be something that we just assign a team of two or three people to go develop for us instead of the entire board doing it.
So I'm gonna go to bed now. Will discuss more tomorrow.

This has been VERY productive so far.
Let's keep the ball rolling.

While we wait for Wardez's response, we can brainstorm names. :D

Are you going to bed or brainstorming names?

I would suggest something simple, maybe the GTP Overseers of Series Racing Committee (OSRC)?

I have a couple really good ones that I made track maps for and named each corner. We'll be using one of them on Sunday in the CR-Z Cup.

Anyone like my name? I particularly like the OSRC acronym, has a ring to it :). And that sounds great R1600, this is coming together really well. I'm glad to be a part of it.

I have a created track that we will be running in the VSCS that has some 500+ feet of elevation change and is a real challenge/blast to drive. It's on my shared list if any of you would like to give it a go.

Just checking in real qucik from my phone:
I'm brainstorming names myself right now but what did you all think of the original one I had? "Gran Turismo Cultivatori" - The GTC
Also, I think that in order to set a gold time we need to do an open challenge through a series of track days where a bunch of us try and set fastest lap on each car/track combination.

I'd love to set a day aside sometime soon where RT and a bunch of us get together to try all kinds of different combos till we know which would work best for each level. Gets me so excited to think about, should be a lot of fun.

Any way, after we get our records we should be able to subtract anywhere from a half to a full two seconds, depending on track length, to have our gold time.

As far as user created tracks go; I think we should have a dedicated and shared PSN account so that we can keep official tracks in one place.

This also might be feasible to use as one master account everyone can add. Then a steward can log in to it to run license tests. Would make it centralized.

I dunno about Cultavatori. It sounds like something from Assassin's Creed to me. I like the Italian idea though.

As for your notion of the shared account, I actually really like that. The logistics may be an issue (If two people try to log on at the same time, one will be kicked) but otherwise, I think it's brilliant.

There are people that have asked the mods if they can share an account in the past.
The mods said no.
So that's not an option.

Not a shared GTP account. Shared PSN account.

I don't see how that would be an issue?
Other than only one person could be on PSN at a time with it.

Yes, but it can only be on five PS3s...
