Is race event 3 planned?
Slow down.
We need to discuss upcoming events and projects among the race admin team.
Stay tuned. 👍
Is race event 3 planned?
The final races will take place coming Saturday at 1030 GMT at Suzuka with the 5 division champions.
I will set up a private room in the racebox (GTP chat room) to discuss race specifics with the finalists.
We will start at the 40 second mark in reverse division order.
If we don't find each other in the line-up, the race will be cancelled unless one of the driver is host. In that case he will sit out the race and a restart will be agreed upon thru contact in the racebox.
The next race (two and three) will be agreed upon thru the racebox as soon as possible after the first race.
I will keep score of the race points deserved in each race: 5 for first place, 4 for second place, etc.
After the finish of the last race, after contact and agreement with all participants, I will contact the race steward with the outcome of the races.
this all, at least, if the other finalists agree to this

Sorry for being unclear. Yes, 1030 GMT in the PM. Nice to have you with us, Kevin 👍You are running at 10:30 PM, GMT, correct?
If so, I will be able to attend.

Yesterday evening (GMT time) we had our final races. Kevin, Jack and Daniel were present to steward or observe.
It took a while before we found all of each other online in the first race, but after that there were no online problems.
During all 3 races we were hindered by traffic and punters, in such a way that the 3rd race even had to be restarted.
All finalists behaved very properly and tried to avoid paint swapping to the bare minimum.
Results:
div. 1 MAY 1 (5) 1 (5) 1 (5): 15 points
div. 3 NIC 3 (3) 2 (4) 2 (4): 11 points
div. 2 SAU 2 (4) 4 (2) 3 (3): 9 points
div. 5 MAR 4 (2) 3 (3) 4 (2): 7 points
div. 4 BIG 5 (1) 5 (1) 5 (1): 3 points
Obviously MeAgainstYou is the champion of the event, I had absolutely no right to be among these champions and Marooned was the big surprise of the evening to even threat the Division 2 champion while being Division 5 himself. Also Nick proved it was a good thing he was promoted to Division 2 the other day 👍
I want to thank Kevin for organising this great event and all others to make this into a great tournament

although I have to add something: (don't think I'm a bad loser. I just want clarification to an issue which was bothering me)
We rerun the last race because Nick was hampered by an other non participating driver.
In race 2, I was punted off track by another car twice. I lost at least 1 place because of that incident. should I have asked for a rerun too? I didn't because thats what everybody has to live with in online racing. either we should do reruns till there is no incident with non participating cars (which car be very time consuming) or no reruns at all.
what are your thoughts concerning this issue? offcourse I hope this issue becomes obsolete soon when we have privat races, but till then we have to handle it as fair as possible.
cheers
Sauber-F1
I don't want to talk my results better. Nick clearly deserved 2nd place no doubt! 👍
The difficult situation is: Are you a sportsman or insist on your rights... I didn't want to be a poor sport so I had to agree.
And distinguish between "it's about victory" and "the incident was just on the back of the field" isn't a solution in my opinion.
I will just live with that issue till it solves itself.
I'm sorry that there was any issue at all. All of you are deserving of your places for your division.
The final format was more conducive to fun than competition.
i dont get it.. dont know why you're bringing that to here if we decided in the right time what to do...
anyway... sportsmanship, fairplay... always wins for me! better lose with respect that win in an unfairly and odd terms... i think the last table results shows very well the pace of each driver on the final.. fair enough 👍 but dont feel bad losing the final against nick man... you're the champion of div2 and thats a great achievement due the number of participants... well done my friend
Sorry if I expressed myself unclear. I'm not questioning the result of the final round AT ALL!
I was questioning the general random decision of when to rerun a race and when not. I never ask for a rerun even if it means I lost the victory. and because I don't want to be a poor sport either I usualy agree when someone else requests a rerun. This way I always have a slight disadvantage.
Sure, if you benefit of someone else bad luck its not an enjoyable win either.
But in my opinion it should be the same for everybody.
I'm terribly sorry if I sound like a pain in the arse!
No offence!
