Not my best T1 - I have seen a 26.3xx last night, a couple of times, so I know that I can still improve on that one.

Edit: 5 minutes later and I get the best T1 ever:

3 tenths faster over the line as well. Don't know where that came from.

Just looked at the leaderboard and I have the best sector 1 in Div 3. :crazy:

And it looks like I may be able to catch Mamba on this one, but we'll see. I doubt if I can improve much more than I already have in sector 1. :lol:

You're 0.5 of a second slower than the leader = you can definitely improve :)

:sly: Thanks. It's a .777 between me and Chris. Usually I'm a couple seconds behind.

This one is extremely tight across the whole board. Every tenth or two I improve by I shoot up a few spots.

Also, I haven't been able to copy yours or Vagabond's gear ratios, I don't have a clue what I'm doing when it comes to tuning, massive noob.

EDIT: I take it I done the oil swap too early so I'm missing out on 2hp, any chance anyone can share theirs? It would be much appreciated!

Try changing rims. They have an effect on gear ratios. Also, double check to make sure you have all upgrades allowed. Doesn't matter if you done oil change early, just run the remaing amount of miles then change the oil again, you should be good then.

Some people do the trans flip which will get you a different gear range. There are a few different methods in setting up your trans.

Grabbed this from one of Chris' older posts:

I just assumed everyone knows how I set my gears now. :guilty: Here's the how:

1. Set Max Speed to minimum
2. Set individual ratios
3. Set Final

Sometimes setting Max Speed to minimum won't allow you to reach the correct top speed even after bringing the Final gear all the way down, so I try the next higher Max Speed setting and then do the same with the other ratios.

NOTE: Reset tranny to default first of course.

PS> if you put custom rims and the tuner doesn't (or visa versa) it's also possible you may not be able to match ratios.

PPS> No, I'm not Chris' Secretary, but I did stay in a Holiday Inn Express last night. :sly:

Still yet to figure out sector 1, quite frustrating one, I've hit the wall coming out of corner two so many times, one of these days Ill get it just right :) Lost almost two tenths in the middle sector so still some time to find there, still using Chris' tune and my own gears, changed brakes to 3/6 and LSD Accel to 28 I found it turns the car better :)
 
For Chris gears set just like Tim (WRP) shows, no need to change rims. For eclipsi's first set final gear to 4500 then Top Speed to Minimum then set the ratios, hope this helps :)
 
Just out of curiosity I've done all necessary upgrades as mentioned but I'm only at 257? The first post says 258? Would custom rims explain a 1 hp difference?
 
Thanks for that Mamba, I have just tried eclipsi's and straight away I have taken a tenth out of my time, just the tiniest bit dirty though :(

And Tidgney I think I was at 257hp as well, but I think another screen it might have said 258? Can't remember exactly!

I've got no idea what is going on today. Might be because I'm tired. I've been doing 26.2xx in the first sector every lap yesterday and today I've only managed to get below 26.5 once :( Maybe it's because of eclipses setup. But luckily I've managed to get 0.3 in the second sector. Could do at least another 0.3 in sector 2 but I just can't get Sector 1 correct today.

Edit: Looks like old oil was my problem. Was running at 260bhp instead of 265 :)
 
Starting to see some pace, managed to get a 21.3xx in the 2nd sector 1 lap! Also hit a low .8 in the first sector so it's just threading it all together now....

AFAIK, the standard break in for any car are 300 kms, then make an oil change and you'll have full power.
Use your B-spec Bob for the dirty job, quickest way is 75 laps at B-spec / Endurance Series / Indy 500, once he has done those 75 laps you quit the race.

I don't remember what was the origin of the final gear, but if you've problems matching the ratios and you know what upgraded parts the other user is using, you can find those ratios by trial-error method.

Follow this procedure as SirAlanClive said, this method works well if the other user has set the 1st gear as long as possible (as left side as possible), or if he has set the highest gear (6th in this case) as short as possible (as right side as possible).

1.- Reset to default

2.- Set Max Speed to (user info)

3.- Click on 1st gear menu button to set the ratio, there you'll see the lowest and highest values of the 1st gear, look for the lowest value, if the ratio doesn't match, set the Final Gear to another value (higher or lower) and reset (move right and left one click) the Max Speed again to (user info)

(info) the more value in the Final Gear the less value in the 1st gear and viceversa

4.- Repeat until you match the 1st gear lowest ratio

5.- Set the other gear ratios

6.- Set the Final Gear to (user info)

If you can't match the gear ratios, probably the other user is using custom rims or other engine upgrades.

This can be a bit confusing (I explain myself awfully :scared: ) but once you get the procedure, it's easy and this only requires a bit of time.

Custom rims does not increase power.


BTW, look at your BHP often, this car burns oil quickly. :scared:

Getting regular .4s in sector 2 now... need this sector 1, a .4 in sector 2 and that tricky tenth in sector 3 and I'm done.
 
Not sure whats going on with me today but here's the thing. After about a half hour of running today, my car deceloped some very quirky handling charactoristics. As the afternoon progressed, it got worse and worse to the oint of almost undrivable. It was great last night when I parked it, but today it turned to absolute crap. Ttried different set-ups and nothing. I've been changing the oil and even did the chasis maintenence. The car was brand new when I started, it now has 3,854 miles on it. It even seems a little boggy too. Still comes up with max HP after oil change. Even did the engine overhaul. Its just turned into a complete piece of crap. At any rate, I got bob breaking me in another one so we'll she what happens tomorrow. Has anyone had this happen to them?
 
Not something I've ever experienced Mitch. Have you tested any other cars to see if the problem is specific to the Civic or possibly a wheel issue?

Bad t1, but the rest of the lap will be hard to beat. I had a faster lap with the exact same t1, but I was outside the white line in the tunnel, without touching the wall. Looking for a tenth yet.
