No offense, but Z28 is hardly an original name, so it's not surprising someone else nabbed it. Not all members have a GTP_ name which matches their forum name, so you'll just have to think of another one. If you are dead set on GTP_Z28, you could try a variation like GTP__Z28, GTP_Z_28, or even GTP_z28.

Although it might be best to pick another to avoid confusion.
 
Well, isn't it supposed to be your name with GTP in front of it? I think it's weird this person would GTP_Z28 their name, when obviously it was't on PSN. But, i guess your right, it's common someone would do it.

The thing is, people know my name Z28. So, i really don't want to change it. Does it have to be GTP? Or, can i make it GT5P or something?

Isn't it the other way around? You came second, how did he take your name? Hacked your PSN account? :P

You could go with GTP_Z28_DA_SECOND. :sly:

It has to be GTP_<name>.

Although this issue does bring up a valid point: Sphinx, would it be possible to list the forum name for members who's GTP_ name don't match their forum name? That would make it easier to contact them via PM to resolve issues and such.
 
No, you can't. You should read the "Official GTP PSN Registry" thread. If you did and still ask this question, may I point to you what it says about that:

Required PSN Name Tag Format

All registered PSN ID's must follow the required format:

GTP_YourName.

For example, my registered PSN ID is 'GTP_Sphinx'.

There is no requirement for you to use your registered GTP username within the GTP PSN ID.

As you can see, my registered GTP username is not my username with GTP_ before it.

My advice to you is that you create a GTP PSN ID that is visually different from GTP_Z28. I suggest something like GTP_Z*2*8

This way, when anyone meets you online, they'll know you're not GTP_Z28. And vice versa.
 
Sigh, alright i'll figure it out. My PSN name and name on this forum is Z28. So, it just stinks i have to make it different.

I'll figure something out with Z28. I bet that GTP_Z28 guy doesn't even play...lol

It makes more sense that a person who has Z28 as their psn and name on gtplanet would be GTP_Z28. This person probably raced me online and now made the name...

I have console number 267 out of all of them built and created my name the 3rd day. I think I'm the first Z28, just not with a GTP in front of it. :sly:

Spend hours looking through the forum, for the solve of "How to change your name" on a downloaded version of GT5p.. IS there any solutions ? besides to buy a hardBoxed version, then It will be the third copy of GT5 i have bought, and only because of Lazy support and technical miss mass.. Come on Sony!!

I joined late to this site, so i didn't know about this GTP registry. I want to be a part of this though. For instance, i want people to know i'm going to place serious and not be some crazy player that hits everyone.

I don't want to make another name, because i have all the cars and have gotten gold in all the S class events. So, how can i be a part of this? Is it just not possible?

I had some good races with GTP_Div and GTP_SimcoeAce. I enjoyed playing with them and it was back and forth.

I really wish i had the GTP name, but i don't have enough time to make an account and play everything again...

Yeah: we had some good races.

You can copy your saved game data to a new user account (even I managed to do it, with a little technical help :dunce:).

People will identify by your new name soon enough...

I'm afraid a hard copy of the game is your only option if you want to change to a different PSN ID and still play the game. For those GTP members who have this problem I do add their current PSN ID to the registry (if accepted) but I have have yet to add them to the list in the registry thread, but I will add them soon.

If you want your current PSN ID added to the registry, then just follow the normal registry procedure and just add a note to the PM to highlight that you are using a downloaded version of the game. 👍

Alright, i'm trying to do it now.

I'm in the process of making my new account and i'm thinking about making my name GTP_Z28_

To me, it's not confusing compared to the other guy, because clearly you can see the _ after the Z28. So, i would think people would see that difference easily.

What do you think? I'm about to hit submit, but i want to wait on a few responses.

I'll go one better than that. I try to reg P3nT4gR4m on PSN and it's already taken :eek: So I have to settle for P3nT4gR4m666. Luckily he doesn't post here so GTP_P3nT4gR4m is all mine :)

Q.. It's funny, I haven seen any GTP_ online yet, and i've been driving on the last 5 night's, driving F1 on Fuji and a few other races, But from 10pm CET to 4Am

And No! GTP_XXX(ASx) (<-- Nasty name for a driver, hopefuly female Oups Damn!! hehe)..

Ok I'm from Denmark, but is there so many servers running world wide.. that we will be split up like that, are we gonna be able to choose, which World area we would like to compete in..? as you might have guest, i'm a Night person, hehe, so my time match´s the US and Asia time, which i like alot, so should i be with out this possibility, just because i'm a Dane..

Nahh !! World wide online networking is the key to maximum Fun, specially with this Game Item, and Console player for that matter..

damn I just created an account ...etc and sent a PM , and came into this thread to read that you can't use GT:P in another account downloaded version , oh well guess good I registered anyway for when GT5 comes out lol

I have lots of relatives in dubai, I know its not Saudi but its the middle east ;). I go there around 1 - 2 times a year 👍. Really hot, but i like it:sly:

What's that "(Div:_)" at the end of each name on the GTP team thread? It's only applied to the first post ones, maybe because it's still on work.. don't know.
 
It's (I hope to be right) to allow on a later point state which Division (rank) everyone is racing in, when we have the weekly time trials.
People will be divided in several divisions, regarding their achieved results on the past weeks. You can then be promoted/demoted, etc.
