Good point mate.

Maybe we could add the credit card details to both accounts?

I hope that one day GT give us the possibility to put a nickname on the car so all we could use the unique master account on PS3 but with the GTP thing painted on any part of the car. That would be great.

Ma' Bad :dopey:
I've made a sub-account & relate all my credit card info
No prob. now :)

Hi all.

EDIT:

hi Sphinx, i tried to send you a request for my GTP_ account but i don't have the PM option!!! :(

Any ideas????

You have to wait a certain amount of time before you can send a PM.

Hello all,

I would like to register for a GTP name. GTP_muytravieso (USA).

Hi muytravieso,
Please go here to register:

https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=105367

I have a number of drivers waiting to be accepted into the registry. I'm afraid I'm very busy for the next few days, but will try to process all applicants by no later than Monday 4th Aug.

Sorry for any inconvenience that this may cause.

Just sent mine in. Also had a good clean race against GTP_recx (apologies if I have mispelt) with him just edging me on Daytona Oval Expert.

Sent my PM the other day, just waiting to hear back.

Had a good game with GTP_Strittan, though i must apologise for accidently rammng you at one point. :(

As of today (08/08/08), no requests for entry into the GTP_Registry will be processed until a qualifying time has been submitted.:

I sent my PM to get on the GTP_Registry yesterday so does this mean i have to submit a time before i can get on the GTP_Registry?

Cheers.

No. You sent in your request yesterday 07/08/08. You therefore have until Sept 26th 08 (if accepted ;) )

Edit: I will be processing all outstanding requests tonight.

Sphinx, I have no questions about what's written in the "Official GTP_PSN Registry Qualifier Race", concerning the qualifier race iself.

However, and maybe this is a stupid question, but what does this mean?

The aim of this qualifier is to create the long awaited divisions within the GTP_Registry

What are these divisions for? I understand people will be split acording to skill, but what happens then? As an example, I'm sure you'll be placed in the "best of the best" division. AND, I'm also sure I won't be placed there. So, does that mean we won't ever meet in a official GTP race, championship, tournament???

If this is answered elsewhere, sorry for the dumb question, just point me the link, please.

Sphinx, just read the "Official GTP_PSN Registry Qualifier Race", thread and offcourse will participate...👍👍
have one question though, why did you pick the eiger track??
wouldn't it be more of a challenge to pick suzuka??...:)
i meen,it would make an even clearer view of who's fast or not, beceause the suzuka track is more technical and demanding.....

It is hoped that all drivers will meet on the track as much as possible, but there will be events whereby drivers will be able to compete against others drivers that are deemed to be of equal driving ability, and thus making the event more designed to cater for the needs of all, and not just the aliens of this game.

There will also be promotions and demotions within the divisions as and when drivers improve or find themselves in a too higher division than they should be.

This qualifier is based strongly on the WRS qualifier. Follow this link to see how the WRS functions to understand where I'm coming from:

Also, will GTP_Registry members be able to change divisions after the deadline? What I mean is, will the best-performing drivers in a division move up to a higher tier while the worst performers will drop a tier? Or will drivers remain in the same group indefinitely?

The problem I had was the important point of keeping the qualifying lap times secret. Suzuka was my original choice, but due to low numbers of time trial entries on the database it would've revealed the top lap times for this qualifier. I am almost certain that the top times for this qualifier will not show up on the online databse. I of course could've waited another week or so, but that would cut into a busy period for me.

If the fall update comes sooner than the deadline, you could have a problem there (I guess all leaderboards will be erased, and it could happen just a few days before deadline, when I guess most of the times will be submitted). But I guess there's no way around it.

Thanks for your previous reply. Got it. 👍

EDIT: Thinking about this, if the fall update comes sooner than the deadline AND if this update also tweaks physics, tyre grip, whatever, you'll have an even bigger problem ...

Yes, I'm aware of the looming update. I will of course keep an eye on any new developments regarding this, and if I need to change the deadline I will do so.

I will of course keep everyone informed. 👍

EDIT:
I also have a backup plan to help ensure early submissions if need be. :)

Are the divisions separated by some time limits or will the div 1 & 2 have a certain amount of drivers and div 3 the rest?

Time limits. No division will be equal in numbers, unless it works out that way of course.

Interesting choice of car/track. I'm glad to see it on N tires, though I realize why it is one them due to online rankings.

I for one would like to see much more OLR racing on N and S tires. R tires get a bit old after while and unrealistic as far as times.

Though, as of right now, those of us who have been slogging it out on the 600PP Eiger TT and those who did the GT Academy challenge have a huge leg up on other drivers as we know this circuit intimately at this point. Yes the car is much different than either challenge was, but we know the line around the circuit. This will even out over the next month of course and I get why Suzuka couldn't be picked for this but right now its going to be tough for lay drivers to get anywhere near some drivers, not even the top drivers we all know.

Question... When the WRS eventually moves to GT5, whenever that maybe (2011?), will our division pre-qualify us for that? Or will there be a qualifier for that? Or has that not been considered? I expect by the time that happens the fast GTP GT5p/GT5 drivers will be very well known. We all remember who was fast in GT2/3/4 and some still area over all versions.

Hey, I'll have a go at the race thingy, though to save blushes, you might as well just put me in the bottom division to start with!

You and me both :nervous: I didnt do GT Academy and I dont know this track's line very well so I dont see myself doing very well at all. Ah well, I suppose I better get practicing for the next month.

Sent my PM and now I wait to see what the competition looks like..:)

This is great and Sphinx, Thanks so much for taking care of this and your doing a great job. .👍👍

Is the time trial thing to KEEP your GTP_ tag or.. just something GTPers can do?

This "thing" is to keep your GTP_Tag on the GTP_Registry that will entitle you to take part in all future official GTP events. Without it you won't be able to take part.

The divisions that we are about to create will also be the divisions for the GT5 WRS. I believe it'll be a waste of time and energy trying to maintain two sets of divisions that will ultimately be the same anyway.

If your time is the only submission, then you'll be in Div 1. 👍 :sly:

So just to dubbel check this Sphinx ,one is only allowed to send you ONE pm with your best time yes??...
so even after you've send your time in and improve afterwards before the end of this qualifier race, you are NOT allowed to send in your improvements??

just want to be 100% sure this is the deal...👍👍

That's right. Only one submission per driver. Once you submit, that's it. Unless you make an error with the settings etc, then I'll ask you to run it again.
