I would like to say congrats to Timpaaq, that is an amazing time and you deserve to be on the pole. I could have improved my time a little if I gave it some more effort, but I can confidently say that I still would not have been able to touch his.

In fact, Timpaaq's time should probably be first on the top 100 leaderboard as far as I am concerned. It seems all the other times somehow begin the lap at a too fast to be possible speed, maybe because they are from spec 1?

And also of course, thanks to Sphinx for the hard work. I don't get much playing time (applying to grad school at the same time), but the time I do these challenges/stages are definitely making it interesting. Can't wait for the next stage, so I can see how many divisions I drop down:dopey:.

Not possible, all Spec I times have been erased at the time of the update.
Same with the Aug 1st update.

It's all based on times submitted. the golds in division 1 are easy to work out why they are gold, just look at the online leader board. As for division 3, there were so many submitted times that were very close together it would've been wrong to have split them up because they all qualified within a certain time frame.

Yes I did look at the leaderboard, obviously, or I'd have no grounds for comment. Time is continuous, non-discrete, therefore it makes less sense to split the divisions based on actual time alone. I think there has to be some parity in the size of each division.
As an example there appears to be a difference of 'hundredths' of a second between Div 1 silver and bronze.( and 2 tenths between gold and silver). So it seems that a discrete time was the cutoff between the divisions and colours.
What I'm saying is, I think that, for example, Div 1 silver, has a good chance of running with a lot of the gold drivers, and it seems a shame to have such a bare minimum of drivers in these classes.
Once again, I'm not complaining. Just putting forward my views. Call it constructive criticism if you will.
In some ways I'm happy the colours of Div 1 have so few drivers, at least it kept me out of the upper echelon!
But if there was a 50% turnout for a race in my division colour.. there would only be 5 or six drivers.

Some guys other then our little competition, they use G25 and clutch, some say you can switch gears faster and have better acceleration speed, thats why you notice non GTP members to be very fast there..

they begin the laps at such a good speed because they are faster drivers and carry a much better speed exiting casio on the previous lap.
its hard to argue with lap times!

Yes, this seems to be the case. And now that I compare replays again, the beginning speed difference doesn't seem to be there. So, I guess I was imagining things...

If this is indeed the reason, that is pretty impressive to be shifting that fast with the clutch even after the summer update.

Well, I will definitely agree that they are faster/better drivers then me!

i use a G25 too, but not the clutch, paddles for me. I've used the fastest ghost lap as comparison, and on a 'very' good lap I can lead the #1 ghost through to the end of the esses, but then i start losing time. So, its fair to say that a clutch is not the reason these guys are quicker, they are just faster, better drivers.

I see, I thought you can still use clutch to be little faster... Besides yeah you could not use clutch in the GTP competition

with a minor exception or two perhaps!!

And what do you mean by that?

Apparently clutch is a little faster (certainly not for me though).. so maybe i should say clutch can not be the ONLY reason the quicker guys are quicker.

I'm in Div 1 too.. thats what I meant by that! I may well be the exception!!

well the way i look at the divisions...is like a sandwich and the best bits are always...always in the middle:)

Well I've ended up in Div 4 gold, which I am pleased about considering how I can not stand the F430. Hopefully it'll be some time before I have to get that out of the garage again ;)

rippingsilk, if this works anything like the WRS, the gold/silver/bronze format within divisions is more a way of listing results than organizing future events. Each week the results would be posted and medals awarded within divisions. Regarding the numbers of individuals in each division, isn't it somewhat a bell curve distribution, with a large number of people falling in the average range, thus the large D3?

Also, I don't remember looking much at the GT4WRS qualifier leaderboard very often after initially finding out where I placed. The weekly races themselves will define who your competitors are, the qualifier is a backbone and a place to start on equal footing.

Flash, fun racing tonight!

I for one actually prefer this qualifier to the original combo you had us test Jerry, this one was a better measure of balance with more consequences if you punish the car too much. I would have loved to get another .5 but the SFGTP and NWGT Meetings mean I need to keep in practice in GT4 just a little longer :) I did what I set out to do, be in Div. 1 :sly: See you guys on the track and hope the fall update gets done right even if we have to wait until New Years. And big congrats Timo, way to ROLL to the top!

Your in the registry so you must've been added. 👍

You're a peach. 👍

I was expecting Div 5, since I was only able to put in 6 or 7 total laps of the track to get my time. Not to worry though. I'll be clawing my way up pretty fast, me thinks.

;)

Division 4 Gold.I'm happy with that as I took a look at the car and track and desided to go for a lap time that I could run all day.Ran at a comfortable pace. Didn't go for that magic lap.:)

Those in the higher divisions....congrats. This is a really unruly car when you're in "cram mode".

My only regret is not signing up for the GTP_registry much sooner.
