Update done, reserving judgement until I find out what these suits and helmets look like. :dunce: My saved-game size jumped from 1MB to 1.5MB though.

On topic: Using Chris' tune, I got some good laps (thanks!). Finally realized the driving line (sorry!) is lying to me, and I really don't need to brake on the S-turn in T2.
Just a quick throttle-lift.

We're early enough in the week that everyone should be able to use any advantage that might be gained from these updates.

On the transmission, it said that full customizable purchased and adjusted before 1.07 would not be affected, but I'm not sure if I understood that part completely. It might just be that they mean the top speeds in the 2 "boxes" will match one another now.
No, they do not always match. An example would be for the Subaru event, I ended up with top speed set to 180, and it shows the cars actual top speed in the upper right, as 184. I haven't actually tested it, but I believe the top right number will now actually be correct. :)

New special event nets 6 suits, helmets, 3 million cash, about 6-700K XP, and a level 21, 22, 23 car gift cards, for first place in all. :):):)

I don't think there's any benefits for this week's combo, unless one really wants to add weight though, might help some with gearing though.
But for those interested, 6th gear with stock 4.062 final drive should be .882, as it's perfect. :)

Love the update. Especially after everything that's happened over there in the past months.

Finally realized the driving line (sorry!) is lying to me, and I really don't need to brake on the S-turn in T2.
I find a light tap helps me get on the throttle sooner exiting, either way I haven't seen a big difference there, just don't touch the inside rumble!:scared:

Thanks Dan - its going to be a fun week.

For T1, just braking accurately and smoothly to keep a tight apex is getting me regular 13.6's and .5's. Trail brake in then straight back on the throttle. :)

Done a bit of tweaking but not what you'd call a finished setup yet.

Standard LSD

Aero 40/63

Ride height 0/-7

Springs 14.2/14.4

Camber 2.0/1.0

Toe 0.0/0.25

Transmission 194mph Max, standard ratios

Brakes 6/5

:bowdown::bowdown::bowdown:

Just ran 7 laps with this set up, apart from the first 2 every lap got quicker. Granted, they were all dirty. But then on the 7th, it was my fastest and it was clean 👍

.x43 slower in T1 but a faster T2.

13.842
40.779

Lost some on T2 but gained on T1 and T3.

T1: 13.880
T2: 41.110

Chris, gonna give your setup a try!! Thanks!!

Saw a .519 in T1 and a .660 in T2 on a previous run, but there was the slightest of touches coming out of the left after the long right in T2. The above splits are .09 slower to T2 but only .01 slower at the line. Have run a T3 .25 quicker so will be looking to string it all together at some point. For now though I'm off to bed as the kids will be up in 5.5hrs

Nice one Jon!

I started getting 53.2s last night but didn't quite pull it round in sector 3. The key to my lap almost every time seems to be the left-right at the start of T2 - finding that REALLY hard, tend to downshift into 3rd for braking and then up to 4th to smoothly accelerate while turning right - it's sometimes difficult here to not start a slight drift.

I've taken that fast right/left just before the end of T2 several times without braking, just lifting/turning - managed to whip through there at almost 140mph, you gotta take a very aggressive and tight line though. Getting it right and not stuffing the braking point for the next turn (see below) is tricky though when you start nailing it.

The end of the lap is truly difficult and terrifying when you're going fast. Probably the hardest corner on the track is the uphill/blind right hander at the start of T3 - I find that and the next right really hard to not slow too much, the line has to be perfect or you just lose what seems like months of time. I think you HAVE to run wide here to get the angle for the next turn, but if you hit the curb you'll smack the wall and by running wide you're risking the wall anyway, it's very tough.

Splits are really going to be less indicative than ever this week with that super long last sector. Should be good for the surprise aspect :)

Hoping to run a ton of laps tonight using the setup that I've come up with and Chris's as well.

Setting a goal of a 53.1xx at T2 split along with a fearless T3 where I a.) dont crash and b.) ignore the walls and CHARGE!

👍

Question for EDK: I "accidentally" bought a stage 3 turbo for my NSX while marveling at the new cart icon in the tuning menus, then panicked when I couldn't figure out how to unequip it. Had to leave the menu and come back in, then had the option in Turbo to "Reset to default". I verified that I no longer see the turbo meter in the HUD now.

Is that good enough, or do I need to start over with another car?

As long as it's not on for your submission your fine. We would see the boost guage, not to mention the extra speed. 👍

As long as it doesn't show up on the HUD, you are fine. And as mentioned, I think stage 3 turbo might show up in straight line speed. ;)

Crazy thing about those new cart icons is they still are not quite as useful as I would like them to be. You still have to go into GT Auto for the weight reduction and Stage 1-3 Engine Upgrades.

Overall, I think it was a nice update and I'm happy with it, but just though as long as they went that far, it might have been nice for them to include those upgrades in there as well.

You noticed that too? It is a little silly, I guess we could view it as "being able to buy all parts that can return to stock"? Aero upgrades too.

Similar sectors as my previous but much better at the line!

T1: 13.540
T2: 39.251

T1: 14.163
T2: 41.273

Blarg. Dropped almost a second at the line but not my best, just the best clean. :D I can pretty regularly get a 13.8-9 in T1 but at the first corner of T2 I keep tapping the wall or just outright stuffing it. Probably have a good couple seconds down if I can clean up that spot.

Update... hmmm. I can't recall any suggestions to the effect that our (pointless) B-spec drivers needed more outfits. We're not playing the Sims.... :sly:

Anyway, changed ride height to -9/-9, LSD to 10/42/12, Toe to 0/0.2

Not seeing an extra 0.3 in T2 yet... possibly a 39.1xx at some point.

13.519
39.285

Should be able to get T1 into the 13.4s but T2 is tricky to stay at the limit without barrier encounters.

I don't think you have the turbo installed, I think you've put rockets on it.

RED FLAG!

 WTF 👎 In cases like this it has to be all or nothing because you know everyone online has their car completely 'tricked out'.

I said "nice" and I was not referring to that part of it. ;)

These bits are useful, IMO -

  • The added prizes for online events (Added cash)
  • The half price, zero mile cars in the Online Dealer. I had all but 2 of the cars that popped up in there, but I'm seriously considering using more of my hard earned credits to get some extra zero mile cars.
  • Aforementioned parts purchases in tuning screen
  • Sort Garage by Last Car Driven
  • Weight Balance Shown in Ballast Screen (More About knowing the stock weight distro than adding ballast).
Anyway, back to the topic at hand...............

Tried your original setup earlier on and it was a lot better than what I tuned myself! 👍 Managed a 13.4 in the first sector with it as well, but it was a one-off. I'll give the new settings a go sometime in the next few days, hopefully can put a decent lap down! :)

Oh, yeah, where did you put the turbo? Splits are :ill:!!!

Couldn't make the previous LSD settings work for me :indiff: but these look better w/your tweaking :).

Thanks Matt - was gutted I blew the 53.17X but then ran that lap so it wasn't too bad afterall!! I'm not shifting down to third for that first left in T2. I'm finding it more consistent for me if I stay in 4th.

I know what you mean about that double right in T3  I'm finding I need to brake early for the first one otherwise it all goes wrong over the crest. For the second one I turn in with a little lift at the second zebra crossing...

Will post my set-up later for anyone that's interested. It's enabled me to run a .519 in T1 and a .660 in T2 so it can't be too bad, but maybe I'm just used to it

Tried your original setup earlier on...

Cheers Spud - still tweaking it myself so let me know if you discover anything better. :)

Its one of those Japanese micro-turbos Dan - just pop one in the airbox and off you go. 👍

Further tweaking to setup - feels a bit more stable for turn in and I can get on the power a bit earlier (feels better to me anyway... :dunce:)

Ride height -7/-7

Camber 1.6/0.7
Toe 0.0/0.16

LSD 10/42/18

Aero 40/61

Done a couple of 13.4xx T1s and regular 39.2xx T2s with this... and one 39.1xx so far. Starting to see the possibilty of a 39.0 but 38.9 is bit of a stretch. Still 5 days left yet though....

A 53.1 is a good target at this point Jon and Matt - nice one guys 👍 Interested to see your setup Jon. I am using 3rd for turning in to the first left hander in sector 2 - full throttle through the apex and into 4th for the right hander. Using no curbs at all through the whole lap - they just throw the car off balance.

I'm wondering when an alien is going to turn up and show us how slow we're going.... 💡

It seems I can't get this car any faster round the turns
I'm gonna give your setup a try tomorrow. Hope it works for me :scared:

Chris, Matt and anyone else, here's my setup that I'm running at the moment. As I've said elsewhere, I haven't looked at or run any other set-ups yet, but this is deliering for me and allowing me (at present at least) to out perform my usual position in the division. It's run a 53.179 to T2 split with just the slightest of wall touches (only visible in data logger) and I can regularly run .6's in T1. Would be interested to see what it could do in the hands of someone better :)

Brake bias 7/6 with ABS at 2
LSD is 10/20/6
Gear ratios are shown below but I think all I did was drop Max speed to 310kmh (193mph in old money).

Apologies for the poor quality phone images, was doing it in a hurry this morning whilst trying to get ready for work

EDIT: Downforce - max at the front and I was running 62 at the back but now up to 65.

No worries Jon - still readable 👍 I'll give it a whirl to kick off tomorrow's session; I'm done for now. Seeing some good sectors tonight but not sewing them together... Cheers for posting that before work anyway mate

@Speedy - well modulated trail baking and early throttle are the key with this car. Keep it tight in to apexes without touching the curbs and full throttle out 👍
