Just gave a try to Chris (Vagabond), Jerome (Jump_Ace), CSL (Adam?) and Jon (Carlos)...I think I got way comfortable with CSL's transmission and Chris/Jerome's suspension.
Jon, thanks a lot for sharing, but couldn't manage to make faster times with your split.

Again thank you all for sharing!

No problem Lyvan, appreciate you trying it. I know my trans needs work, just struggling to get the time to do it...

A difficult combo for me this week. The car set up is a litte beyond my Begginer abilities. I will have to have a look at some set ups that are on here tonight i think. Also have borrowed a G27 for the weekend from a mate so I am trying to get aquanted with that as well. First impression though I think i will have to lash out and buy one of my own.

Luds, there's some great deals online if you're prepared to shop around. I took my staticice.com.au search results to my local Harvey Norman and they price matched!

Let me know if a copy of my receipt will help your cause

Not going to be around much this weekend so not sure I'll get to improve on these times... maybe a last ditch effort on Monday. Had a handful of faster laps and hit .7 quite a few times in T1 (once at .6), but each lap included a brush with a wall somewhere before the end of the lap :( T2 has me stumped and can't keep consistent lines through the long right hander. Hopefully my quali time gets reviewed this week and I get my division assignment :)

T1: 13.830
T2: 40.480

Gave Millross, Carlos, & Chris' tunes all a try, and I realized I must be driving very smoothly this week.
Chris' tune I have to drive how consider incredibly aggressively, pretending the car is a bowling pin rolling through the curves, just firing in there.
Millross' tune I would recommend for anyone having serious traction related issues, incredible grip out of corners, but the side effect is a see-sawing motion mid-corner.
Carlos tune is sort of in-between mine and Chris' tunes, and find it easier to drive than either, but my fastest laps were from Millross', because if you get the see-saw timing just right, it could be very fast.
@ Carlos - You're violating your own rule with LSD settings, the inside tire lights up first. :sly:

I'm currently trying to make an in-between LSD of mine and Carlos'. Raised my 6th to .885, Lowered my camber to 2.3 / 1.3

Thanks for giving it a spin Dominic :sly:. Yeah the diff is very loose, but it enables me to get on the power early especially in the early part of T2. Easy to drive is what I was aiming for, but I know I'm hampering forward progress for the sake of not being a nervous wreck with white knuckles at the end of the lap :scared:

Didn't get a chance to run last night, so hoping to give your gear ratio recommendations a go tonight, and if I'm feeling brave, I might tighten the accel side of the diff a shade :nervous:

I know I can get into the 53.1xx region with the way it is at the moment, because I've already done it once. I'm hoping with the slightly shorter gears that this may be more repeatable, and should also mean the car is good enough for the rest of the lap.

In which case, the rest is down to me :ill:

EDIT: If I've understood Matt's suspension settings correctly, he's got the front (which is actually the rear!) bar at 2 which would account for the see-saw action, but also the good traction.

EDIT #2: for anyone playing around with set-ups and finding themselves getting lost, remember to only change one thing at a time so you can accurately assess the effect of the change

Thanks Carloss much apreciated I hadn't thought of trying to get anyone to price match I shall give that a go once i have had a shop around and find my best price 👍

Crazy thing about those new cart icons is they still are not quite as useful as I would like them to be. You still have to go into GT Auto for the weight reduction and Stage 1-3 Engine Upgrades.

Hi Kevin.

Don't know if you've found this out, or if someone has replied, but it looks from the wording that the only things that show up in the cart icons are ones that are available for that car your in.

Ones that have already been purchaced don't show a cart icon, others that are not available for that car will not show in the list at all, like aero parts.

"In the Settings screen, parts that players have not yet purchased will now have a shopping cart icon appearing next to them. These can now be purchase on the spot. Purchased parts will immediately be equipped on their car".

I've found out that the Ruf RGT cannot be fitted with aero parts, and they dont show in the cart icons, I'm going to confirm this by using a car that can take aero, to see if aero/parts show in the list.

Edit: I changed to the BMW Z4 Coupe '08 which can take all part except Turbo Kits, as you say Body/Chassis will only show ballast, Engine only ECU/Limiter,
Turbo Kiks shows no list, unavailable to purchace for this car. This was the same in GT-Life practice mode and online lounge.

Hope this was usefull

Like you say above a little

No new times for Tokyo from me yet. :grumpy:

I was thinking that D2 looks pretty wide open this week, though UsualSuspect has pumped in some good splits - first ones that I don't think I "could" match - given that I don't think I can get much under 53.150 - having raced 450 miles so far. Fastest split I've seen has been 53.211 with an immediate crash - I am usually in the .4s - still, might tweak my setup a bit more and see if I can make it an even more stable craft, might be what I need rather than endless laps.

Still time left for that miracle lap! - although the LM24H & Canadian GP are gonna get RIGHT in the way, selfish sods!

Glad that some folk have found my setup useful - For what it's worth, with my latest splits I pulled the 4th, 5th and 6th gears a bit to lower the top speed by about 5 mph - I also made a slight adjustment to the spring rates but that was more arbitrarily than anything else. I'll post it up again if I tweak anything more/run faster times

450 miles!!! Mine's done 386km (240 miles) so far, including the seasonal event at Tokyo for some extra cash and track practice. Going to get some hours in tomorrow night, but we're both some way short of Chuk's mighty effort in the Civic. In fact, I think he's still sleeping that off!!!

First splits:
T1: 13.629
T2: 39.148

More to come off in both sectors.

Phillip.

Hi Phillip - I found this out when trying to set my Subaru up for the Laguna Seca Seasonal race. My car was bone stock, and it was clear to me after a brief test run that a fully modified car was going to be needed for me to win it.

I was able to do a lot of that work from the tuning screen, but found the engine upgrades and weight reductions to be unavailable. I also had to go into GT auto to but the stupid looking rear wing to give myself the 20 units of DF it provides. Not sure how PD figured the stock wing on that car is good for zilch on DF. :grumpy:

Managed to win that event last night after doing some tuning to the car. The key was to set the VCD to max rear bias. ;)

No times for me to report at Tokyo either. I have a busy weekend coming up. Getting ready for a trip, plus lots of motorsport on as well, so I'm not sure if I'm going to have time to give this one a proper effort. It's a shame, I really enjoy Tokyo.

Thanks for the heads up on Laguna Seca Seasonal race, enjoy your weekend Kevin, I'm sure it will be more enjoyable than chasing tenths round Tokyo 👍

Tried CSL's suspension and didn't like it, but the gearing is much better.

Suspension:

-15/-15
16.2/15.9
8/8
7/7
5/5

2.5/1.8
0/0.15

Edit: BB 9/7

5/20/5 on the Diff.

Note:

My driving style is very aggressive, I found CSL's rear (fnar) just washed away too quickly. I'm using the inside kerb of the first left in 2nd sector. Just seem to prefer it. This is with full Downforce.

----

Got a faster time, but slower at T2, didn't write down the splits. If I can take another .3 off my time I'll be happy.

Edited my post because I forgot to put in the transmission settings.

New splits:
T1: 13.611
T2: 39.108

Have seen lots of .5 T1's, but not on this lap.

I'm definitely trying your suspension, nice to see another agressive tune to try. 👍

I recommend you try your setup with these though, you gotta be losing time down the ever so long straight with that uber-6th.
3.007
2.067
1.570
1.290
1.055
0.885
4.062
I've found just pulling 6th down to .880 drops my speed at the line. The above settings are going faster at the line, which must mean they're faster to the line, and if they're faster at the line, they can't lose time to the first turn, because even if you start pulling slower than a longer setting, you have a head start, and the best longer gearing can do in the short time from the start to finish, is catch back up.
Gears....:)

Edit - Good to see you back wes, now I know I need to improve my time ;)

What's your maximum speed on the straight if I may ask?

Where do you think you're going? :grumpy:

;)
I had a good night sleep and went on a 100 km drive :)
T3 is not good yet because I almost screwed up the second to last corner but hopefully I'll get there tomorrow before Le Mans starts.

How are you guys getting those T2s? :)

T1: 13.489
T2: 39.546

I have a Q about the 2 rights just after T2; Is there an invisible wall or something inside the "real" wall on the left side of that short straight? Sometimes it looks like the car twitches a little just as I turn in for the second right - the way it looks when you bounce slightly off a wall - but there's no sound, no speed drop, and I'm 2-3 dm clear visually (at least). I can see the end of the car shadow on the ground between me and the wall in photomode. I only noticed it in chase cam view...

Best way to tell if it's an invisiwall is to go park right against the wall, then watch the replay. You might try parking against it from the side, and then again with the car pointed directly toward the wall. If you can see a gap between the car and wall when you know you are parked against it, you know it's an invisiwall.

Speed drops can be minute, so be careful.

Greetings Wes, was wondering if you'd join us. Nice opening there mate 👍

Starting to nail tidier T2's at last. Still looking for a couple of tenths on the lap...

13.534
39.116

Stunning splits Chris

Had a run last night - did another 53.26x to T2 and followed that up with a PB in T3.....and the slightest of wall touchs :ouch: Mother 🤬

Will try again tonight.

I did that for the first left....there is an invisible wall there and the speed drop was minute there as well. No sound either [motor cover] but the car looked "funny."
Dirty lap............and a pretty good bad lap at that...for me anyway

You mean on the rumble strip when entering? If so I might have to recheck cause it's very close for me.
