New splits

13.516
39.177

Chris, Matt and anyone else, here's my setup that I'm running at the moment. As I've said elsewhere, I haven't looked at or run any other set-ups yet, but this is deliering for me and allowing me (at present at least) to out perform my usual position in the division. It's run a 51.179 to T2 split with just the slightest of wall touches (only visible in data logger) and I can regularly run .6's in T1. Would be interested to see what it could do in the hands of someone better :)

Brake bias 7/6 with ABS at 2
LSD is 10/20/6
Gear ratios are shown below but I think all I did was drop Max speed to 310kmh (193mph in old money).

Apologies for the poor quality phone images, was doing it in a hurry this morning whilst trying to get ready for work

EDIT: Downforce - max at the front and I was running 62 at the back but now up to 65.
6th is to long. I'll gladly give your tune a whirl, but 6th should be .882 anything longer is wasting speed the whole way down the straight. So I'll try that tune with either my gears, or your gears with a quicker 6th.

Managed about 5 13.4xx's, with a low of .472
The next lap after the splits up top I ran a 52.497  (only 13.55x T1) with a wall tap that slowed me down probably .050 in the high-speed switchback. :grumpy:
So my "alien time" to aim for is now 52.4xx.

But god only knows how much time I'm losing in T3, I gain and lose without knowing why there.... Still... :banghead:

Thanks CSL - other than shortening the final drive I haven't bothered looking at the gearing, concentrating more on driving practice and suspension, both with the intention of keeping me away from the scenery...

I'll try a shorter 6th in isolation tonight, and also a shorter final drive as 4th is maybe a touch long as well in places.

I would recommend just pulling each gear individually, probably quickening 4th, 5th, and 6th, so they stay lined up right. Gears are the only thing I've found that I can consistently use to make me go faster. :) I love playing with gearing.

 you need to get out more!

Thanks for the advice 👍
You wouldn't believe...
But gears in cars in real life and GT games have always bothered me if they're not optimal. There's just so much performance to gained by proper gearing it's unbelievable, So many cars could achieve quicker acceleration, higher top speed, and better fuel economy it just blows my mind how the real world decisions are made... I'll stop before this turns into an uber-rant. :)

13.729
39.858

HUGE improvement using Chris setup, thanks mate. I changed BB to 6/7, fits better my driving style.

One word - compromise...

My compromise is: an uglier, yet faster, lap:

13.889
40.284

Uglier, because on the last turn I went way wide, and then had to countersteer to catch a slide, but still got worthwhile improvement on my lap time. :)

Using Chris' updated settings. Thanks Chris! 👍

Splits after a couple quick sessions:

13.958
40.692

I've been a couple tenths quicker in each sector, I just can't put them all together...

Has anyone found a good brake marker for the first turn? I'm all over the place with the first sector because I can't get the braking point consistent.

Didn't get chance to run this again last night due to those awesome new expert events that took me many retries to win!

Thanks for all the posted setups - can't wait to try them out over the weekend :D

Cost of the car putting people off running this week?

I use a streetpole after the 200m marker. There are two poles between the 200 and 100m marker. I use the second one.

Who wants a FREE NSX? I bought it but don't really have time this week  first one to PM, and compete in WRS ofcourse will get it :).

If you can gift them - I'll give one away too. Same rule as above (First come, first served)

I bought the car and ran it in using another account, Once it was at full HP, I did the oil change and chassis rebuild then put it as a shared car (set to online) then switched back to my GTP account and borrowed it from my other account. When the HP starts to drop, change cars then borrow it again and its back to full power etc...

I'm happy to put a fully run in one up to share later today for anyone on my friends list if required... :)

Nice splits CSL. 👍 I'll give your gearing a try later too...

Edit - just looked at the leaderboard. Usual mate - leading D2 with your first clean splits. Nice job 👍

Update of times with Chris's updated tune 👍

Though my T1 is always slower in the fastest laps, managed to knock .5xx off T2.

13.895
40.247

I'm happy to gift a car a day until the deadline to anyone who wants one. 👍

Just send me a PM, first come, first served, of course. And needs to be a registry member competing in WRS, of course.

Please don't link this in the marketplace forum. :sly:

Even though haven't had time for WRS lately I am watching.

I can give a car to anyone who needs it as well.

1st come, 1st serve!

Just finished a quick 10 lap session. Not much of improvement except for my T3.
Thanks to everyone who shared their setups.

13.963
40.467

Thanks Chris, been on 53.0xx at T2 some times, but that last left before the finish line has magnetic pull for certain

Hey guys, after how many miles (or kilometers) this Honda starts losing power?
150 miles is when oil change starts to wear off in cars.
I use the driving line. What can I say, I'm lazy. :dopey:
Same here, and with this combo, you brake a couple feet, or .00x inside the red. Even without the line, the blinker is usually a good indicator. :)

Is it better to start with a loose car and then let the tires warm up for more grip? I seem to do better on the first few laps then I do later in the runs... not sure If I'm overdriving or just need to tweak my setup some more..... well, rather CSLACR's setup with a few tweaks..

My setup is loose at slower speeds as a sacrifice to maintain neutral handling at higher speeds. I prefer loose to tight, just driver preference.
As for tires "warming up", I've never once noticed a difference, in any car or combo, I really don't believe without tire wear on it makes a difference, but I can tell you with my setup (unsure of what your tweaks are) problems are caused by driving to hard. Oversteer problems, including 120+ MPH drifts. :)

13.734
39.677

This was a nice lap, still got lots of corners to improve. Fastest T1 has been a mid 6 and i had T2s in the low 5s....

I don't like the setups posted.... Perhaps too wheely for me. Here's my current DS3 setup that I used to set the splits.

40/65
Trans 3.420, 2.277, 1.670, 1.256, 1.003, 0.841, Final 4.160, Max 205
LSD 22 52 18
Suspension 2 -10, 13.8 13.5, 6 6, 5 5, 2 7
2.5 2.3
-0.25 0.11
BB 7/5

AS strong.
TCS 1
ABS 2
controller sensitivity 1
