GTP_rpm vs. GTP_Ren831

Jumped into this having only done about 50 laps, but instantly felt more at home with this combo than the Vette at Suzuka on R3's! I opted for R1's and got down into the 43's quite easily, without having to mess up. We agreed to race and away we went.

First attempt was disconnect after 30seconds...

Second attempt went well, although 12 competitors. I was on pole, got a great start (I think Ren831 was using 4-speed?) and led into turn 1. I saw Ren831 brake very late into there and when coming out of turn 2, I saw Ren831 having a massive tank-slapper! I lifted off fully expecting him to spin but he managed to save it...so back on with the throttle.

Kept a lead on the first lap, we both managed to get passed 2 newbies quite easily but the drifting BR34 was slightly different lol. I managed to squeeze down the inside of him while he was busy blowing smoke...but I think Ren831 wasn't so successful.

After that, I led the whole way. Didn't do a single lap outside of the 43's, with a fastest of 1'43.207 on my own, 100% clean. I was pulling away from Ren831 consistently, ending up about 8seconds ahead I think?

Winner = GTP_rpm

I think I've got Jack next and last time I felt confident enough to beat him, it was on R1's around Fuji and I was very, very drunk. But this time, it's still on R1's and at Fuji...but I'll be very, very sober :D

Thanks to TZT for help on 2nd and 3rd gearing and thanks to Ren831 for matching easily.

Yeah, just realised that!

I'll soon get the hang of having to jump from forum, to forum to find the relevant information with this bloody event haha!

I hope that week 3 isn't R3's and big wings again :D

This evening I met Crispy for my next race in the second week of this wonderful event. Tho we promised he'd do a writeup I couldn't resist post something.

Obviously he won the race (D3x vs. D4b) but the first 3 laps were very exciting as he tried to overtake me, I didn't block but stayed on my line, he drove very gentleman like and overtook me twice, then I got the lead back after drafting him on the long strait. Then in lap 4 I misgeared and screwed up my braking going into turn 1, and then he was gone :)

Thanks for a wonderful race and good luck in the event Chris 👍

GTP_MeAgainstYou vs GTP_Ren831
winner: me

1st laps were a really calm laps, watching each other checking the paces... and only with a few issues on the beginning laps with 1 s2000 i think.. on the hairpins.. Ren831 got a penalty because of him.. i waited on the straight.. and then nothing major to tell after that.. i wanted to tell more but i was alone on my own after 3rd lap... he said that he was out of pace tough.. anyway.. thanks for showing up man

GTP_MeAgainstYou vs GTP_JackStanley
winner: me

with the previous race i was now warmed for jack :dopey: .. a very different race as i expected... all the race changing positions... but i realize that on the last corner, every time that i was in front of jack, he couldn't pass me before the finish line.. and when things were upside down.. i was able to catch him before the line... that gave me a bit of confidence for the last lap in any of both cases i thought... :dopey:

but the race wanst only for 2 guys..

we found an DK guy on a California on the last 3 or 4 laps and i thought things could be complicated because the guy had a similar pace and he was between us many times.. i was starting to get 🤬... although most of times he was clean 👍 we left him a bit behind during the lap9..

then i passed jack on the main straight. he made a little spin exiting on the 1st corner and that was enough for me to brake a little the draft... and that was it until the end of the lap...

a very enjoyable race and really hard to beat one of the mans that i was most afraid to race because the balance between us, is in his favor.. :banghead: :irked: however this race was now official.. muah.. :sly:

good luck on the next rounds to both of you Ren & Jack

and thanks to TZT for the great setup 👍

Could GTP_redbullfix and GTP_d3dr34k5 please pm me so we can set up a time to run. Thanks.

GTP_aussienicko vs. GTP_drama-kyd
Winner: GTP_drama-kyd

We were lucky with our grid matching, there was only us two on the track. 👍 DK started from pole and I on 2nd.

I took the lead at T1, and held it for the whole lap, with DK right on my tail. Along the back straight, DK passed me and then I chased him down the straight, and for lap 2. This procedure continued for the whole race, with us continually changing positions, and never being more than 0.5sec behind each other.

Coming into lap 10, I was holding 1st and DK was right behind me. I was lucky enough to hold it, but unlucky enough still being in 1st by the end of Spoon. I tried to get the best possible exit speed from it, but DK had good straight line speed and caught me with ease, he passed me just before the 130R but I was hot on his tail. Coming into Casio, I just snuck through on the inside to try and claim 1st, but DK held his line well and managed to pull out ahead, and he crossed the line in 1st by 0.076!

It was a fantastic race, I really enjoyed it and wish DK much luck in the future rounds.

How come you were at Suzuka? Was this week 1 still? Bad luck mate, and congratulations to Drama-Kyd for a well earned vistory.👍

Yes Paulie, we were racing week 1 Suzuka due to DEVIE's resignation.

Well here I am to do my write up of the race between Bigracer and I, and he's beaten me to it

I'm not sure there's a lot I can add to what Bigracer has already put. But full credit to you Steven, those first three laps you certainly knew where to place your car to make it very hard for me to find a way past 👍

But yes, thanks to you too for a great race and the very best of luck with your race against GTP_Eriba 👍

GTP_Crispy74 v GTP_MatejH
Winner: GTP_MatejH-maybe

Race report:
Race with both of lag on both sides.
Lot`s of touches becaouse of lag
But what a race.
Kubica and Massa batle is bad compares to our.
Lot of overtaking and great drive.
Crispy-best racer I`ve ever raced.
On 1 turn in lap 10 I overtook Crispy and on main straight I made a blocking move and he hit me in the back and I won by .200.
I thaught that I made was dirty but he told me no problem.

I think about winner in this race should decide EDK in conversation with Crispy.

Maybe 0.5 points for both of us?

Yes it certainly was a really good race, shame the lag made passing a lot harder!! But there was a lot of great overtaking moves there.

Yes there was a little issue with the blocking at the end there, but as Mate couldn't re-race as by the sounds of it, the poor guy is feeling quite unwell, he gave me the win, but I thought it wasn't that bad a block really, and refused, but we both agreed that race admin should decide as neither of us could,

why did he gave you the win!? if he made a clean block i dont think he should do it.. otherwise he should.. 👍

Can you describe me clean block?
I think I moved once to the right side but I am not sure?

What happened was I had the run coming out the last corner on lap 10, I moved to the right to pass and he came over which was fair enough, so I moved right again, and he moved over slightly and I hit his rear quarter. I didn't think it was that big a deal!

He apologised for the block and said I should win as he was unable to re race, I refused and told him to take the win, neither of us could come to an agreement in the end...I'm happy for him to win the race but he said he'd ask EDK for a decision.

I didn`t wanted to be unfair so if I was unfair, take the win but only problem is that first move I did I did fair, that slightly move I don`t know I did ,I think it was becaouse of lag:

10: Defensive Driving:

A:
Leading cars have the right to choose their own line down a straight. They can change their racing line once while driving down a straight (Move from the outside line to the inside, or vice versa). As they approach the next corner, they can return to the racing line of their choice However, they're not allowed to change their line when the behind driver is directly behind and changes his line to try and make a pass. If your movement causes an accident, you're responsible.

I know that rule so I think admin needs to decide.

It's clear that there is a fair amount of sportsmanlike behaviour being shown by both sides, and no win at all costs attitude which is refreshing.

From my interpretation it sounds like Mate has made 2 separate moves to block on the same straight? In that case I think it falls foul of the quoted regulation.

Would you have made it past him before the line were it not for the second move?

All the best
Maz

I really don`t know Syn but I see that EDK is looking at this thread:tup:👍👍

EDIT: We decided winner GTP_MatejH but I am not too happy with this win :indiff:and I ope this race doesn`t affect to other Crispy`s races:tup:

Wish you luck in other races Crispy:tup:

Have discussed this matter in private with Zujo 19 and Crispy74.

Based on our discussion, Zujo 19 is awarded the win. Congrats. 👍

Kevin

Commiserations Crispy, congrats Zujo.

Shame the result was made this way, time to put it behind you and look forward to your next races.

Good luck to you both in the rest of the Event.

Phillip

You win some, you lose some...that's racing :D

It is a shame it ended with a bit of confusion as to who actually won, as the race itself despite some horrendous lag at points, was absolutely brilliant, thoroughly enjoyed it 👍

And best of luck to Zujo for his upcoming races 👍

GTP_Tzayed, need to p.m me about our race and time. I have already sent you a p.m. a couple days ago. We need to get the race in, by the June 15th.

Hey Chris mate, thanks! This means a lot to me. Well as long as 'where to place your car to ...' doesn't mean block the passage :D

You were without question faster and more consistant than me which proves you are D3 material and I belong somewhere between D4 and D5 :)

GTP_Alexi vs. GTP_CarlPKY

Winner: GTP_CarlPKY

Before our race this evening, I met up with Alexi in the race chat, and we decided to run a practice race to warm up. Based on that encounter, we both knew that we were in for a close contest. We entered the race at :12 thinking we might be lucky enough to catch a small grid. Well, we managed to get matched with 7 other drivers, making a grid of 9 :scared: Thankfully though, most of the other drivers had GTP_tags 👍

I started from pole, and we both made it cleanly and safely through turn 1.
At the end of lap 1 I had about a 1 to 1.5 second lead, and I had already decided before the race that if I was in the lead, I would pit on lap 1.
So I pitted and Alexi continued on. When I re-entered, Alexi had roughly a 6 second lead. He continued in the lead until lap 5 when he made his pit stop.
When I crossed the T1 marker at the beginning of lap 6, I had about a 3 second lead with both of us having made our mandatory pit stop, so my pit strategy had apparently worked about as well as I could have hoped. But then I suddenly got a lump in my throat--I looked at the HUD and we were about to catch traffic :scared: Thankfully, again, we were both able to navigate through the traffic without incident, and I was able to cross the line with about a 3 second gap--pretty much what it was after Alexi's pit stop.

I want to thank Alexi for being so great about setting up our race date and time, and also for being a great sportsman and driver  I think one of the main reasons I managed to win this one was the fact that I was on pole and had the luxury of deciding to pit early so I could just concentrate on driving the rest of the way.

Otherwise, our lap times were remarkably similar. Also, I don't know what setup Alexi was running, but I opted for R1 tyres due to the fact that my laptimes were virtually the same as with the R2 setup, only the R1's afforded me a little more straightline speed which is important at Fuji.

Again, thanks to Alexi, it was a pleasure to meet you on the track, and good luck 👍

This race will be re-run tomorrow.

Thanks MAY, and after trying the DFGT again a couple of weeks ago, I'm back to the G25 wheel full time now. I wish I had the nerve and wiring ability to connect the DFGT wheel to the G25 pedals (that would be the best of both worlds IMO :) ) I know Strop has one, but I am too afraid I would mess something up, on top of voiding the warranty :scared:

ye.. you're lucky in have 2 fantastic wheels... keep it safe then.. and good luck on the next rounds.. ill be watching.. something is telling me that you'll do a good campaign.. dont ask why.. 👍

Carl and Alexi - Did you guys realice the rules did not call for pits? Since you both pitted, and if you agreed in advance, no big deal. But I want everyone else to be sure they are not required.
