Bad luck ASH, well done again PASM. Hey, you made mistakes for him PASM? Why didn't you do that for me? One mistake from either of us in our race would have cost us the race, and indeed, did cost me the race.:dunce:

Edit: PS- 5spd > 4spd.:P

GTP_ASH332 vs GTP_PASM
Winner: GTP_PASM

First we decided to race at xx.25, and I was hosting the race, but ASH didn't get placed on the grid. Shame, because It was only me and GTP_Toivonen at that point who were on the grid.

Second try it all went smooth and we synced up into a race with 3 other drivers (non-GTP). We waited 30 seconds and off we were! Ash got a good run into T1 from second place, but we both were conservative and I got out of T1 with a slight lead. I noticed Ash had shorter gears and was revving quite high. During the rest of the lap I extended the lead a bit, but not enough to break the slipstream. By the end of the straight in lap 2, Ash was right on my bumper again. That repeated itself in lap 2 and 3. When I made a mistake in lap 4, Ash was able to get the lead. Fighting my way back to Ash, I noticed we were catching onto a NSX. By the end of lap 6 I closed the gap and we were right on that NSX's tail. We both drafted by him and continued our race. The next lap was just like the start of the race. In lap 8 we caught up with a Mine's Skyline. I managed to draft past him, but Ash got stuck behind him for a few corners. I didn't see what happened exactly, but Ash lost a lot of time there and I extended my lead in the last two laps. After the race I asked Ash if he had any trouble with the Mine's Skyline, but he said that I deserved the win.

Thanks Ash for the race. Well driven 👍 Too bad we didn't get to battle it out until the end... Good luck to you in the next week! :)

Good write-up but I can add a little. When PASM ran wide after exiting the hairpin and got a penalty, I took the lead and was in front by a couple of seconds, PASM was closing the gap a little and then I came across the NSX, the NSX was slow coming out of the hairpin which caught me out a little, but I followed thinking I could pass him into dunlop, I was wrong as he blocked the inside and practically parked it in the corner,:ouch: PASM had suddenly caught right up. After we passed the NSX I was hanging onto PASMs slipstream once again hoping he would make a mistake again, that was until we caught the Mines, PASM passed him on the straight but the Mines dived for the inside into turn 1 he ran really wide though and PASM passed, I tried to follow but the Mines weaved back on right in front of me, knowing my only chance of beating PASM was hanging onto him I tried to pass the Mines quickly into 100r but we made a little contact :banghead: and I didn't get passed until he made a mistake at the final corner. That was the race over for me right there and to compound it I got an underserved penalty ( I had two wheels on the track ) for cutting dunlop on the last lap. :ouch: Well done again PASM, you deserved the win. 👍 I was only just hanging on to your draft at times.

Many congratulations to Dave. We had a real to-and-fro going there for a while until the intervention of the prat back-marker in the Clio. You thoroughly deserved the win though as I was on the limit all the time. Good luck in your next races 👍

GTP_Hyperspeed vs GTP_Manuelos

Winner: GTP_Hyperspeed

Hyper started in first place ..... and was still there at the finish line :sly:
We (mostly Hyper) had some difficulties with other racers (lap 1 & 2), after that I lost his slipstream and I then knew already I wouldn't have the speed to catch him

👍

I tried recording the race, will upload it asap:)

Thanks for the race mate, great to hear you recorded it. I look foward to watching that, although I bet it wont be as exciting as the Moto GP earlier. :)

With the Corvette I had more practice. With the 599 I had done around 15 laps prior to the race against Ash. I get more consistent when I'm used to the car/setup.

@ Ash: Thanks for the additional info. 👍

GTP_redbullfix vs: GTP_kartracer

Winner: GTP_redbullfix by a scant .5 secs

What an awesome battle with kartracer.

The lead exchanged nearly every lap, some draft passes, some late brake maneuvers, good fun.
Thanks for a great race kart.

It was a great race.I slipted up once and it took 2 laps to get back up. I need to fine tune this girl as it handled great but a little slow coming out of the turns.👍

GTP_Vaxen v GTP_DukeOfPendle

Dan (Vaxen) started on pole and led into turn 1. Racing was close with lead changing on the straight each lap. Neither of us managing to braek the tow.
On lap 4, I managed to pull a pass between turns 1 and 2.
At the hairpin I caught and passed a Clio. I saw in my mirror that Dan was having a lttle trouble getting clear of the Clio. This gave me the opportunity to break the tow.
For me the rest of the race was fairly uneventful, apart from having to deal with 2 or 3 Minis. I believe Dan caught them in the esses, which further delayed him.

Result: Win for GTP_DukeOfPendle.

Many thanks for a good race Dan, and thankyou for your patience, waiting for me to resolve game-loading problems.
Good luck with your forthcoming races.

Well done Phil, great victory. Comiserations to Vaxen, good luck to both of you in your remaining races

All the best
Maz

Nice Race Phil and Vaxen 👍 I was in there watching, after the sweep at the left. It looked like the mark(clio I guess) gave Vaxen a little trouble as Phil said. All in all a great race.

Congrats phi

GTP_Theewar (Winner) v GTP_LinPark

Theewar started in 1st and led the first 2 laps - I was fortunate enough to keep up and pass him to start lap 3 which was the only lap that I managed to lead at all - Theewar passed me to start lap 4 and was able to break the tow by the start of lap 5. I had some problems with 2 slower racers and suspect they also held up Theewar slightly. In the end, Theewar won by over 3 seconds. Congratulations!!!

Looking forward to the next phase - lots of pressures for those of us who have already felt our first loss and really need to win 2 more just for a chance to advance.

GTP_andrewyhy vs GTP_JvM (Winner)

We agreed to enter the race at :32 last night and there were only 2 other drivers with us. After the 30 seconds count down, I started off in P1 and took the lead. JvM was really fast and stayed at my tail all the way, so I pushed as hard as I could. There were a few overtakings on the main straight in the first few laps, by using each other's slipstream and we caught the other drivers on lap 4. Unfortunately, there was a BMW 1 series Tii Concept parked in the middle of 100R :ouch: and we both needed to avoid him. I passed the BMW from the outside and JvM passed him from the inside. I got my car touched a bit of the grass and nearly got spun out but luckily I saved my car in time and JvM was kind enough to slow down in front and let me to catch him up again at the 300R. ( Thanks mate. :D:tup: )

Then I tried to stay on his tail and the race went on till the 5th lap at 100R... I was silly enough to avoid that BMW AGAIN! I could have passed him from the inside by passing through his ghosted car but I don't know why at that very moment I chose to pass him from the outside again and this time I spun out. This is the fatal mistake that ruined my race. :indiff: And from then on, JvM continued leading the race till the end and I just couldn't get my normal pace and therefore losing by 14+ seconds (not quite sure about the gap between us at the end :dopey:).

Congratulations to JvM and he deserved the win. You're really fast mate! 👍

JvM is a true sportsman and a fast clean racer 👍

No shame in losing to him

He is very quick, i remember racing him before i joined GTPlanet and i couldnt beleive that he was not Div 1. He is another Div 1 driver in disguise

GTP_Hyperspeed VS GTP_Superwally

Winner: GTP_Hyperspeed

Our first race attempt was disconnected on lap 5 or so, good thing too as I had made a couple mistakes and had lost the draft.:sly:

We reconnected again with four or five others in the field. For the first few laps I followed Hyperspeed around, using the draft where necessary to stay in contact as small mistakes each lap were really beginning to add up. Around the middle of the race we began to encounter traffic, and poor negotiation on my part cost me a bit of time and set me back, however I was able to pull to his bumper as contact with traffic in the chicane was nearly catastrophic!

For the rest of the race, Hyperspeeds fast laps and consistent driving were too much for me to overcome, although with drafting help I was able to keep it close. Overall it was a great race! One of these days Dan.........:)

Whoo, I have 3 races to do in just under 2 weeks.:D Shouldn't be too hard right?;) Better contact everyone.

PS- Really glad the GT LM was excluded.

GTP_mad94d vs GTP_Manuelos

Winner: GTP_mad94d

GTP_mad94d started first. In the first 4 laps we changed positions a few times, but then I already felt mad94d was the faster one. Once I lost his draft I knew I wouldn't be able to catch up with him again. The gap grow, at the finish line I was already 9s behind.

👍

Yeah, In the first few laps we were fairly close. I was just trying to pull away. I was pushing quite hard. Then once I got about a 3 second gap I decided to just try to be as consistent as possible and try and not throw it off the road. Good Race though and good luck in your next race.👍

My second race of the night:

GTP_mad94d Vs GTP_TIZZLA
Winner: GTP_mad94d

After 30 minutes attempting to get into a race without punters or just to even get in a race together, we eventually got under way at 19:20(GMT +10).

I started from pole, but Tizz took the lead into Turn 1. We swapped for the lead many times. With Tizz leading through T1 and T2 and me passing him into the chicane each lap until lap 5. At Lap 5 I hung back and followed for a little while to try and break the pattern. Eventually on Lap 10, I led through T1 and T2. Tizz was too far behind to take a dive at the chicane. I tried to pull as much of a gap as possible through the final sector. I got a good run off the final corner and swooped to the inside of the track to try and delay a little bit of draft time. Tizz jumped into the draft, but couldn't quite get me in the end with the win going to myself.:D

Great race Tizzla, you were faster through T1 and T2 and I was about 0.3-0.5 faster through T3. It made for an interesting race with our two strengths and weaknesses. Bad luck, it was very close and it could've gone either way.

I'd like to thank Animera for coming out to watch as well. It was difficult for him to know who we were since both our tags turned out as 'OFFLINE[--]'

Well done Madison! Although I think it's fair to say you're roughly 0.5 sec faster than EVERYBODY through T3 in the 599

And well done to DanHyperKermitAudiSpeed for continuing to crush the opposition, looks like you and Madison going through from your group

All the best
Maz

The race between mad and Tizz was something else to watch. Both had red 599's, but I couldn't remember who had the lighter red, so I had no idea who was leading each lap as both appeared as 'OFFLINE'. Not that it mattered as they were so close! Great racing guys! 👍

Well done Madison. Also congratulations to the rest 👍

I have the darker red, and for a very bodgy reason too. I have the darker red because I have an SD TV, and the lighter red bleeds colour. So that's why I have the darker red.:P

Thanks Maz, Ian and PASM:cheers:

Yep, congrats mad!

I have no idea how you are so good through that 3rd sector!compared to everyone else i have raced there in the 599s, nothing could have prepared me for that

Congrats Mad, I completely forgot you 2 were racing tonight :dunce:, sorry I couldn't be there.:( Well done Tizz too for putting up a strong fight.👍

From a quick look it seems you have already tried to contact the right person, but he hasn't been on since you sent the last two messages. I think it might be a good idea to inform your race steward of this problem, you have done all you can really, unless someone has any other way of contacting him, have you tried a PSN message, it has to be worth a go. I hope you can get it sorted out.
