I'm braking at about 150m or just under, down to third, over the curb on the inside and then get on the power once the car has stabilised. It's such a short sector though I'm not sure it's worth woirrying about at this stage.

Is it my imagination, or do the walls move towards you on the corner exit? Did a 58.3 a couple of times but always found the wall somewhere :ouch:

I had a good 1st session of 150 miles, now at 531 hp.
Fun combo, Kevin. 👍

13.685
39.868

Oil change netted 11 more hp, so 542 now.

Just reached full HP (545 right?) and set a new best right after. Not a huge difference at T2 but nearly a second better at the line despite chickening out bigtime at the final hairpin. :)

Sweet consistent lap. Bit of a banker! 4 tenths up at the line.

Sector 1 is 90% luck. I've seen everywhere from 13.5 to 13.9 on any given try. Probably 13.4 is about perfect I'd guess.

Glad I'm not the only one who is finding that out. It's been hard for me to stay under .7 consistently, I'm usually .70x with the random .85x for reasons I don't understand. But the R1's (I think?) make it so I can't accelerate on the rumbles which is aggrevating and I've hit that wall on the left as I exit turn 1 too many times :dunce:

Thanks Dan - its going to be a fun week.

For T1, just braking accurately and smoothly to keep a tight apex is getting me regular 13.6's and .5's. Trail brake in then straight back on the throttle. :)

Done a bit of tweaking but not what you'd call a finished setup yet.

Standard LSD

Aero 40/63

Ride height 0/-7

Springs 14.2/14.4

Camber 2.0/1.0

Toe 0.0/0.25

Transmission 194mph Max, standard ratios

Brakes 6/5

Works ok as long as you thrash it mercilessly. :) Settle in for a long night of barrier collisions.

Small improvement but still finding the best way to enter the long right hander... lots of time to be lost or gained there.

Nice splits Chris - that corner has added difficulty as it seems the radius changes at least twice...

Thanks Jon. T2 seems to be won or lost for me on my entry to that long bend. Slide wide and its gone... I'm braking from far left and trailing it in, wide entry bringing it smoothly into the rumbles (not using rumbles though) then progressively accelerating, getting to full throttle about 2/3 of the way round.

 Here's to hoping tonight's GT5 update doesn't throw wrenches into our WRS like in Week 1 in the Camaro!

Also, since we are tuning this week, is anyone going to try the extremes in ride height and springs/shocks that we used on the Civic RM? I see Chris already has his nose slightly higher than his rear. :D

Don't jinx us. :ouch:

Seriously, I should be on when it happens tonight, so will see how it might impact us. Hopefully if it does, it's only for the better.

Agree with this, surely this update has to have something exciting, leaderboards would be nice but wishful thinking.

Having said that the prologue servers are to be turned off this month so who knows.

Would leaderboards benefit the WRS Kev, or would we still have to use the same system we use now for uploading times ? I take it that it would be the latter as it would be near on impossible to find our times on the leaderboards.

Not only that but it would ruin the suspense when waiting for the results thread, which in my opinion is great. I'm sure i am not the only one eager to see where I ended up or if I snatched a podium :sly:

What you are describing Chris is what I aim to achieve each lap, but rarely do  on my best T2 I am braking lightly before the 50m board and dropping to fourth and as you say, trailing it in from wide. I try not to get near the rumbles until the corner radius tightens. Get the line right and you can get on the power hard quite early with the right set-up. I'll post mine tonight when I get home from work just to add into the mix - haven't tried anyone elses yet.

PS. the above is under the complete understanding that I am not offering you advice (just having a discussion), as that would be plain daft

PPS. One problem I am having is through the fast part of T3 and focussing on where I am supposed to be going. I only get to run from 11pm onwards and tired eyes and fast cars around this track don't seem to mix well

The suspense is fun, although I'm a way off troubling the podium in my division :sly:

Hey you can offer me advice any time matey :) I may be quicker sometimes but that doesn't mean I know what I'm doing for half of it. :P

Last run for tonight. Car now at full power, using the same setup.

Fantastic fun. R246 must be my favourite street circuit... I can almost forget the barriers are there on a good lap. 👍

Lots of time still left out on the track...fun combo!

T1: 13.817
T2: 40.725

Edit: Double post?! WTF? Where is everyone ?

I must have ran 50 13.6's and 13.5's in a row tonight, very nice. Had probably 10 13.5's in a row, gotta love it.

13.533
39.391

Still see at least .3 in T2, about .015 in T1
Absolutely no clue what's left in the finish, when I think it's good, I lose to my ghost, when I'm worried sick I blew it, I tie it. First time since I joined the final sector is the longest. :scared:
Still using pretty much the same tune. :dunce: Don't know what to do, differently, Vagabond's tune is what I modified from... I think most of it's placebo and car handling, but not actual grip.

I'm at work, UK are in bed, US are waiting for the update?
Nope :) Well, yes, desperately. :scared:

EDIT: What the hell got into A7XMaverick? I could be wrong, but that looks suspiciously like an alien time there. :odd:

Interesting addition from the change log for the latest update that may benefit/affect this week...

"In [Weight Adjustment] of [Settings], players can now see changes in the front to rear weight balance when the ballast position is changed."

and...

"PDI has addressed the issue of the maximum speed set in the transmission settings of the settings menu differing from the actual top speed of the car. This will affect cars equipped with the relevant transmission tuning part, and almost all racing cars"

We're early enough in the week that everyone should be able to use any advantage that might be gained from these updates.

On the transmission, it said that full customizable purchased and adjusted before 1.07 would not be affected, but I'm not sure if I understood that part completely. It might just be that they mean the top speeds in the 2 "boxes" will match one another now.

I took that to mean if you bought a car and/or adjustable trans before 1.07 then the settings for that car won't change (did adjustable individual ratios come in then or something?), and that, yes, the boxes will now match each other and the cars top speed on track as well.

Assuming the update has been released in Australia, I'll find out for myself tonight...
